I was unaware this was a rivalry.  It may be on the girls side, on the boys side Broadduss has not lost many in the last 15 years. I dont know the numbers.

The goal of every HS should be to win a State Championship. 

Im not a CH coach.  I know their coaches, great guys and great coaches. Then there is no argument, the kids are as tall as we said so we can stop talking about it?

I imagine it is in someway related to money.  The state is making major cuts and this next year will be even worse.  They are talking about making all small schools consilidate or having a superintendant for the county instead of one at each school and they are not hiring as many teachers and coaches.  All part of the economy.  Gas is also suppossed to get to 5 dollars before too long.

Lt Dangle, sorry to raise your hair.  I dont officiate anymore, but I have in the past.   My statement is clear and to the point, officials should have an accountability system.  It does not take much to become a certified official.  A few classes and a test.  Basically like getting certifed in CPR.  What is aggrevating is that with limited credintials and no one holding them accountable they can control the game the way they want.  I do not no one officials in the state who puts as much time and effort into officiating as a coach does into teaching his team to play the game.  Yet, they can come in and decide the game and do and say what ever they want to a coach and he cant say anything back or they sit him down.  It isnt right, there should be an accountability system.  I dont understand your statement about "no contact meaning little contact".  You will have to explain that to me. Please do, I would like to know what you are talking about. On the side of officials, do some do a good job, you bet they do, but for the most part it is one of the weakest parts of the game at the time. And i sent you a PM too.

Broaduss.  Where is the game played?  Broaddus has beat them 2 times already this year so that want help and Broadus not having there best player either.  I still go with Broaddus. 

Both places are nice places to me down on the dam end of the lake.  West Sabine should still have the Temple Chip mill if im correct.

CHTechie, you are right,  I dont know where he is getting his height calculations.  Ridiculous!  Yes, should be a good game CH and Woden, CH has beat them twice and it is hard to beat someone at home and 3 times in a year. Should be a good game. I still think CH gets the win.

Compared to living in WS?  The last time I checked both schools were very close to each other.  One town had a DQ and the other didnt.  That was the only difference I saw.  Not poking fun at either place, but both places are about the same. West Sabine is a little bigger.

From every person I have talked to in the SeTexas area, Kountze is nothing to what they were in the past.

Sawolverine, you may be right.  I thought after the CH game that they must have improved tremendously.  I dont know that they will get in the playoffs now.

Actually the coach would be in bad trouble if he did that.  If it was district he would have to forfiet every game from there on out. That is a UIL rule. The coaches hands are tied and what makes it worse is that the officials know it and are a**holes most of the time.

I dont think it is like that no look, I have looked at some schedule too and tthe first half of district and last have should either be even as far as amount of games at home or 1 off. 

Look, for the most part officiating is terrible.  They have no accountability system.  They can call the shots and do as the choose and please without worrying about anything happening.  This has been a problem for a while.  Not all are this way, some do a very good job.  But if a guy can take a few classes and come into a game and change the outcome of a game for his own likings compared to a coach who first has to go to school for 4 years to get a degree, then take another 30 hours on top of the degree to teach.  Take the appropriate tests.  Take all the CDl, CPR and ect test to coach and then spend tireless days and nights preparing his team to play basketballl the right way and in comes some guy off the street and can over turn that.  It is not right, spin it however you want.

I would be hesitant to compare any HS program to a college one.  Simple because one program recruits and the other (for the most part) dosent recruit.  I you are going to say that one school is like any Calapri team that blankets a lot of schools, same for HS that have won titles.  There are alot of programs out there that have won titles.  Ponder reminds me most of Duke, where ever Coach Boxell went he won.  He is a heck of coach, he would be on my top list of coaches.  I was glad and saddened to see him go from HS to college.  I know it was a great step for him, but it was a blow to the coaching community.  He was probably the most revered coach in the State.  I have looked and looked for game tapes with him and his teams, I have one, I tried to order some state tournament games but they told me they were sold out.  If anyone knows where I can get some tapes and make a copy of Ponder or Sanger playing when he was  there let me know.  If anyone has some HJ tapes, I would like to copy them as well.
