Seems like I remember some of those Dayton predictions a few years ago too, I also remember that Dayton hasn't beat Ned in the playoffs, ever. The point being, I wouldn't assume that Ned is going to stay down for long and assuming one team is just going to dominate for a long time is kind of silly.

It looks like the glass is angled down toward the field. Maybe it just put enough heat on the seats to ignite the seat covers.

Update 7/18: It looks like all the outside work on the press boxes is done, and the elevator shaft is built. I noticed the workers working on the insides of the PBs the last couple of days as well.

So I was reading through the UIL rules, The coaches can have 2 hours a day of strength training and 1 hour of football training 5 days a week . This goes from the first full week of summer until the day before the first day of summer practices. I am a translating that correctly? I guess I wasn't up on the newest regs and I understand its voluntary, but I didn't realize how much time the coaches get over the summer.

We were also outside and acclimated to the heat a lot more as kids and more active outside of school. Not so much now.

They need to start doing them like they used to be. What they do now is not the same. Yeah I'm the old guy griping about the way things are now.

Update 6/19: looks like they are beginning to build the elevator on the left side (if you are on the street looking toward the stadium) of the press boxes and putting the outside skin on the boxes themselves. The design drawings also show adding back stands on the north side of both stands but I don't know if that will get done by the start of the season or if that is part of the final design.

I think BG is right, he was at TJ then at Ned in the late 80s-Early 90s , he coached me back in the day. I guess he was younger than I thought or coached past normal retirement age.

If that is the same Mattingly that coached in Nederland, I can't believe he didn't retire sooner.

Yeah, the law about just having them doesn't make sense. You won't have time to get them if something happens. At least have the throw device out just in case.

True about the waders, they just become anchors if you can't get them off fast enough. How strong of a swimmer you are shouldn't determine if you wear the life jacket though, because if you are thrown from a moving boat you could be knocked out or dazed which is what it sounds like happened in the case of this kid.

IDK, I would like to see a covered area on both sides to keep people dry .
