  1. Good Luck to PAM. Congrats. Good decision, someone that will stay awhile, Good choice.
  2. It's really not an argument, the kids go where they feel they'll be successful. The shake up started when all the area coaches were dismissed. Ozen brought in Brooks and Central suggs. Neither guy stayed long. Brooks was winning but still feared loosing his job. Suggs was just ready to leave. The kids will remain if the coaches remain. A little success, the kids start coming, then the coaches leave. The shake up are what hurts the programs. I hope Ozen can find a coach that will stick with the kids. I truely believe Washington's going to stick around for a while.
  3. I totally agree with yall. Arthur Louis was the man at Ozen. His winning percentage has never been matched. His dismissal was unwarranted.
  4. I think White will be the man this year in Beaumont. Daw and O'neal will share duties, so they will share the glory. Rate them together they'll be a hellava one two punch.
  5. True, so true. Although we have the debt at QB this year, what is the staff going to do with it will be interesting to see.
  6. I was wondering if this was a rule last year. I witnessed a few tackles that could have been considered horse collars. Good rule though. It's important to protect the players.
  7. Good Luck Panthers, hope yall find a good coach
  8. I think Enoch Dixon did pretty good. And Coach Mitchell turn a mediocre Cougar team into a playoff team in one season. I refuse to believe hiring inside is not a good idea b/c of Clayton and Jackson's flops. That's two individuals that weren't successful b/c of their leadership lackings. Man, you gotta give Washington a chance. You can't shut the door of opportunity on a man b/c of other men's unsuccesses. I think Washington will be alright. He's coaching in a winning enviroment, it should help.
  9. I agree ICE BOWLS are things of old. Won't happen in these days and ages. But in playoffs, it may be a factor. NFL defenses are much more pronge to have success if this is your main set. Theisman is right, QB's should learn to play under center also.It could be effective only when you can be versitle out of different sets. It can't be your primary set in the Pro's. DC's at the pro ranks get paid big bucks for good reasons. Pro D players are stronger, faster, and smarter than college players. Vince young is a prime example, best college QB running and throwing since Nebraska's Fraizer.
  10. For those of you that don't know, Washington Was at this facility when it was B-CP, and he was on the side line all those years also. He's that longevity coach Central is so in need of. I hope he stick to what is successful on the Defensive side of the ball. I think he'll be ok. I just hope the community don't put too much pressure on him. He should do good for us. Good Luck Coach
  11. Central will be just fine. They will run I'm sure something the kids would be comfortable with. I'd mix it up. I wouldn't totally do away with the WB offense. I'd still line it up and do different things from it. Lawrence is used to the spread in JR. High. The Jags will roll
  12. your offense would require a lot of discipline. it would help to have gifted skill players, especially the QB. if he has good escape abilities, it would make your life more pleasant. ;D good luck to any coach faced with this dilemma, success will definitely earn him coach of the year.
  13. Jerry Jones'll sign him up for 40mill ;D ,just kidding.Sorry to hea this, oh man.
  14. I'm proud of them JAGS :) :)
  15. It was 2003, and I skipped it for a reason. He only coached one season. He was more like a intrum then anything.
  16. Good choice NDN's. Good luck next season
  17. 3 to 4 years tops barring quick success. Could be gone even quicker. Outside coaches are building resumes.
  18. So if one guy from the refinery gets promoted and doesn't meet expectations then the next time a promotion is available then it should go outside the plant? i think BMT has a few coaches that;s deserving a chance. Outside coaches will just keep coming and going. Mitchell did good when he took over at BCP, playoffs first year. Long time BMT native. Dixon had his ups and downs, but he had his moments in the playoffs. Stump is do very well for WestBrook. Sedberry, Suggs, Stowers all departed after a few years. Dixon proved coaches from this area will stay. I just think we should not give up on them if the first year is not successful. Remember last season for Stowers. Now remember this season.
  19. our 2004 team's record was 1-9. Stowers came in and won the district championship in 2005, mostly on talent. Next year, there will be no shortage on talent. BTW, don't ever compare us to Ozen!!! ;D ;D I predict Rodney Saveat will pick a coach that will keep our ship a float. We will be in the thick of things. We won't be as bad as people may predict. Look out for these Jags they'll have something to prove. A year a go with Stowers at the helm we fell off. This year we regrouped. The core of kids that went to the fourth round, at majority are back. We lost a few kids but believe me, we will be excited to watch on offense this year. QB position will be quality at it's finest. Jags will emulate the Suggs and Stowers years.
  20. Stowers has done what he was put here to do. It was his time to move on. Now it's time for someone else to take what he's done for the program and keep it going. the business part of it is just what it is. Good luck to him and I wish him well. I have nothing but good thoughts for him. The question now is what is BISD gonna do for the kids. Their choice for a new coach is what's on the table now.
  21. Not to mention the sloppy G play. the G is the QB and he's got to protect the ball. Too many turn overs. Defense looked lost under the basket a few times also.
  22. Hate to call a kid out but, #21 hit half his free throws LU win this. First time I've seen the Cards this year and I must say, he has a knack for getting to the line. If he just practice his free throws!!!!!! He must have hit 3 or 4 out of 12. Game should not have went into over time.
  23. Who wouldn't say that? There are quite of few people who would take 75 grand to be a HC in BMT where they are from! In fact they could be satisfied rubbing elbows w/ the right people and not have a clue about what to do vs cover 2 or how to roll the safeties to cov 3...like Stowers taught! Kenneth Ruben is coaching in Nebraska right now. He's earning his degree right now. He said he will be applying for the position. And he looks to build on that loyalty I've been speaking of. Hell like I said, the coach Central need may already be right under BISD's nose.
  24. Good luck to Coach. I wish him well in FW/D. It's gonna be rougher before smoother over there. Compitition is gonna be something else. Jags just gonna have to regroup. BISD need to look at themselves and see why it is they can't hold on to coaches. The athletes are there. I gotta agree something is wrong. But i've talked and ex Jag that says him and a few other exes would like to come in and solidify this program.
