  1. Great minds think alike, I guess.
  2. That's what I've heard. If so, the people of ECISD will be very pleased with the product. Very high quality turf.
  3. I guess I'll see him play this year then, seeing as Woodville plays Orangefield.
  4. [Hidden Content] Video of Lockhart on Hudl.
  5. From what I hear, their offensive and defensive lines won't be too bad either...?
  6. What list? The whole point of this post is for people to be able to post their OPINION on who the best retuning players at each position are. I don't recall seeing a designated "list".
  7. I also agree with you on this one. Silsbee has a very rare pair of athletes in their backfield this year, and living in Silsbee now, I'll be lucky enough to be able to watch them at least a couple of times this season!
  8. Better than Calvin Tyler? No. I don't believe so. On the same level as Ty Dennis? Yes. He has a bigger up-side than Dennis. Lockhart is about 6' even and weighs about 180lbs, running in the low-4.5's in the 40. Dennis is faster than him, but when it comes to physicality and strength, Lockhart has the edge. Both are exceptional backs and will both have a shot to play at the next level though. Dennis plays a lot like Glenn Roberts out of EC, who (as far as I know) is still playing at Tarleton State.
  9. I know where Dallas is from, but what schools are these guys from?
  10. Ivan Lockhart, RB, Sr. Woodville Ty Dennis, RB, Sr. Kirbyville Jack Dallas, QB, Jr. WOS Kolton Mackey, WR, Sr. Silsbee Calvin Tyler, RB, Jr. Silsbee Just to start it off.
  11. Who are some of the best returning players at each position, offensive and defensive, in SETX? All the way from QB to Kicker? I'll list some individuals based on my knowledge, but I'm curious to hear other people's opinions and thoughts on the subject. If we were compiling an "All-District style" list of the best players in SETX, who would be on it?
  12. Woodville's Brock Waldie is committed to play there! Congratulations Ty! First of many!
  13. Woodville hires Douglass' Eugene Laffite.
  14. The Woodville ISD Board of Trustees confirmed the hire of Eugene Laffite as it's head baseball coach! Laffite is currently the Douglass ISD head baseball coach, where he won the 1A State Baseball Championship and was also named the class 1A Coach of the Year in 2014! Welcome to Coach Laffite!
  15. Back where he belongs...on the baseball diamond.
  16. Well, his crow is done cooking. He needs to make an appearance.
  17. Hmmmmm. Where is MalakoffMan?
  18. My "good riddance" comment was a coming from my sense of disappointment that he didn't stick around longer, whether that was his doing or not. It wasn't a shot at his skill as a coach. He was a good baseball coach and did a lot of good things ALL the kids in the program, including the JV.
  19. This is a tough district. Hardin will be better, but not food enough to compete on this district. I think you hit it on the head with this one.
  20. Buna (5-6)(5-2) 3rd place 12-3A D1 ; Bidistrict loss to Malakoff (14-41) Head coach: Bradley Morgan --Lost several key starters, but had a very good JV and return some young starters. Will compete for last two spots with Wville and Trinity. Key losses: -FB, Justin Kennedy Key returners: -Remi Connell, RB, Sr. -Trent Nugent, RB, Sr. Coldspring (7-5)(5-0) 1st place 8-4A D1 ; area loss to Atlanta (0-41) Head coach: Mark Byrd --Lost several key starters on the defensive side, but bring back some talent on both sides. Should compete for DC with Kville. Key losses: -MLB, Edward Monroe -WR, Trey Cole Key returners: -Richard Higgins, QB, Jr. -Don Taylor, RB, Sr. Kirbyville (10-2)(7-0) 1st place 12-3A D1 ; area loss to West (32-35) Head coach: Greg Neece --Big loss in Jackson Gore at the QB position, but return a lot of talent on offense, including Ty Dennis, senior RB. My pick to win DC, but Coldspring will be main challenge. Key losses: -QB, Jackson Gore -DB, Dwayne Diggles Top returners: -Ty Dennis, RB, Sr. -Joseph Fentress, WR, Sr. Kountze (2-8)(2-5) t5th place 12-3A D1 (Hardin, Anahuac) ; no playoffs Head Coach: Duane Joubert --Took a lot of hits on both sides of the ball, but have some young guys coming up into the system. I'm saying rebuilding year for Kountze, but they could surprise some people. Key losses: -ATH, Grayland Arnold -RB, Jace Warren Key returners: -Keyshawn Adams, RB, So. -Michael Cole, WR, Sr. Trinity (7-4)(4-2) 2nd place 12-3A D2 ; Bidistrict loss to Corrigan-Camden (28-64) Head coach: Jarrod Smith --Shocked a lot of people taking the second spot overy Lexington in 12-3A D2. Return a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. Will compete with Woodville and Buna for 3rd/4th spots. Key losses: -CB, Javante Oliphant -MLB, Charles McMillen Key returners: -Brady Bauer, QB, Jr. -Marquinn Goodall, MLB, Sr. Warren (2-8)(0-7) Last place 12-3A D1 ; no playoffs Head coach: --Lost their two best players, but return a lot of young players who are anxious to play. Unfortunately, I don't see them competing for the playoffs in this top-heavy district. Key losses: -DB/QB, Garrett Amador -OLB, Dominic Lebeauf Key returners: -Jairus Williams, RB, Sr. Woodville (7-4)(4-3) 4th place 12-3A D1 ; Bidistrict loss to Teague (7-49) Head Coach: Ty Robinson --Lost three starters on both sides. Return QB, both RB's, and three offensive lineman on offense, as well as many impact players on defense. New HC Ty Robinson will have them competing for the 3rd/4th spots in this district. Key losses: -OL, Trey Dear -OLB, Chandler Button Key returners: -Ivan Lockhart, RB, Sr. -Kris Traylor, MLB, Sr. -Cade Bass, OL, Jr. Prediction: 1. Kirbyville 2. Coldspring 3. Woodville 4. Trinity 5. Buna 6. Kountze 7. Warren
  21. Yes, it is posted on THSCA and I also saw it on Indeed. Indeed.com says a Social Studies or Physics cert., but I'm sure if the resume looks good enough, it won't matter what he is certified in lol
  22. I'll take you seriously when you can type like you graduated the eighth grade. MalakoffMan, I said "on this day" because I don't believe Malakoff was the better team. Period. Obviously, we have a difference in opinion. You aren't going to convince me otherwise, nor will I convince you otherwise. The game is over. Move on and focus on West. Like I said, you'll need the luck. Should be a great series though.
  23. No, the bottom line is that people can't understand what you're saying when you type.
  24. It takes luck for anyone to win state. As competitive as highschool athletics are these days, skill alone doesn't cut it. Malakoff was the better team on this day. Woodville has three seniors...they will be back for many years to come. The girl that hit the double to put Woodville up...a freshman. We've got plenty of success to come. Great season girls. Good luck against West....you'll need it
  25. There's always a possibility I guess, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on that to happen.
