  1. I was a coach for a while and then went to work for a Fortune 500 company myself and flew in our private jet many times to Mississippi on business trips.  I did that for 2-3 years and decided to get back into coaching after considering a career in medicine as a Physicians Assistant because I wanted to coach my son.  If you want to argue about him I can send videos about him, he is in the 2nd grade and plays with 4th, 5th and 6th graders.
  2. Your right I wasnt. I brought up there names because they are talked on here more than most.  I have seen a few post on Gustofson but not many, most were about Bosha and the article today about Prudhome.  I was seriously just curious.  I had a friend named Jetton that was a white guy and it was the same curiosity when I asked him where his name came from.  He was from south Lousiana.  I have always been interested in last names and geneology.
  3. Bluedove answered the question.  It must be a cajun thing from years ago past down.  Bosha and Prudhome are uncommon black names.  Smith and Jones and Davis' are common white names, I have a white friend with a last name that is very unusual for a white person.  I asked him the same question when I met him.  Only someone  that wanted to start something would bring in something negative to the question.

Lazeek, what would I be jealous about?
  4. It is within UIL rules as long as the coach is not instructing, but during the season I would think Sundays would be a day you would want to take off.  During the offseason, I can see opening the gym on Sunday and playing, but it needs to be at a time where athletes can get family and church time in as well.  JMO
  5. I wonder how many of us know this much information about our own families?  Sure seems we know alot about the success in athletics at our schools but what about academics and those things.  It seems we are holding a debate for everything against everything school.  Why dont we post stats on who sales the best popcorn?  Or which school has the best colors?  This just seems like we have gotten a little immature with this all.  There are tons of schools out there with success at all kinds of levels that we could post things about.  Both Hj and Silsbee both have good basketball programs or athletic programs.
  6. I havent been to Beaumont in a couple of years but the last time I was not impressed at all.  Very aged and unclean.  There may be a few parts that are nice, but there are always exceptions. Im sorry I hurt your feelings and you had to joust at me with the clueless bit.  Anyone  who has been to Beaumont would agree that it is not a very clean place.  I had friends who lived there and they said the same thing.  Sorry I hurt your feelings, was just stating an opinion.

  8. Im sure the Beaumont does not pay as well, that part of the state has always been very poor.  Just drive through the toen and look how down trodden it looks.  Regardless they will still be able to offer a very competitive salary for basketball coaches because the money comes from the State.  It just depends on how much the school district want to allocate to the basketball coaching position.
  9. Hj dosent want to get a new gym.  It may be better for the fans, but I can gaurantee it will not be better for the players.  I have seen this first hand. School builds a state of the art complex that holds 2,000 and 300-400 show up and it looks like no one it there.  No home court advantage. Im letting you in on a secret on this one.
