I know the name, very respected man around Woden.  Especially by the older generation. 

Can both apples or grapes not be soured?  We say it different a little up north.  Anyway, it just sounded like there was negativity in the thread in disguise.  Both teams are great and will probably be the team out of this Region to make it to Austin.  I could go back and point our where people were trying to post negative things while "really not being negative" I just dont want to take the time.  Good luck to both teams. 

Ch wins the district, Woden gets second and Woodville and SA fight it out for the last spot.  I think Woodville has had a major 2 game letdown because they put everything they had into beating CH.  Woden beat Sa at Sa by 20 something and Ch will do the same. I am sticking with these predictions.  After the first couple of games I thought Woodville might have a chance to win district but the flaws I saw at the Zavalla Tournament must be getting exposed.  District will finish CH, Woden, then Woodville or possibly SA.

Sounds like sour apples.  Give congrats to Silsbee.  They won no matter the circumstances.  Dont make excuses once the game is over, there are too many variables to say this of that, you could say the kid for Silsbee that went out of the game would have made 4 3's if he wouldnt have went out. You dont know what you dont know.  I personally think both teams have good teams.  Either team will be hard to beat.  I think HJ will probably get the best of Silsbee at HJ.  Where HJ has the advantage right now is they can play at two diffferent tempos.  Fast and slow.  Slisbee knows how to play a fast game.  If Silsbee wants a chance to be the best they will learn to play at both tempos or be able to force the tempo in their favor every game.  All in all it sounded like a great game to be at last night.  Enjoy the moment even if you lost, those kids of atmosphere's dont come along that often.

Nice play by play Aggies are We.  Yall did a good job.  Sounded like HJ kept the tempo like they wanted for most of the game, but Silsbee had the momentum swing in their favor and they took control from there. It will be an interesting game at HJ.  Sislbee needs to put 2-3 quarters of their kind of tempo in order to win big.  As long as Hj keeps it to a slowere tempo, like the first half, it will be a close game.

I think all of yall are missing the point.  One man is rich in one way way and another man is rich in another way. Alot of people could set out in life to make a lot of money, or someone could set out in life to be rich in other things. If someone wants to chase money, it is not that hard to do.  I could care less what I drive, I just want something that is gets me back and forth and is safe, I dont need a 2-3 story house.  I just need a simple place to raise a family.   I have always felt I was a rich man because I have a great wife, great kids, a good relationship with the Lord and a wonderful family. That, to me, is worth more than 100 BMW's, big houses, memberships to country clubs ect.   It is kind of like Gus said on Lonesome Dove, "you got to learn to love the everyday little things in life".  That too me is a rich man.

Sorry guys but you are wrong. 2 years is plenty of enough time to get to know someone.  I know those boys very well.  And true people dont have two sides(maybe that is how you are), I am sorry if you do, but the best people you will ever meet or know in this world are the kind of people who dont change, they are the same whether they are talking to a homeless man or the president.  Woden plays hard, IDK about dirty, yall had the officials organized so why didnt the officials clean the game up if they were so out of control.  Eagleswoodville, and you distorted what I said, that is a common tactic on this board when someone cant get the point across, not only by you but by others.  I didnt say that "calling someone the N-Word was a way to stand up for yourself."  You just flat out lieing.  They beat yall, its over and done.  And they did it at your place.  And you dont know who wrote what and what was said by either team.  I played independant ball for 10-15 years and I received racist remarks everytime I stepped on the court (Im white) or walked in the gym with my team.  They usually stopped calling me names and saying I couldnt play after about the first 5 minutes. There is always two sides.  Eagleswoodville, you just completely changed every word of my statement around and wont give Woden the credit they deserve, and try to bring up race to solve why you got beat and why they are not good people.  Onfire, so the black kid they have on their team dosent care what they call other black people?  I was closer to him than most of the others. That is what is ridiculous. What is a shame is that you cant congratulate them and you have to bring up race in your argument.  Im not going to argue with you anymore, they won, too bad, they are good kids, I know it, your mad you got beat :"dont wrestle in the mud with pigs, or you will get muddy too". 

All you got to do is play a zone on Jasper and you can beat them.  They cant shoot.  Center will beat them.

First off, I dont believe that.  They have one or two black kids on the team so I cant see them saying that and one of them is a vital part of the team, I was around them all day everyday for 2 years and never heard anything like this. Now, will they cower down, you better think twice because they are too tough.  Now, if they were provoked they will stand up for themselves, but anybody should do that.  I dont know if that happened or not, and you are going on alot of what someone else has said.  Ever heard about the statement passed around the room and how it will change by the time it gets to the end.  That is what you heard.  The other day you complained that I didnt congratulate woodeville for their win over CH.  I havent heard anything but excuses from you about the game.  You say if Woden runs with Woodville they cant hang, evidentally woodville cant hang with woden in a possession game.  Who cares if they cant run up and down in a "running game" with them.  Last time I checked, those were not the rules of basketball.  You dont have to run and gun.  I m sorry about whatever you think you heard, but that is not true.  You can say what you heard all day but it is just excuses.  Great bunch of boys who came in their with a game plan and won.  They work hard, get good grades, and were always a pleasure to be around.  I think I know them a little better than you.

Sorry for the guy who shot himself, accidents happen all the time.  We hunt with guns too.  But I was talking about the real deal, hunting with dogs.  They catch the hog and then you catch the hog behind the dogs.  Adrenaline rush like you have never had.  It is a blast.

No look, you know they are.  If the AD is a football coach and they have UOS then all of their cards are on football.  It was that way in Huntington for 20 years or more until they finally figured out we are not going to win in football.

They will be tied for first when Woodville and Ch have their bye!!!  So Woden's shots fell at yalls gym and yalls shots didnt fall at your place?  Sounds like Woden had home court advantage.

Central may be 1-3 in district but they have played everyone close.  They will beat some teams at Central and shake the district up IMO.

It sounds like Spurger allowed too many points.  I know evidentally they did if they got beat they did but 74 points is alot of points to allow especially if it they were scored in the halfcourt and not on turnovers.

Man, they have got to shoot better from the line.  They shot bad from the Ft line against Center.  If the freshman or Ellis get fouled I feel pretty confident they will make theirs.  I dont know about the rest, they may be bringing the team ft percentage down.  Because those 2 usually hit theirs. 

They are a good group of kids.  Some of the hardest workers you will find.  They deserve al the success they get.  It will be Woden, Woodville, and Central Heights going to the playoffs.  And I could see all 3 advancing a few rounds.

The players must have been sending me ESP vibes.  I spent many an hour with those Woden boys at 5:30 in the morning and after school until late.  I am proud as heck of them.   School didnt treat me very good but those boys are like my kids. They saw my wife at a game earlier this year and all of them stopped and hugged her and told her how much they missed us and talked to her for 10 minutes before going to get dressed.  My son used to hang out right in the middle of all of them, great group of kids.   They deserve all the success they get, they work their tails off.

Woden beat Woodville 50-43.  

Zavalla by 2. 38 to 36 over Chireno.  This was incorrect. Guys Im sorry, I got this wrong.  Chireno won by 2.  It showed Zavalla by 2 on one website and that they lost by 2 on another website.  The latter website was correct.
