1. I have no allegience to Woden (other than I coached there and like the boys) and I like the way CH plays.  They just dont throw the ball out and run up and down the court.   That being said, I played at a 2A school that would have drummed you as bad as we wanted, it was a little town called Troup.
2.

I guarantee you CH can play with EC and Kountze.  They will probably meet in the playoffs.  Kountze and EC better be ready to play a different tempo than they are used to and be ready to go up against 4 guys who are 6'5 to 6'6".  They have guards as well.  The only thing holding CH out of the top 10 is their guard play, they are not shooting the ball like they did last year.  It was like someone posted about the Gustufson kid from Hj not being able to find his shot.  It happens, but if CH does they will very hard to beat.  For one you are not going to score over 50 on them and it will more than likely be in the 40's or 30's.  They are tough to score on.  My opinion is that 24-2A has 2 good teams and 22-2A has 4 good teams.  They can play and beat Kountze and EC.
Your whole post has inaccuracies in it. You said they we're not going to score 50 on them. In your loss against Crockett they scored 62 points on you and you were defeated by 23 pts. You said you have 4 guys who are 6'5" - 6'6". Looking at your roster, it seems that your tallest guy is only 6'5" with the others coming in at 6'3" and 6'4". The reason "utfan06" pointed out guard play is because you will need good guard play to handle the pressure that Kountze applies the whole game. You will rarely face a team that applies pressure like Kountze, trust me. Looking at your schedule, you've only faced TWO athletic teams. Tatum, whom you defeated while the bulk of their team was either still in the football playoffs or fresh off the field. You lost to the other one, Crockett. Kountze forces teams to play THEIR tempo due to the pressure they apply which frustrates even the best of teams.
You summed up you entire knowledge of basketball in that last post!  Geez.
3. Crockett is argueablly the number 1 team in the state and they only scored 62 points on them.  Your MIND is full of inaccuracies. Woodville was up as high as a kite for the CH game, that is why they followed with two down games to Woden and SA. They went from being number one in district to tied for 3rd.  They are inconsitent where CH is not. Central Heights can play with anyone in your district.  We will see when the playoffs get here, until then it just an opinion and we are wasting our lives arguing back and forth and Im not an idiot so Im not going to argue with one anymore.
4. Only shooting, and when I say struggle.  I mean they are only hitting 1-2 threes a game compared to 3-4 a game.  They handle press just fine.
5. It is because coaches are looking at who they have played.  They have probably played all 4A and 5A teams.  My senior year we were ranked in the top 3 all year and going into district play were 10-11.  We had lost more games than we had won.  But if you looked deeper you would have seen that we had played only 4A and 5A teams.  And beat 10 of them. And we were 2A.

7. They just are going off the past and EC and Kountze have always been strong.  I dont doubt they are, but I guarantee that there are teams in Central Heights, Woden, Woodville, and SA that could play with them any day of the week.
8. There about the same, CH can play with anyone when they play their game.
9. It is amazing to me that other people dont take the time to read other posts.  They take one or two words and then post and end up sounding dumb.  I didnt say they could win any district or beat any 3A team.  I said they could beat most, that is a majority or more than 50 percent and i would carrying it even further and say all but 4-5 districts in this region and that is cushion room.
10. No I wasnt around at that time no look, but you are absolutly right that you got to be good and lucky.  My junior year we had with out a doubt the best 2A team in the state and got upset in the Regionals. If we would have played the same team 10 more times we would have beat them everytime, but they came out hot and stayed hot, shot 71 percent from the field and shot 31 out of 32 fts and they were so up to beat us they got beat by a team that shouldnt have that ended up going to state.  That team was cheering for our opponent because they didnt want to have to play us. We were ranked 1 all year, had beat 5A and 4A teams by 15-20 points.  We were loaded.  The game before we got beat in the Area round we beat a team 104-44 and we were hot.  That old saying about having a down night after being hot proved true. We just werent lucky enough.  Anything can happen when you get in the playoffs.
11. I thought about that district but wasnt sure if they were in this Region or not.  If they are they will have a say.  Anyone would be a fool to try and say for definite that any school was going to win district, especially State.  Once the playoffs start, it is anyone's game. Anyone can be upset and be going home.
12. There are a few good ones as well. But all in all, 3A is down in this Region this year except for Cleveland and Coldsprings district and Silsbee's and HJ's district.  There may be one or two I am forgetting.
13. It is as good a district as the Kountze and EC district, which too could win alot of 3A districts.
14. Lazeek, I dont think I am wrong.  I just get tired of argueing with people who cant let stuff go. People who cant even fathom the possibility they could be wrong.  I wont argue with that.
15. Good point AAW,  not only do they need to hire a basketball coach, but if/when they do they will have to let him do the things it takes to build a program.  If they just hire someone who coaches basketball and then black balls him he want have a chance either.  I would be curious if they play any youth ball at all at Kirbyville.
16. For 2A this is a pretty tough district this year.  They could win alot of 3a districts which isnt saying much.
17. Agree no look.  They are ripe for a loss as well.  If Huntington can come in with a good game plan they can steal one. We will see Tuesday.  I think Huntington will probably do as they did with Center, try to put alot of pressure on the Davis kid like they did with the kid from Center.  They will play the 1-1-3 look or matchup look if you want to call it that because Davis' weakness is his outside shot. However I dont think the pressure will bother Hudson like it has some in district, like Jasper.  The 2-2-1, Jasper had trouble with.  I dont know if Diboll did or not.  The 2-2-1 is a safe press unless you know how to break it. It is amazing how many teams dont know how to.  But it is really the only press Huntington can run with only 7-8 on Varsity, they have to worry about foul trouble.  But all in all, it should be a good game, tough place to play but Hudson will either bounce back from their close call on Central or get beat.  Im afraid the chance to beat Hudson was the other night when Central played them to within 1.  That will be another tough game for Huntington on Friday when they play Central.  They need to pick up at least 1 if not both.
18. I listened to the game on the radio.  It sounded like a great game.  Opinions are just what they are.  Everyone can have one.  Why would you not congratulate someone on a victory?  Unless you thought there was an unfair advantage.
19. Basketball is so unpredictable you cant narrow it down to 3 things.  And I dont even know what your calling the pot calling the kettle black is, I have no allegience to either team.  Just like to hear the scores. I just want for (some, not all) to congratulate Silsbee on the win and dont come back later claiming it was this or that.  Great game to both teams.  Dont let the adults ruin it for the kids.
20. In most district races I would agree that you have to win the home games and do pretty well on the road to have a chance.  I think this district is different this year.  It has already been shaken with some road wins and I look for more to come.  Listen to what I am saying, Central is going to play a role in who makes it to the playoffs.  I will give the fact the Kirbyville for most everyone in the district is a give me game.  But even though Central is 1-4, they have played every one close and had more games on the road this half then they will the second half.  I think they will probably win district next year if they keep improving.  They are a Freshman and Sophmore team. Im just thinking they will shake the tree somewhere, they almost did with Hudson last night.  The way it is shaping up is Hudson will be 6-0 or 5-2 going into the second half. Center will be 3-2 or 4-1.  Jasper will be 3-3 or 4-2 and Diboll will be 3-3 or 4-2, they play next week then the other has the bye and the other plays Kirbyville.  That leaves Huntington at Hudson Tuesday, which will be tough to win but not impossible and Central at Huntington. Huntingoon could finish IMO anywere from 3-3 to 4-2 to 2-4 depending on how they play.
21. THE POSTS I WAS TALKING ABOUT WERE THE ONES WHERE TWO-THREE POSTERS SAID THAT OR HINTED TO THE FACT THAT THE REASON SILSBEE WON IS BECAUSE HJ WAS IN FOUL TROUBLE.    I just dont like it when someone comes back with an excuse when they get beat, if you lost then oh well, get ready for the next game.  It sounded like a good game, dont ruin it or take away from the Silsbee kid's effort when they made a comeback.  And when you post that things would have been different if so in so wouldnt have been in foul trouble then you are taking that away.  There are too many intangibles in basketball for someone to "hint" to the fact that Silsbee won because there 3 players had to play a different style.  That is part of the game.  What is the saddest thing is I said more positive things about the HJ team in the post but none of that was even spoken of, it was only the negative part that people wanted to talk about.
22. I thought SA had all of there players since the beginning of district.  I asked the same question from someone at SA and they told me they would be getting their best player at the first of Jan., which was the start of district.
