Sometimes the polls can be wrong you know.
WHAT'S YOUR OPINION? DO YOU THINK ANY OF THESE GIRLS DESERVE TO HAVE BEEN RANKED ON ANY POLL OR IN THEIR DISTRICT? HONESTLY? -
Posting in all caps is against the rules for this website. Look at the forum rules for more. Harris was the best player on her team and the best I've seen in 20-4A. I would have been shocked if she wouldn't have it.
YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHOCKED THEN!!! :-* WITH ALL THESE RANKINGS/POLLS ETC... ASIA IS ON ALL OF THEM!!! :o STILL MAKES YOU WONDER ABOUT THE DISTRICT VOTING!! ??? I AM WITH YOU HILLGUY...THEY MUST HAVE BEEN VOTING FOR THEIR TEAMS ONLY AND NOT LOOKING AT THE ENTIRE DISTRICT AND THAT'S ASHAME!! :-[ AND I STILL LIKE ALL CAPS!!! ;D -
I think you can make a really good case for Harris. Every year there is debate on who gets district MVP in most districts...is it the best player in the district or the one player who means more to her team than any other player to their team. I think that Harris is close to number one in both of those cases. Without her, Liv may not even make the playoffs. So she is VERY valuable to her team. Oh and by the way...how far you go in the playoffs makes no difference whatsoever, since the voting usually takes place in the first week after the season. So the fact that Ozen went to the final four doesnt matter...the players had already been chosen before that. You think think the district picks were screwed up? Take a look at the all-state pics! How does a "good" freshman from 19-4a get selected for all-state, when "great" players like Booker, Jones, and several others DON'T. What the heck is going with that?????? BOOKER DID GET FIRST TEAM ALL STATE!!! :o
-

Congrats Daylyn!! Can't wait to watch you play at SFA!!
Teardrop is not going to get the concept of MVP anymore than he can find the "caps lock" key... ;D
I AM NOT A HE!!! :P I LIKE THE CAP LOCK KEY...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! :P AND I DO GET THE CONCEPT OF THE MVP. I DID NOT KNOCK HARRIS FOR GETTING MVP!! I SAID BOOKER WAS A GOOD CANDIDATE ALSO!! CAN YOU READ? :o I JUST STATED THAT THE OTHER WINNERS WERE QUESTIONABLE. ??? BOOKER SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN SOME KIND OF DISTRICT HONORS BESIDES FIRST TEAM!! BUT, ONCE AGAIN THAT IS MY OPINION AND I AM ENTITLED TO IT!! ;) -
thats why i said she deserves being mvp. i know she won mvp also. i was just wondering why the 1st place team or the team that went the farthest didnt win it cause their teams did place higher. central would not have won district if it didnt have jalesha and ozen wouldnt have made the trip to austin without asia, and livingston wouldnt have made the playoffs with out ms. harris, but they were a 3rd place team that went one an done in the playoffs. i believe that all three were deserving of the award but i am not sure that ms. harris is the clear cut mvp of the district in my eyes. of the three i mention 2 won superalatives
FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD, THE COACHES VOTED FOR THESE HONORS. IN MY OPINION, BOOKER/HARRIS MVP, OFFENSIVE - BOOKER/HARRIS, DEFENSIVE - THOMAS. AT LEAST AUSTIN SAW THE TALENT!!! THIS LIST IS BAFFLING ??? WHAT EVERYONE ELSE SAW... ??? -

I DONT AGREE WITH THE WAY THIS LIST LOOKS. ??? SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!! :-\ I AGREE WITH THE MVP, ASIA BOOKER COULD HAVE GOTTEN IT ALSO. BUT, SOME OF THE OTHER WINNERS ARE SUSPICIOUS ??? I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO BE THE FLY ON THE WALL TO SEE THE WAY THAT VOTING WENT. -
From my research it appears that #20 is Keaira Arion. Congrats, Keaira!!!
correct!!

#20 FROM KELLY DID MAKE THE ALL DISTRICT TEAM. SHE ALSO MADE FIRST TEAM ALL STATE, AND WAS SELECTED TO PLAY IN THE ALL STAR TAPPS TOURNAMENT IN SAN ANTONIO IN JUNE. SHE ALSO PLAYED IN THE GREATED HOUSTON AREA ALL STAR GAME THIS WEEKEND, AND CAME AWAY MVP. WAY TO REPRESENT SOUTHEAST TEXAS!!!! :D AT LEAST BOTH ENDS ARE COVERED FROM PUBLIC TO PRIVATE SCHOOL HERE IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS!!!
This has nothing to do with a lack of crude oil. Saudi Arabia has already announced that it would be able to raise its production to offset any losses from Libya. There are lots of companies trading oil in the market that don't pump it out of the ground, refine it into fuels or sell those fuels to the public. They play the market and try to capture values from swings in prices. More oil is not the answer right now, stability and less interference from outsiders is. As for schools saving money on travel by playing boys and girls at the same venue on the same night, wrong. Every school in our district sent a separate bus for the boys and the girls where ever they went. It was a good idea to get overall attendance up.
MAYBE YOU MISUNDERSTOOD ME, I MEANT THAT THE GIRLS/BOYS PLAY THE SAME VENUE ON THE SAME NIGHT, INSTEAD OF THE GIRLS HOME AND THE BOYS AWAY PLAYING THE SAME OPPONENTS. (NOT BUS RIDES) BUT, THE ISSUE IS STILL CUTTING ATHLETICS OUT OF THE SCHOOLS. AND IT REALLY ISN'T FAIR FOR THE FRESHMEN/JUNIOR VARSITY. CUTTING THEIR GAMES TO SAVE MONEY IS UNJUST!!!! SOMETIMES THEIR GAMES ARE BETTER TO WATCH THAN THE VARSITY!! :D
I heard a report on the radio this morning that 1000 school districts in Texas could be forced to cut UIL sports completely to survive the state budget cuts. Is this just a media ploy to get the publics attention or a very real possibility in the face of the deep cuts? Would like to get everyone's perspective on this as I think that either way, Texas sports is going to look differently at this time next year.
I KNOW THAT THIS YEAR A LOT OF SCHOOLS CANCELLED THE FRESHMAN AND JUNIOR VARSITY GAMES TO SAVE MONEY. AND, WHEN THE GIRLS WERE AWAY AND THE BOYS WERE HOME, OR VICE VERSA, THEY STOPPED THAT, AND HAD THE BOYS AND GIRLS PLAY HOME TOGETHER TO SAVE TRAVEL EXPENSES. THEY ALSO CUT THE MILEAGE FEE FOR THE OFFICIALS. BUT, SINCE GAS IS ALMOST $3 OR $4 A GALLON, IT WILL BE HARD TO FIND OFFICIALS WHO WILL TRAVEL TO OUTSIDE TOWN FOR LITTLE OR NOTHING.
Won't happen ;D They may not even make it past Foster IMO. Pretty impressive player and stats though...no mention of college commit?
After I have done further research, I saw that they only beat North Forest by 5 points, so.........
DID SHE PLAY IN THIS GAME? CENTRAL, OZEN, AND MEMORIAL BEAT NORTH FOREST BY OVER 20 POINTS. -
