  1. Woden must have won or eagleswoodville#1 would already be on here!!! Or it may be in overtime.
  2. I didnt want to say anything before the game but I figured Jasper would have trouble with the Huntingtons zone.  They didnt have any shooters. It sounds like the one kid hit some 3's to make it look closer than it really was.
  3. I missed the game, had LD practice.  No look, how did the game go?  I know Huntington got the W but how did they look and play?
  4. I left with 50 seconds left but it was in Huntington's control 53 to 47 and Huntington shooting ft's.  I dont know the district standings.
  5. Huntington was up 53 to 47 over Jasper with 50 seconds left and Huntington was shooting Fts.
  6. Thats what she said.  To clarify, quoting grinches "thats not much size for a top recruit".
  7. No look, me too.  I have had a bad 2-3 week of picks. I even thought Auburn was going to lose last night after they made the comeback at the end.  Look at the PicEm threads on here and I am last out of everyone.
  8. No look, you trying reverse psychology?!  What ever works, works.  I think Huntington gets it tonight.  They are due, the last two games could have went either way.  Jasper want be as good as Center either.  Or do I need to use the reverse thing, tell me and I will!
  9. I want to say Woden will win, I just dont want to stick my big foot in my mouth again either.  I will just say it will be a good game and leave it at that.  Who you got no look?
  10. AAW, I dont even see where he has the gall to argue with you when yall beat them 50 without DC.  If I was him, I think I would keep quiet. Everybody on here knows how good Silsbee and DC are, in their own rights.  Didnt Spurger beat them too?
  11. There is nothing wrong with those numbers and Silsbee had a pretty loaded team so Im sure the ball was shared.  I will take a 13 points and 8 rebounds a night guy anytime especially if he is on a team that is full of players.
  12. It was news to me too.  I heard it on hoopsinsider.com.  They claim they have out grown TJC and are moving it there.  And I didnt think to ask the guy then if 2A, and all 1A's would be at SFA.  I just hated them moving it from TJC.  It would be like them moving 3A from Sam.
  13. Thats what I thought and they were naming 4A teams to be at Sam.  I have never been to the Regional Tournament in 3A.  I may go to it this year instead. Always went to TJC for 2A, but I understand they are moving it to SFA this year(mistake in my opinion, I love TJC).  I wonder if they are going to continue the 1A Regionals at SFA as well.
  14. True, you can hone in on some skills but the part that makes a PG really good, I think it is something you are born with. I May be wrong.  One of my favorite authors believes that it isnt innate, but that you can build a PG through situational drills doing them over and over.  I agree with him to a point, you can make a PG better, but there is something about the great ones you cant really describe you only notice it when you see it. JMO
  15. Bluedove, we discussed this on another message board the other day about how to build a PG.   I know you have a son who can play PG. I am not sure you can build one, I think the best PG just have it in them.  And it all depends on what expectations you have for this guard.  But a point guard to me sees the play before it happens, as he pushes the ball up court he can see the game happen at multiple angles, can get his shot or a shot for another and play good onball and offball defense. That is a great PG. There are not many out there that can do that.  A true PG will normally be more worried about how many assists he had compared to points. But at the same time he can score if needed.  And he has to be vocal.  I remember growing up and crying after losing a youth game.  The other kids would make fun of me.  My dad told me when I got older that he knew it hurt me but that he kind of liked it because it did hurt me that much to lose and if it hurt me that bad I would ultimatly do something about it.  A good PG will hate to lose.  It will consume him.
  16. I havent seen either team play, so cant really give a good opinion but I personally think they will split.  Each gets theres at home.
  17. I think Huntington will get this one.  But, I have been wrong before,  I thought they should have beat Center and especially Diboll the other night.  But, I think it being at Huntington will give them the little over the top to get the win.
  18. First, no one said anything negative about Burkeville.  Second, Spurger beat Burkeville, so there is not a whole lot you can say(or I guess you can keep talking).  The game is over. Spurger won.  Give Spurger credit.  Unrelated but I was going for CH against Woodville last Friday and Woodville won. I congradulated Woodville, they got the win.  Sure you can say things but until they play again and if a different result happens then there is not much to talk about. I dont know the Erwin kid, he may be a good player, but just because he gets 15 open looks does not make him a good player.  The thread topic is the best PG in SETexas, I heard from dad before he got sick that the kid from Spurger could play.  My dad said he shot the ball ok, but he saw the court exceptionally well. To me that is the biggest attribute of a PG, when they can see a play happen before it develops.  Some have it and some dont, evidentally my dad saw this in the Spurger kid.  Just an opinion, you have stated your opinion multiple times.  I think everyone knows who your hero is.
  19. Where is 4A Regional Tournament held at AAW?
