  1. Yes, which is why I am more inclined to gripe about the coaches in the press box not noticing what is going on and making adjustments.
  2. What ? no lumberton? I figured they would be good for at least #1 or 2. At least according to them.
  3. Here is the newest info on the NISD bond: [Hidden Content] It looks like somethings will be tabled till Phase 2 of the bond. Opinions?
  4. Not a central location, plenty of hall of fame players from other cities, etc
  5. What did they do put a gauge on it?
  6. Yeah, Beaumont is more of a central location for the area also.
  7. Really its the suburbs. Most of the Houston ISD schools are at or close to 3A levels.
  8. From Ned- Bellows and Cardenas, and maybe Salenga.
  9. We didn't make a living on the run last year either. Hopefully that will improve this year.
  10. When I was in high school at home games, We always walked to Hardee's. (shows you how long its been). Now, I usually sit there and talk to someone about the first half. I don't want to fight all the people in line for the concessions and bathroom, so I usually get food before halftime. Same thing at away or playoff games.
  11. Green's holding out for the Nederland job. No reason to miss out on the extra $$$$.
  12. according to the review-"a total of six starters" are returning---is that incorrect? Exactly. You only have two starters coming back on Offense. So your "whole o-line" is not coming back. Neither is your "whole defensive line". The RB is going to have a tough time finding holes with a brand new o-line.
  13. What bond? the lumberton bond failed.
  14. You brought up the previous 10-12 years. Sorry you didn't like what else it brought up. The fact is, you haven't beat a 20-4a team in the last 5 meetings in the playoffs. If you make it past the first round, you probably won't make it past Lamarque.
  15. of your last 12 times in the playoffs you went out in the bi-district round 5 times, 5 times by the hand of a 20-4a team. 2 of those 5 were by Ned. You have actually been to the third round or past 3 times, never past the semis. 0 state titles. 17-19 playoff record. You made good use of all those district titles.
  16. Dayton and PNG? WHAT?!?!?! Are y'all serious?! BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! Funny how cocky dayton has gotten with only two years of sucess. Especially when the MC teams were the ones booting them out of them playoffs in the previous years.
  17. I would agree WOS for non-district and MCM for district.
  18. Grogan's put on some size this summer!
  19. I would have to disagree on that statement. We had a very talented back last year who couldn't produce do to lack of running lanes provided by the offensive line. We could have had Adrian Peterson as our RB, and we still wouldn't have had a running game. Offensive Line needs to step it up big next year if we hope to even have a chance to make it to the playoffs. To reply to Wise Guy: He was right on about the O-Line, those guys performed lack luster at best for the majority for most of the season! Even the RB weighed more than 2 or 3 of his lineman. The O-line is definitely goin to have to kick it up a knotch this season! Am I the only dog fan that thought our oline did pretty good? How many sack did they give up? Not many..... Would have been nice to have a running back that could have made someone miss, break a tackle? Some of you said that our rb's were bigger than the line, i bet some of the lineman were faster than the rb's. A good running back makes a good offensive line you're right, but they shouldn't give up many sacks in an offense that is based on quick passes... I think the other fans are referring to the dogs' inability to effectively run the ball. I also agree that a good back makes a good o-line but that can go the other way as well... I think they tend to feed off of each other's success. Perhaps you should go back and look at the game film dude! Bass (#11), for the most part, and Breaux (#14), were having to break tackles IN THE BACKFIELD THE ENTIRE SEASON!!! But of course our amazing offensive line wouldn't let that happen, they were too busy not giving up any sacks. Which brings me to remembering Bellow laying in the fetal position at least 3 or 4 times a game! Think before you speak man, just because you know an O-Lineman or are the parent or relative of one or even are one, doesn't excuse then horrendous blocking performance of last year. Plus, Bass was a OF and a pinch runner for the baseball team this year. But athletes with speed and quickness don't normally suit those positions (sarcasm intended!) And one more thing, you probably are the only person who thought the O-line performed admirably last season The dude abides.. Take a pill dude. The o-line had trouble with the run last year, but that not suprising considering thier youth. They will be a year older and from what I have heard a year bigger. We should have a better year this year if the OC will call some run plays.
  20. The school board and super handle reassignments, hiring and firings. Not the AD.
  21. I agree, again up to a point. That defense was much better the first half of the year. They shut down the Phillips kid from Waller, the same kid that ran all over lumberton. I think that starting with the Central game, they were worn out from being on the field so much, due to the offense being unable to move the ball.
