1. Who will play quarterback for EC next year?
2. Woodville should win. But you never know in this district. Prediction: Woodville 65 Newton  48
3. 4 techs in this one. 1 by each coach and a double tech for both #34s lol this game got pretty heated in the third. Splendora got rattled by it and woodville took advantage of it.
4. Wooaaaaahhhh. Silsbees JV could win the woodville tournament? really? silsbees jv is probably good, but dont overexagerate and say they could win this varsity tournament. Woodville and Kelly demolish them with ease. Burkeville, Splendora, and maybe big sandy beat them. Dont be ridiculous. Yes, Silsbee has a good program. Exceptional for SETX actually. But as for any jv team in this region being able to beat woodville or kelly.....get real.
5. Woodville won by about 45 or 50. Woodville played great defense. Slacked off ALOT after scoring 50 in the first half. Ended with 68, i think. 68-14 maybe?
6. Look at it logically. You dont average 21.6 ppg riding the bench "a ton of time". McDaniels is Kountze's playmaker. You take him out, they arent as good. Yes, theyre still a good ball club. But they arent near as good without him. Yes, Silsbee has ten or eleven kids that can play. DC is the guy that holds them together though. Without him, silsbee doesnt do near as good. Theyre still exceptional without him, but not as good.
7. @no look: yes its exciting. Crockett, Kountze, CH, EC, Woodville, Tatum, White Oak, New Waverly, Daingerfield, Chapel Hill, etc. The list goes on and on of better than average teams in this region. itll be interesting when the playoffs start.
8. um yeah. If you take DC off out of Silsbee, their value goes down. You take Mcdaniels out of Kntze, they arent as good. You take Gustafson out of HJ, they arent as good. Even with EC, if you take Jones out of the equation, they arent as great. Same concept applies with Sells and Woodville. Of course, if you take the best player on a team and take him out of the equation, there are gonna be negative effects. Thats not a Woodville thing. Thats a common sense thing. Common basketball(and actually applies to any sport) knowledge.
9. What are yall's predictions or comments on how this could turn out?? im thinkin the obvious, woodville and bridge city in the finals. Seems like the only logical conclusion at this point.
10. i know. that was aimie at all the people still saying that sells is our only weapon, not you east texas bb. And yeah its not at all a fair comparison. Theyre on a different level than most teams in SETX.
11. Im not saying that at all. Sells is a great player. One of the best in SETX. But he isnt at all the only weapon woodville has.
12. "Bring the ball down the court yourself" can mean anything from bring it too the hoop yourself too bring it across half court. Sells has had two single-digit games. Both of which, Woodville won by 20+. Idk what game you saw but the ONLY game i can think of that he was the only factor was the first game against silsbee. the 31 point, 14 rebound, 7 steal game.
13. I wasnt stating that i thought all of them were gonna play major D1 ball. These are the players that have the BEST CHANCE to play ANY college ball. I dont think there is a player in SETX at all that will go too a major D1 program. DC is the only one that has a chance to get on a team. But he wont be too successful if he doesnt up his game.
14. Youre totally right. But this post is about who we THINK will be the champ next year. But, for now, EC is the champ. Youre right.
15. These have the best chances: DC Stallworth- Silsbee Prentice Lane- Silsbee Darrin Sells- Woodville Garrett Gustafson- HJ David Green- Ozen Kristian Smith- Central George Whittaker- Spurger Devon Murphy- Evadale And possible Shawn Prudome out of HJ.
16. How do yall see that district turning out next year?? With Anahuac bringing back Albritton, Newton with Holmes, Woodville with Lockhart, and EC with Roberts. Its gonna be tough next year. IMO this is how it could turn out: 1. Anahuac (7-0) 2. Woodville (6-1) 3. Winnie East Chambers (5-2) 4. Newton (4-3) 5. Buna (2-5) 6. Hardin (2-5) 7. Kountze (1-6) 8. Warren (0-7)
17. Thats very true east texas bb. In the eagles' win over lovelady, sells had only 7 points. didnt play at all in the last part of the first quarter and the whole 2nd. This woodville team is 9 or 10 deep and has a lot more than just sells.
18. Agreed on that subject. The district is tough on its own with CH, Woodville, SA, Woden, CC, and Newton. And the region is tough with teams like Kountze, Tatum, CH, EC, Crockett, etc. And as to not making it out of district.....i think you dont have much of an idea what youre talking about. Yes, yall are a good team. Will yall beat CH either time?? NO. Will yall beat woodville both times....maybe ONCE @SA. And thats if woodville has a bad game and SA has a good one. Weve already beat newton and woden. Shouldnt have trouble with Hemphill and CC will be a decent game but woodville will pull it out. 1. CH 2. Woodville 3. SA 4. Woden 5. CC 6.Newton                                                                                                                                                                                                7. Hemphill
19. Woodville wil have a decent team last year. Jr. ATH Lockhart; 10-AA Co-Newcomer of the Year Jr. MLB Harrison; 2nd Team AD Sr. MLB Skinner; 2nd Team AD Sr. DT Releford; 2nd Team AD Sr. OL Mitchell; 2nd Team AD Sr. OL Allison; Hon. Mention AD Sr. QB Weatherford; Coming back off dislocated shoulder that had him out for 7 weeks Lost a lot of talent but still have a lot coming back. Woodville will beat out newton next year for that third spot. 1. Anahuac 2. East Chambers 3. Woodville 4. Newton 5. Buna 6. Kountze 7. Hardin 8. Warren
20. Woodville is on a roll. 9 game win streak. Brookeland probably isnt very good. Woodville  85 Brookeland 48
21. Woodville played much more aggressively this game than the past two. Lovelady usually has a solid squad and had some decent athletes. Woodville dominated the game for the most part. Both teams played great defense.
22.

What 3A teams has Woodville beat.
Woodville has defeated 5 3A teams, 4 of which reside in district 18-3A. Their wins are as follows: Diboll          64-36      18-3A Huntington   50-35      18-3A Jasper         58-47      18-3A Kirbyville      65-38      18-3A Shepherd     49-34      22-3A Pollok-Central  42-41 and 48-34  18-3A Like I stated in another thread, 18-3A is weak this year.
23. Woodville vs Shepherd Woodville is on a 7 game win streak. Dont know much about Shepherd other than they havent been very good in recent years. Woodville  65 Shepherd  52
24. agreed east texas bb. You werent the one who made that comment about overlooking. it was someone else on a previous thread. But this team does usually play pretty hard. At newton they slowed it down a little and gave up a big lead early. but pulled it out with a big fourth quarter.
