Yeah, I have to agree with this. WOS for a half but it would be like when y'all played Foster...no two way starters, mostly seniors, substitutes. The bigger schools would wear y'all out. I believe you could win 5A Div 2 but after that...the roster difference would kill y'all. These are tough hypotheticals because I don't believe ANYONE in 4A stands a chance with y'all. Period. One other thing on my edit....money and coaching. Not to take anything from Coach Thompson but the bigger, richer schools facilities and higher priced coaching staffs make a huge difference as well. Take a trip up US 287 to the Kennedale area and look at the high school facilities starting with Ennis. You could put Da' Butch IN that stadium. Heck, I'm amazed at the little league facilities my grandson plays in.

skipper, La Marque is 3A Div 1. out of District 12. They have a kid at RB who is pretty high up on the recruiting list.

The road to the District 21-5A Championship goes through New Caney and Texan Stadium.

Y'all keep saying PAM is Tier 1 and automatic but I'm not sold. Let's see how they fair with nederville and as they get further in the schedule. Again, I don't think anyone goes through this district undefeated. PAM is going to have he11 with our offense because they haven't played it before. Every 6A school we face does because it's not an offense for them to run due to their depth. PNG vs. Vidor this year is gonna be as good as a game as us and ned. Right now, our kids are full of confidence which is a rare commodity for Vidor football. Exciting times and well worth the $6 price of admission. Cheap.

I have the statistics to prove what I'm talking about...or maybe you can explain to me losing to them for 35 years in their home stadium...and playing back to back games....on their field....or playing them the first game of the season four years in a row....or that winning Vidor TD drive lined with penalty flags helping. I'm 57 years old and been watching it happen a long, long time and i'm sick of it. Maybe you want to shoot for another 35 years because our kids are just "crummy".

Ozen should have gone to 4A...not fair to their kids. I keep arguing the point for breaking 5A into two Divs like 4A, etc. but it falls on deaf ears. Hard to play against schools with 500 more kids to chose from than you.

Not to take anything away from Lumberton but after Friday night my friend, I wouldn't look to the past on Vidor. Those kids stomped it into the dirt and buried it. I am a proud Pirate right now.

This is one of those games I thought would be for a playoff spot. Preseason I had it like this: PAM, PNG, Vidor-Lumberton in no specific order. Babin was a great choice for coach and I see this being a one TD game just because of the rivalry (good) between the two schools.

The difference is Maverick Quirante at QB. He was hurt last year and missed the season with a knee injury. He knows how to run that offense. Also, we made some big changes to the defensive alignment going away from a 3 / 4 flex to four down front. Last year's team didn't have the heart from its' senior leadership this one does and that is everything on a football team. Finally, Jeff Mathews, Jeff Mathews, Jeff Mathews.

No one is downgrading teams son. It has nothing to do with the wonderful kids that play for Nederland or for Vidor. The fact that your a newbie says it all; you need to be a little better versed in the nuances of this board and the history of Vidor / Nederland football. You don't lose for 35 years in someone's home stadium without some home cooking among other things. Period. End of story. Nothing to do with the kids. I just intend on calling it out with the UIL over the next few months, legally if I have to. We deserve two home games in a row unless you like playing in nederville every year. Congratulations to the 16 - 18 year old children who fought so hard in that game for both sides. It's the adults I have problems with.
