Why are people bashing coach Neal? I played for him back in middle school and personally believe him to be the best coach I had throughout school. He may not scream until he's blue in the face like DeCello but I guarantee no player out there is going to disrespect him. I also know he's not going to play favorites. I watched the way he coached little dove last year and was shocked to see him sit him after a few turnovers and lack of production. This is incredibly rare on the eighth grade level. Then what happened? Little dove came back in the game and put on a show. I hope this is a long term solution. At least for the rest of the year. Don't count the horns out just because of a coaching change

I hear they have fallen victim to the old "let's burn our high school insignia into the opposing teams grass" trick. Fact or fiction?

weak is right, but the biggest thing i saw was a lack of energy from hf.  from the very first play they muffed a groundball and then it seemed like they all just laid down and died

Who got ejected and why?

imo hf struggles and will continue to struggle because they have too many players worried about stats and not enough who play for the team.  from what ive seen, when breaking the press there is way too much dribbling.  whenever they break the press the easiest, the ball never touches the floor.  this is where nearly all the turnovers came from last night against WOS.

I have to say I was impressed with lil dove tonight. His attitude seemed a lot better tonight. The only thing I can comment on is the shot selection at the end, but when the game is on the line you want the ball in the hands of your best player so I get it.

Universal offseason is possibly the worst idea ever. How is an athlete supposed to perform up to par when they can't move from pounding away on the circuit and free weights everyday. take it from me ;)

Not a rule, a choice. Again, I believe he could easily be on JV, but that is the coaches decision and he obviously has a reason for making it.

But be sure that you are mindful that the freshman team also has its own chemistry and their own ways of communicating that others on the outside don't quite understand. Just as you say we do not understand the in workings of your team, what appears to be a problem to you may not be to others. Freshman PG is best friends with several of these guys. No one should ever discourage confidence and assertiveness. Players have to have passion for the game. Plus you have to understand the PG position....you are the coach on the floor....the general. You have to be assertive to be an effective PG. That's what being a good PG encompasses.   Hopefully blue will tone this rhetoric down until all kids have signed off to study or go to bed. This is a PUBLIC forum and whoever has a voice to be heard should be heard.  What makes your comments any more relevant or important than mine? People talk about seniors not respecting a freshman, but what about adults not respecting a "kid". As for this whole freshman team chemistry, I totally agree. I believe I said something pretty similar to that a few pages ago.  ;D

This is a great oppurtunity for HF to prove themselves. Would it surprise too many people if the horns finished in the top 3?

I'm not "hatin on pops" but if he's gonna hate on my team I'm going to stand up for them bacause this team is a family and I would expect the same from them. Bluedove is incredibly knowledgable about the game and both his kids are great players, but respectfully he doesn't know what's going on inside the program. It's just like a DC politician talking about the war behind his big cherry wood desk. Until you've been in the locker room and on the floor with these boys, I don't believe you can truly understand what works best for us.

Wow you're right he hasn't said anything bad about my team, my teammates, or my coach. Why would I ever defend them? Please forgive me ignorant source (which ironically enough is an incredibly clever name). That's what a team is, they have each others back and it really eats me up when people want to talk bad about the hardest working kid I've ever seen in my life. He passed out after giving blood at 10 this morning, and sure enough still hustled harder than anyone else on the floor this afternoon. I'll take that over a modern day stereotypical superstar any day of the week.

Am i right?  I am sure the freshman point guard has respect for the Varsity but not too much because he knows that he has to bust his butt everyday to even get a slight chance to maybe see the floor at 7 on friday nights and you have seniors on the Varsity squad that don't respect him and they have their spots because guess what????  OH YEA...SENIORS HAVE TO BE ON THE VARSITY TEAM!!!
