  1. I'm all for being supportive of our team and I'm predicting the Eagles to win... But please, let's be logical and realistic about this. Kirbyville is a very good football team that HAS proven what they can do. There's no reason to think Woodville should easily beat them at all. I respect Kirbyville's program a great deal because I know they've proven themselves over the years. Please don't mistake me for one of these guys and let it negatively influence your opinion on Woodville as a whole.
  2. Week 5 Scores Buna 40 over Trinity 14 Crockett 28 over Coldspring-Oakhurst 13 Kirbyville 63 over Kountze 14 Woodville 60 over Warren 0 Week 6 Schedule Buna BYE Coldspring-Oakhurst (+35) vs Warren Kountze (+13) vs Trinity Kirbyville @ Woodville (+2) Team / PF - PA / Record Buna / 129 - 131 / (3-2)(1-0) Coldspring-Oakhurst / 67 - 100 / (0-3) Kirbyville / 159 - 82 / (4-1)(1-0) Kountze / 133 - 206 / (2-3)(0-1) Trinity / 75 - 185 / (1-4)(0-1) Warren / 46 - 152 / (1-4)(0-1) Woodville / 194 - 41 / (4-1)(1-0) District play kicked off last week in a pretty boring fashion, with Buna, Woodville, and Kirbyville winning by large margins, as most people predicted. Buna proved they are going to compete for a playoff spot with a convincing win over Trinity. Kirbyville demolished the younger Kountze on homecoming night and Woodville went into Warren and put up 48 points on the first half to put away the Warriors easily. Coldspring was the only team not involved in a district match, losing to a very good Crockett squad, 13-28. Heading into week 6, I expect Coldspring-Oakhurst to handle Warren easily at home, giving them their first win of the season. I expect Kountze and Trinity to be a decent game, but Kountze has proven they can at least compete with a quality opponent. That's something I have yet to see from Trinity. Now to the obvious game of the week......Woodville vs Kirbyville.....both teams at 4-1 overall. This could be the match that decides the district champion, depending on how Coldspring performs the rest of the season. Both teams are extremely fast and extremely well-coached. This should be a barn-burner and a track meet, but I'll take my Eagles in a close one. Game of the Week: Woodville Eagles vs Kirbyville Wildcats
  3. I agree 100%. With all due respect to all other coaches in this district, I think Bradley Morgan is the best. Let's face it, Buna is not exactly the epitome of athleticism, but he's coached a tough style of football that has lead to success year-in and year-out. I think they're a lock for at least the fourth spot.
  4. I'm a Woodville fan and I can say I agree. It will be a very competitive game.
  5. The only thing I disagree with is the fact that it will be decided by a field goal. Lol Woodville doesn't have a kicker reliable enough to kick extra points haha
  6. Kirbyville had trouble at times stopping Orangefield's wing-t. That could be a problem if Woodville decides to be more creative with their offense. Also, I know it's just Warren, but the QB showed off his arm a couple times this past Friday. I'd like to see more passing plays against Kirbyville. Lol
  7. Woodville should also have three starters back. Starting safety, who has been out all year. Starting offensive guard and starting defensive tackle who were out against Warren. They got they're starting offensive tackle back for the Warren game.
  8. These are actually two very similar teams. They match up well with each other.
  9. Uhhh I think I'll be a little more realistic about it. Having seen Kirbyville play, I know they're a very good football team. They have a lot of team speed and are very well coached. Woodville has the size advantage and can match up with Kirbyville's speed. The key to the game for Kirbyville is whether or not their defense can set the edge and contain the speed of Woodville. The key to the game for Woodville is preventing the big plays. If Woodville cam contain the speed and not allow big plays, they will win this game. I may be biased again, but I think Woodville takes this one at home.... Woodville 42 Kirbyville 38
  10. This post truly shows just how little you actually know about the subject you're choosing to speak on right now. Where was the lack of respect? All of my posts, up until you decided to put your irrelevant and inaccurate two cents in, were updates on the game. Please explain how any of these updates disrespected anybody. I'll wait.....
  11. I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. Nobody on this thread has said anything along the lines of what you're describing at all. Those coaches and players played a very classy game, actually. They just happened to be a much much better team.
  12. Final Woodville 60 Warren 0 They ran the clock the ENTIRE second half lol through penalties, scores, and even started the clock about 45 seconds prior to the first snap of the 4th quarter.
  13. I've heard of a running clock, but geez. They didn't stop it at all in the 3rd quarter. Not even after a score. End 3. Woodville 54 Warren 0
  14. Q3 4:40 Woodville 54 Warren 0
  15. I think it's safe to say that next week will be a much more competitive game. Lol
  16. TD Woodville! 2-point good! Q2 0:17 Woodville 48 Warren 0
  17. TD Woodville! 2-point good! Q2 3:12 Woodville 40 Warren 0
  18. TD Woodville! 2-point good! Q2 5:41 Woodville 32 Warren 0
  19. TD Woodville! 2-point good! Q2 10:20 Woodville 24 Warren 0
  20. TD Woodville! 2-point good! Q1 4:03 Woodville 16 Warren 0
  21. TD Woodville! 2-point good! Q1 10:05 Woodville 8 Warren 0
  22. Nah. Think we will pass. Thanks for the offer though lol
  23. You can't "dominate" someone and only win by 6. It doesn't work that way. Liberty was the better football team, I can concede. They beat the Eagles in every phase of the game. The better team won the game. The difference in yardage doesn't show domination, but rather one of two things: several big plays or a lack of efficiency in the red zone. Anyone who was there knows it was the first option. Liberty had a very good football team and played a very good game.
  24. I'm not convinced that any of the top-3 will easily beat each other. Coldspring has lost to two very good teams this year, Shepherd and Liberty. They were beating Liberty until the very end. Both losses were a result of second half collapses. It should be a fun district race to watch.
