Its both. Coaches and players. There have been plenty of good coaches that don't have the kids to compete every year. And there have been teams that are plenty talented that haven't done anything much in district or the playoffs, including a few around here. If you take either one from the equation it fails.

I would consider Newton Southeast Texas. East Texas would be up to about Nacagdoches. Grandview, Aledo etc would be North Texas/Metroplex area. Liberty Hill , LaVega , Mart would be more Central Texas.

BISD schools don't have sponsors for a radio broadcast, Nederland and PNG do. Simple as that. Nothing is free.

Its in the Beaumont and Port Arthur papers, I heard them talking about it on 6 news. So what coverage do you want?

5A II Region 3 is a murders row. Huntsville, Manvel, A&M Consolidated,Marshall all still in along with the MC teams. Some of that will sort itself out but whoever gets out of this region will be battle-tested. And then they will probably have to face Aledo in the finals.

I noticed that Fernandez and Mayzec both played a little, although I think Mayzec might have hurt himself again.

I will give them one thing, Ned doesn’t give up. Marshall better play four quarters or there might be a repeat of tonight’s game.

The defense played well, gave up the early TD and then nothing but FG after. The offense is gong to have to find thier way soon.

If they come out and play next week like they did tonight they will go home for the year.
