Many PN-G elementary teachers grade in purple ink; my first grade teacher drove an old purple cadillac. At every pep rally the week of MCM, the football team is given a stuffed bulldog that they stab with Indian Spirit's spear and tear up in the gym. On spirit day, it's not uncommon to find multiple students walking the halls covered in purple and white body paint and there were rumors last year that both districts were bringing their elementary classes into their computer labs to vote in the Channel 12 Band of the Week competition (the computer kids at both high schools literally wrote autovote programs). Trash on the high school lawns, purple and white feathers and dog bones dumped at random places in all three cities... Mid-County is an unrestricted, anything-goes war zone one week out of the year. Let me put it this way: I'm flying all the way back from Alabama to be at Indian Stadium for the Nederland game this year, but don't tell my mom that; she thinks I'm coming back for her birthday. ;D [/quote] Very true, but the rivalry has toned done a bunch from the late 80s and early 90s.  I don't think that they are having near as much vandalism as they did back then.  There were windshields broken, signs trashed, rocks thrown, all kinds of stuff.

Vidor doesn't have that winning tradition, but I know a few young men who are determined to change that.  [/quote] My .02...  I don't think the coach is the problem per se..  from everything I have heard Matthews is a very good coach.  I think he is a little too married to his offensive scheme though.  He needs to adjust his offensive scheme to the personnel, not force them to run an offense that they are not suited to run or has been figured out by everyone in the district.  See Nederland or PNG as far as adapting thier offenses.

One of the PNG guys can correct me if I am wrong, but I think there are GA seats available at the Res.  You need a connection in town to get the tickets the day they go on sale.  They are usually sold out pretty quick.

You still need to come to a game Liltex. :)  If not this year, next year.

I went back and checked.  Ned and PNG were in different classifications up until 56.  After that only one team went from each district until the 90s.

I still think Central gets the second or third spot in district. Ned vs PNG is a tossup,and Livingston gets fourth. 1. Ned/PNG 2. PNG/Ned 3. Central 4. Livingston

Moving from the old W 19-4A to 20-4A didn't help Ozen either.

Nope not even close. MJ took over when the game was on the line.  They should nickname James "Butter" for the way he melted away in the 4th quarter of the close games.
