1. The bond should come up for a vote in Nov., hopefully we will have the new stadium by the '09 season.
2. Our stadium is over 50 years old too. Its time for an upgrade.
3. Yea, it's right. Looks like we are the big school. I can't believe Ozen is dropping like that. I doubt they'll be 3a though. A couple more realignments of 200 kid losses and they will be dang close, of course they can still stay in 4a if they want.
4. Previous enrollment numbers, for comparison: 06-08: District 22 Enr. Beaumont Central 1406.5 Beaumont Ozen 1499.5 Lumberton 1011 Nederland 1471 Orange Little Cypress-Mauriceville 1170 Port Neches-Groves 1475 Vidor 1425
5. Yeah that was me. Hey Soulja, are those numbers about right for Central? They made a pretty good gain from last time. Man, ozen will be playing 3a in a couple of years if they keep dropping like they have been the last few years. They have lost another 200 kids.
6. Lol. you had two good years. Seems to me we were booting you out of the playoffs a couple of times earlier.
7. Did they come out with what each school's enrollment was when they did the realignment?
8. Same thing with Ned, Neumann's starting number 15 this coming year, and the coordinators have been there over 10, in Spell's case, over 25.
9. True , but Ned has a officer that does check. It takes time, but they do send quite a few back.
10. That's what gets me about you snobbs from the Middle Kingdom. You act as if PA graduates no one. You act as if kids are retired from high school rather than graduating. First off, Roy is a A student so no matter where he goes, he'll excell. 2ndly, since Nuemann does a piss poor job in getting the bulk of his players looks(120 D1 schools) then I don't blame him for going to PA. Every weekend, some ex PA student/athlete is excelling in his or her choosen sport. Can't say the same for MC. As far as bonds go, PA passed theirs and the new school is going up on schedule. You should crawl out of MC sometimes down 9th Ave and look for your sorry self. My opinion of MC/Ned posters drops like the Dow daily...... Thast right go and get that great education at PA any parent would move there kid from Nederland to PA for their great academics. If you could earn a degree in arse kissing well MC schools could start their own university. I would with Nederland grads and I'm far from impressed with their so-called great academics. Now brown-nosing they have that down to a sience.... Having said that, I've always had a low opinion of Nuemann of what happens to most NHS ball players post graduation so Roy and his fam are looking past HS. Good move, and besides, he'll graduate from a shiny new building.... Yeah, Pa has much higher graduation rates, test scores, and lower dropout rates than Ned, lol. The way pa does bonds, Ned's brand new shiny high school and stadium will be done before one person moves into the pa(we want to move to Ned) high school. Back on topic, if he moves to pa, he sits for a year. On time? lol. When was that bond passed? three, four years ago? After moving the location at least twice and squabbling about it and then having to pass a second bond, they finally started a high school that is miles away from 85% of the students that will go to it. Bravo. I never said no one graduates from pa, you made the "less than stellar academics" comment, so I made a comparison. As far as D1 atheletes, what percentage of athletes make it out of pa vs the dropout rate? So where are the priorities?
i have 3 comments about this... 1) this was a fluke 2) how many 4th place teams lost by 50 in the first round? 3) why is a team that couldn't even finish in the top 3 in their own district even allowed a chance to play in the playoffs.  if you can't be competitive in your district, you haven't earned a chance to play in the playoffs, even if you get lucky and peak at the right time and win a few games once you get there.
To answer #3, some districts are much more competitive than others.  This district (22-4A) has had second and third place teams go as deep or deeper than the district champ.
well, this district really had 3 first place teams.  it wasn't like 2nd and 3rd place were way back in the standings.  but, you do bring up a legitimate point.  some districts are far more competitive than others... but there are very few in the state that can field four teams that deserve to make the playoffs.
True, but this district is one.  There have been several times when the fourth place team missed out by a coin flip or a field goal.
14.
Well looks like NEDERLAND just got good news....MAYBE they can start another streak!!! :o :o :o I LIKE IT..........Shut up and let them play...
LOL, this coming from a team that has made it once in 40 years, where were yall when they went to 2 and 3 teams in the playoffs??

16. Here is the direct quote from the rule book: Section 440: ELIGIBILITY - ATHLETICS Subject to the other sections of this subchapter, an individual is eligible to participate in a League varsity athletic contest as a representative of a participant school if that individual: (a) meets all the requirements of Section 400; (b) is a resident of the member school district (see Section 442), and a resident of the attendance zone in which the participant school being attended is situated, (1) Or has been continuously enrolled in and regularly attending the school for at least the previous calendar year if his or her parents do not reside within the school district’s attendance zone; see (5) (B) below for exception. Note: a student who has changed schools for athletic purposes may be declared ineligible for more than one calendar year. See §443 (f) (3).
17. From the UIL website: Eligibility for Athletic Contests meet all the requirements above, are less than 19 years old on September 1 preceding the contest or have been granted eligibility based on a disability that delayed their education by at least one year, live with their parents inside the school district attendance zone their first year of attendance (see your school administrator for exceptions), have not moved or changed schools for athletic purposes, have not violated the athletic amateur rule, and were eligible according to the fifteen day rule and the residence rule prior to district certification. There is no mention of districts.  The sit out period is a year.
18.
Sorry, I know I'm about to make some people mad. But, this is ridiculous 4 teams in each district making the playoffs. What is this? Watered down the playoffs with bad teams. There will be several teams with losing records in the PLAYOFFS. Call me old fashion but until my senior year only one team made the playoffs. They should have kept it at two IMO.
I agree, but there were a couple of fourth place teams playing for State in 5A this year.
19. If he is selfish in his play, then yes it seems like they are.
20. You notice its the lumberton fans bashing him too. Yes, after the year he had his junior year, offensive coordinators schemed thier plans away from him. He still had a decent year.
21. DJ has played RB,TE,WR on offense. He played LB ,DE and I think a few times at DB on Defense.
