  1. how do you think the woodville woden game will go?? might have the potential for a good matchup if woden plays up to what i heard on them.
  2. Comments? Thoughts? first district matchup for woodville. Should be a decent game. Woodville beat buna @ buna and buna beat newton @ newton. Newtons struggling under this new coach but may get it together this season. Predictions?? 72-56 Woodville
  3. this game was played at woodville. Points were actually spread out between several different people this time. lol. sells, of course, was a big part of the scoring. But several other people stepped up. Harrison, the sophomore, had a great game tonight and battisse(#23) had a huge night beyond the ark. He hit at least 4 three-pointers over a spand of about 6 minutes.
  4. Woodville could make some noise. With a more experienced line and lockhart returning. Woodville shouldve beat newton this year. But they didnt. but i think they could make some noise in that district next year.
  5. Woodville vs. Diboll @ Woodville 7:30 PREDICTIONS?????
  6. That wasnt my main point in the whole thing on hemphill. i WASNT bashing their coaching staff. I was saying that obvioulsy somethings not working. The last finger is always pointed at the coaching staff unless there is some outstanding reason they arent getting any better. NO. their coaching isnt their main problem right now. Their lack of talent and want-to and their undisciplined attitude IS. Which the lack of discipline points right back at the coaches. What are they doing to help it? they might not be hurting it but it doesnt seem like theyre doing anything different to make it any better either.
  7. CH was ranked 25th?? idk now. But look at who woodville has played and tell me the two teams they lost too arent better-than-average teams. When theyre on, noone in that district can beat them. The question is, can they turn it on long enough to hold onto this district??
  8. Is silsbee better this year than last year?? will they make a return trip too state?? IMO they are definitely smoother and seem to gel better than last year. Dont have AS much size but everyone on that team can score and they are much more consistent.
  9. Woodville has more than just sells. YES HE SCORED 31 AGAINST SILSBEE! GET OVER IT! hes a good ball player. good ball players can do that. He had a good night and silsbee couldnt stop him that night. not a huge deal. Harrison out of woodville is a good solid power forward when hes on. Lockhart is almost as quick as sells and might, in the long run be an overall better player than sells. This wville bunch can play. They lost too the defending state semi-finalists in 3A and one of the bes AA teams in this region. They have much more to offer. Obviously, yes, sells is their most consistnent and most talented player. But not at all the only thing they have going.
  10. Woodville has 6 seniors, 1 junior, and 3 sophomores, with a good freshman group coming in. The three sophomores are the real deal. All three get good playing time and are EXTREMELY athletic. Harrison provides a solid post presence BUT can also handle the ball a little bit and shoot a little outside. Becks provides another post presence with a good outside shot and can also hold his own dribbling. Lockhart is one of the quickest players in the sophomore class of southeast texas. He provides a good outside game and can dribble better than most players in this district. SA's unorganization and impress everybody attitude wont get them anywhere. Looking at CH, their speed is NOWHERE NEAR that of SA/Wville. They wont get blown out but when woodville puts it into gear, they cant hang athletically. Newton has NO chance. Buna beat them by 5. Woodville beat Buna by 20. Thats not even a topic of discussion. Wville/CH battle it out for the district championship. SA gets the remaining spot.
  11. DISTRICT 22-AA PREDICTIONS!!!! 1. Woodville (12-0) 2. Nacogdoches-Cental Heights (10-2) 3. San Augustine (8-4) 4. Woden (5-7) 5. Newton (5-7) 6. Corrigan Camden (2-10) 7. Hemphill (0-12) Woodville is by far the best team in this opinion. Central-Heights gives them the best run for their money but Wvilles speed overcomes any team in this district. Central-Heights follows in second. San Augustine will be quick and have good athletes but not very dicipline and that will cost them. Woden will be fundamental and well-coached but not enough raw talent to make the playoffs in this district. Newton takes a step down and lets their inexperience and lack of leadership along with a new coach cost them a playoff spot in 2010-11. Corrigan-Camden wont be much this year and ties with a struggling program over in Hemphill, Tx. Hemphill's lack of talent, dicipline, speed, good coaching, and practically every aspect of a good basketball team makes them, IMO, the low half of this district. Any other thoughts??
  12. and no #5 had started two full seasons. He started a few games his sophomore year. But mainly only his junior and senior year.
  13. Silsbee vs. Woodville 5PM Big Sandy Tournament, Big Sandy High School Old GymSemi-Final Game Should be a good game. If woodville is gonna pull it off, Sells has to have a great game. Again ;) They did a good job of stopping DC Stallworth last time. They keep that up, im predicting an upset tonight in Big Sandy. Good luck too both teams.
  14. ive been too many wville games over the past few years. The coach there was seatbelted by techs in pre-game. I cant think of many times where ive caught him sitting down in an intense game. #5, Darrin Sells, for woodville is probably one of the quickest players in the area. Averaging over 20 points a game already, 8 steals a game, 2 blocks, and 9 rebounds. Woodville is going to be solid this year. Whoevers on there schedule, dont overlook them. And with #5 Sells, dont blink. LOL    :D
  15. i was at that game. Pollock-Central was a very well-coached, fundamentally sound team. They came into the game with a good game-plan against woodville and that along with a few bad calls early in the first half kept them in the game. Woodvilles speed and talent pulled a win out of their pocket. They will have to step it up to make a run in the big sandy tournament though.
  16. Prayers to the family from Woodville..
