Bigdog replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
ok, take it down a notch please. -
Yes, made a run in district and then ran into Manvel in bi-district.
-
Umm , not so much. Every coach has a few bad years, even Neumann. MONTE BARROW 6 years; 39-27-0; 4-1-02017 Nederland 8-3-0 T2018 Nederland 10-2-0 R2019 Nederland 4-7-0 F2020 Nederland 9-3-0 C2021 Nederland 6-4-02022 Nederland 2-8-0

He's right, we got way off topic. Back to football!

He is shot-gunning all over the place. As I said, the city and ISD taxes are down from when the bond passed, the appraisal district controls the valuation of property. Even if the tax rates go down and the valuation goes up the total taxes paid will go up. Causation without correlation. Enrollment is currently up prior to last year at 5035 vs 5004 last year. As far as inflation goes, that's a national problem not just here in Nederland. BTW, Nederland ISD taxes are lower per $100 valuation than most local school districts in Jeff. County with the exception of BISD and Sabine Pass ISD. Nederland doesn't have the industrial base that both of those two cities have. Nederland City taxes are lower than all of the local larger municipalities. Bevil Oaks and Taylor Landing are the only ones lower. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]

First , if everyone is "bailing out" then why did Ned's population go from 17,547 in 2010 to almost 19,000 (18,856 ) in 2020? The City of Nederland lowered the tax rate again last year to 0.48 per 1000. The ISD tax rate went up for one year, and has gone back down the next two. The City and Nederland ISD have no control over the appraised value of property, that is handled by the County Tax Accessor's office. Klein wouldn't know a fact if it slapped him upside the head. He's just butt-hurt because he led the opposition to the bond and got it handed to him when the votes were counted. Also, he seems to have some kind of grudge against one of the school board members for some reason. [Hidden Content],+Texas+Populations+and+People [Hidden Content]

Give it a rest. Lots of sophs who have had a year of seasoning. QB play hurt them them a lot last year, and the RB tried to beat PAM by himself. We will see if this QB works out or not in a few months.

BREAKING Crosby hires HFC/AD Joe Willis
Bigdog replied to Matthew328's topic in High School Football
*sigh* -
Any time you want me to taste test it, let me know. I am always down for good gumbo, except in the middle of the summer.
-
Gumbo is pretty subjective, everyone likes theirs a little different. Dark roux, light roux, and what you put into it. Kinda hard to mess up a chicken sandwich. Personally, I got sick on Chick-fil-a once ( not a store around here) and pretty much stayed away from it for years. Their little breakfast chicken sandwiches aren't bad though.
-
All good choices. Not a chic fil a fan but most people are.
-
Lol. I don't think they will. I am not sure who all sponsors the food for the PB.
-
Maybe not crazy, but I see yall making the 3rd round this year as well. If the cards and bracket fall right maybe 4th rd.

BREAKING Crosby hires HFC/AD Joe Willis

Yeah, pretty late to start a hiring search. I wonder if we will get the full story as to what happened. -
Yeah I mis-counted.
-
Yeah, the old box is completely gone now. They will have to build the framing for the new ones and then lift them into place.
-
They are all going across the top level of stands. I think there are 4
-
Forgot to take pictures but they are tearing down the old press box and the new modular one is sitting out in the field behind the stadium.
-
Interesting. I guess I didn't realize he didn't have an OC.

Willie Ray Smith Finalists - Silsbee SWEEPS!

Who are the voters for the award? Local media? Coaches? -
😉couldn't resist could you?? Lol.
-
The press box hasn't arrived yet. I will try to get some when it does if I am around at that time. I believe it will be a single story box.
-
Also true, and you also have a lot of refinery projects starting up as well. That will take up much of the workforce. A three year job building a unit/refinery vs a short term project is tempting job security.
-
Yep, I am fine with them waiting until all the sports are done. They just need to get the site work done before its ready.
-
I agree. My biggest issue was the bathroom and stands project last summer. They really didn't start until mid-June, when they could have started in April and not affected any sports going on. They weren't done until the end of September. I know they had supply problems with the metal and some issues with workers but some of that was self-inflicted with the other bond projects going on. NISD finally got on their case about it and it got done. It looks like they learned some lessons from that and will get the press box started ( and hopefully) done much quicker. Also, I think the press box will be pre-fabricated and then lifted in place so that should save some time. Hopefully the pre-fab is done and its just the site work that needs to be completed before the press box is put in place.
