#10 Woodville (9-1) vs Anahuac (4-6)
eagleswoodville#1 replied to eagleswoodville#1's topic in High School Football
I'm not sure how you do it wherever you're from, but down here in Woodville we ain't never scared. I don't know what the outcome of these games will be, but I do know for sure that whoever we play better strap it up and be on their A-game, because it's gonna take a hell of an effort to beat us from ANY team. So yes, bring on anyone you got, including the Cameron Yoe Yoemen. But do me a favor and let them know 1.) They need to beat West first and 2.) That game is POTENTIALLY next week. Right now, our boys are extremely focused on beating Anahuac, as I fully expect to happen by a very large margin. We will worry about next week when/if it comes. I must also point this out......there were two Cameron Yoe scouts at the Woodville/Coldspring game. So....who's worried about who? Hmmmm.....call it what you like. A good program, great coaching, over-coaching, thinking ahead, etc. All I know is it looks like we've done a pretty good job at catching their attention if they're driving over 3 hours to scout a team they're still two rounds from POTENTIALLY playing -

I choose to stick with the "less talk, more walk" method of communication normally. But, since you insist, here goes nothing..... My honest opinion on this game? Woodville will beat Anahuac by 35+ and would put up a great fight against, and very possibly beat, Newton. This Woodville team has a certain swagger I've NEVER seen from a team out of Woodville, although that's fairly limited comparitively. I believe they're the most talented 3A ream in SETX and when they put it all together and play a complete game, they can compete with any team in this region, and beat most of them. -

I have to agree, as much as I hate it, that Newton would beat Woodville. They really are just that good. But, we have Anahuac and won't play Newton. As for this game, we should win. -

I'm very superstitious. Political correctness got me to 9-1. Leave me alone lol -

Woodville is athletic enough to put up 50-60 points on the board. I don't think that's much of a debate. I think Anahuac's offense has progressed alot over the last few games, so I think they'll score at least a couple times. Hopefully not, but if I'm being realistic, they have the talent to put up a few points. -

The Panthers of Anahuac "should" lose this game. But shoulda, coulda, and woulda are like the 3 stooges. Unreliable, logically pointless, and purely for entertainment purposes. -

Nah. West will beat them -
I think he will be back either this week or next. But thats just hear-say. Not 100% sure by any means.

They ended a 21-year playoff run lol and yeah....let's not speak of that school. From now on they are called "that school that shall not be named" on this thread. -
Who was out against Woodville? Just curious. I know they had a lineman out and Ervine wasn't 100%.

The #10 (DCTF) Woodville Eagles (9-1)(6-0) and the Anahuac Panthers (4-6)(2-3) will both travel to Dayton, Texas for a Bi-district playoff match. On paper, this looks like a huge mismatch, but the Panthers have been playing well as of late. Woodville is coming off a convincing win over a good Coldspring-Oakhurst team, 31-18, while the Panthers come off a surprising blowout of perennial playoff contender East Chambers, 49-28. As well as Anahuac has been playing, I still feel like Woodville is the heavy favorite. Woodville 42 Anahuac 14 Winner faces the winner of Cameron Yoe/West (7:30pm on Friday, at Waco ISD)

You could be right. Yoe will be a tough task on round 2, but if there was ever a year that Yoe could be upset early, it's this year. -

Coldspring just can't handle Woodville's rushing attack and can't seem to get much going on offense, aside from one good drive. -
