  1. He has a very extensive vocabulary.  Hope I spelled that correct.  Talking about English teachers, my mother taught Honors English for 20 years and she is a stickler for spelling.
  2. If you were going to nominate someone for a spelling "b" who would it be?  I vote Steve Nash. JK  You know Im just messing with you.
  3. If they score over 45 I would be very surprised.  Not saying it couldnt happen, jsut unlikely.  CH has played 3A and 4A teams this year and is holding opponents in the 30's for games on average this year.  Woodville will match up with CH as far as height and speed, both have each.  CH is more skilled and that is what will get them the win. It will be an interesting game. Woden plays SA at Woden so that may be a good game too.  I think Woden will beat them though.  Not sure who has the bye but CC and Newton are going to steal a game or two in this district and it will shake it up.
  4. Realize as well, that the more successful a program becomes the more good players gravitate toward that program.  We discussed this in a thread the other day. There are too many factors to determine if a coach is good or not. The most telling sign is if a program has not won in many years and a coach comes to that school and stays awhile (5-15 years) and builds the program up to where they win year in and year out. Mostly at the present, coaching is graded on whether the kids play hard or not and under contol.  It is a difference of opinion.  I have heard one guy claim a coach was the next Bobby Knight and the next run him in the ground.  It depends on what each person thinks. If someone that understands the game of basketball, they can tell if a coach is good or not or if he is average or if he is poor. The one thing you can not argue with is a coach who comes into a program that has not won and starts a winning tradition, he is either very lucky or very good.  It is also hard to sustain winning at a program that is already winning, although you will get a little  more help than the program that is in the dumps.  At least you have community, fans, most parents, admin, and some programs have good players come into it. That is a million dollar question.  Alot of opinions as well.
  5. I dont know who will win, although I would go with CH but I know for sure that Woodville will not score 72 points.  If they make it over 45 I will be suprised.
  6. I can assure you, there is nothing for sure in that district this year.  5 teams are very even.  The district is down from previous years and will likely be played out until the last game.  As of now some have played 2 games and some only 1. JMO
  7. Center has a kid too, probably not as good as the Davis kid, this players name is Netherly.  He is very smooth and shifty.  He probably didnt score 12-14 points but he made alot of steals and good passes.  He is very smooth.
  8. Good turn around for Zavalla then.  Shelbyville beat them in the Jingle Bell Jubilee, if im correct?  Coach must have made some adjustments. Good win for Zavalla.
  9. Did the freshman lead them in scoring tonight?  I know he had a good night.  He had several key plays.  Scored 8 or 10 didnt he?  And handled the pressure well. Houston couldnt find his shot.  Your exactly right, they were trapping, we got it to the middle and hit the short corner man.  But either the pass was too slow or we didnt finish. Made some dumb mental mistakes.  Anyways, enough about this, you can tell Im still aggrevated but on to the next game. We need to get it for sure.
  10. I didnt know if you saw no looks post on the Huntington/Center thread.  Hudson won but unsure of the score.  Could have been 2 or 22.  Will have to wait for the official score.  Does anyone know where it was played?
  11. Yeah, yall are funny.  The joke is on you.  Cant understand fact from fiction. I didnt say any name was typical, I said those were unusual. Completely different. Are yall that insecure that you would bring racism into a thread about someones last name.  IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE. Use your head, God gave it to us for a reason. Im though with this topic yall can make whatever joke you want.  Congrats to the Prudhome kid and the freshman Bosha, they both seem to be good players.  Sorry I was curious about you last name. I for sure wont ask your first name. If yall read this, take away the good parts about you getting in the paper and the article on you, something you can look back on years from now.
  12. No look, Huntington had that game.  It was tight for 3 quarters.  I thought their opportunity was in the 2nd quarter when Centers good guard was out.  They should have extended it to 10 or so and I think they could have got the win.
  13. Sounds like it was a good game. Wish I could have been there to see it.
  14. I left with 40 seconds left and Center was 42 and Huntington 29.  It was close for 3 quarters, I think 25-23 at the end of 3.  Very dissapointed in the amount of people at the first district game of the year.  The gym was barely half full.  Center played very sluggish and acted like they could care less whether they won or not, it makes me very mad that Huntington had the opportunity to go 1-0 in district against the team that is suppossed to win district.  Huntington had too many turnovers and missed too many FT's.  Could not hit a jump shot.  It was one of the worst HS games I have seen in a long time. Im very aggrevated.  For the first time in a long time Huntington has a chance to make the playoffs, they just couldnt close it out. If Huntington takes care of the ball and makes their passes to their teammates then they win the game.  They had a good game plan and got Center's best player in foul trouble early but couldnt capitolize on it.  Huntington beat themselves tonight, Center didnt come to play, they were there for the taking.  I dont know the Jasper/Hudson score.
  15. If you would have read the posts, it was asked about them because they are talked about the most.  BadSanta, I think you need to stick to phrasing your own posts instead of trying to explain how a post should be posted by another, you have your own problems in that area.  No alarms went off unless you are are PC fanatic.  There was not a thing racist about it.  It was a simple question on why two of the black players from HJ have unusual names.  Nothing in the cracks to look for guys.  Bluedove answered the question and it should have ended at that.  For all you know I could be a black person asking the question.  Yall didnt know that, you assumed that I was white.  The bottom line was they are unusual names in the East Texas area, I asked could it be that they have Lousiana decent.  The majority of the time, the person who wants to find something racial in words is the one who is racial themselves.  No where in my mind was it intended to go this far.  Guys, hopefully we are a smarter bunch than this. Think about it.
  16. I think Shelbyville beat them in the Zavalla Tournament.  I look for Zavalla to get payback tonight.
  17. It was a good article about him in the paper.  I always like to hear about kids sneaking off to find a gym to play in with half the lights on just by yourself.  Dedication.
  18. Center plays at Huntington.  This would be a great chance for Huntington to start district off in a real good way by beating Center.   I will try to get the score for later. I know, I know, it is East Texas, but for those who are interested I will post.
  19. Did you make sure you spelled everything correct.  It is two lashes for every mis-spelled word.
