  1. Perhaps but I think no one gets out of district without one or two losses. A lot of football left. Right now, PNG is the pick of the litter with five other teams vying for 3 playoff spots. To me, getting a win the first district game is huge. Gonna be fun this year!!!!
  2. Given the history of this series, I believe it will be a touchdown close. From what I saw of PAM vs. Bay, they have a lot of speed but also made a lot of mistakes. Central is battle tested and PAM hasn't played a complete game. However, I believe PAM by a TD in a close one 35 - 28.
  3. I would love to start a Vidor vs. WOS regular season series again instead of yearly scrimmage. Those were always epic battles in the past. I just think that WOS doesn't need to see another slot-T team again is why it will never materialize.
  4. I wasn't at the game but this much I know about Vidor vs. Central...they get up to play each other. We're not going to get a fair shake from anyone until we get rid of the BH game which will only come with victories but I think we're a much better team than a lot of you realize. Take nothing away from Central. Let's see if they adjust and play a better game against PAM.
  5. If #23 keeps playing the type of football he has in the last two weeks, we'll be in the hunt.
  6. A lot of football left to be played. We helped ourselves out a tremendous amount with the Central victory (and I know there was a smirk on your face when you posted that) but it will take five victories to get there and no one is going undefeated. nederville needs to worry about their next game instead of what Vidor does. No rivalry here....
  7. I deleted him. Don't care where the fight starts, just jump in and stop it. Tired of it being on this board. Football only, there is a politics forum.
  8. I'll get the other one deleted as well...you know me, I don't play any of that crud. Stay with football unless you're talking about nederville.
  9. Mav was out all of last year with a knee injury during the summer which he had corrected. I'm not gonna say he's Montana but he has the physical tools...when he's on the field he's the best athlete out there...just like his brother. If he starts believing he can do it, sky's the limit. Just sayin'
  10. Warning to you all...don't go there or I will delete every bit of it. Jeff Matthews does not teach that crap nor does he tolerate it, and neither do I.
  11. I'm only gonna say "I told you so"! If #23 starts believing, who's the monster now! Wish I could have been there. Sadly, my grandson's team lost for the first time.
  12. Is Gary Joseph still coaching there? They will be fine.
  13. I'll jump into this thread since I'm back on the computer after Whitney's victory over Hillsboro tonight. First, as I said earlier, Central vs. Vidor contests are NEVER blowouts and usually great football games. Example: last year, were it not for one Devwah Whaley making a spectular play from Central's one yard line on a fumbled ball on third down, it could have easily been a Vidor victory. I believe the score was 28 - 21 at that time. And, since we're talking about all the monsters out there, you know which monster was missing last year from that game? Ol' #23 for the Pirates with a broken knee. Leckelt, Humble and Quirante aren't too bad of a backfield with Mav at QB. Jeff made wholesale changes on that defense including the scheme after the BH game going to four down linemen which we should have been in from way last year. If this #23 gets it in his head that he is every bit as good as his brother was, and he is every bit the athlete, it might be a long night for Central. He had 147 yards against Pasadena Memorial. And, he didn't play QB against BH until the second half. We were in BH's red zone three times in the first half and I sure would have liked to see if they could have stalled the offense with Mav at the helm. Wish I could be at the game tomorrow, it will be well worth the $6. GO PIRATES! CRUSH CENTRAL!
  14. What depths Dawson has sunk to. Please tell me SCDawgs isn't coming back to the board. We have enough of that with the Cosby fans.
  15. 1. Barbers Hill 2. Jasper 3. Evadale 4. Humble 5. Dayton 6. Baytown Lee 7. Nederland 8. Port Neches-Groves 9. New Caney 10. Huffman Hargrave 11. Little Cypress-Mauriceville 12. West Orange-Stark 13. Liberty 14. Newton 15. Shepherd 16. Tarkington 17. Woodville 18. Vidor 19. Buna 20. Shelbyville 21. Hull-Daisetta 22. West Sabine 23. Groveton 24. High Island 25. Beaumont Legacy Christian
  16. 42 - 21 WOS. If anyone knows how to play the 'Stangs, it's Dwayne Dubois. I think BC will keep it a little closer than everyone thinks they will. Slot-T gives WOS fits because it nullifies a little speed on defense but BC's defense won't be able to control Jack Dallas and co. I liken it to Vidor's scrimmage with the Ponies. Still, just a bump in the road to state.
  17. I sure hope Cosby wins...what was that score last year? It wasn't close was it?
  18. 14 defensive points (not counting PATs) on interceptions...I'm really thinking about lowering my predicted score for Saturday. Three scores by either team may be hard to come by.
  19. Buddy was pretty disappointed in the way Dayton was playing against Ned; PAM's performance was just icing on the cake. BOOM BOOM, out go the lights!
  20. Football season is cursed in 21 and 22 5A....this is a weird year.
  21. This will be the usual great football game worth three times the $6 admission. Unfortunately, since it's on Saturday, I will be watching my bestest buddy play football in Crowley...9 year old Whitney Wildcats! If the Vidor Pirates that played Thursday with #23 at QB show up, 28 - 27 Pirates. NDNation, Coach Westerberg is gonna do that to a bunch of people this year...their next victim will be Cosby this Friday, you'll see. He is the real deal.
  22. Been saying it since our game with BH, they're for real. And, they're gonna beat Cosby this week....
  23. I've wanted to build a new stadium for a while and won't completely fault BH or its' fans for complaining over the condition of our football field. It was pretty well a mud hole after two weeks of constant rain. I can remember playing Nederland in Bulldog Stadium 2009 and having the same conditions there from a couple weeks of SETX liquid sunshine. Having a new scoreboard is great but I would have rather a turf field. Kids are bigger and faster today than 20 - 30 (or 40 in my case) years ago. It is on the radar screen for us to install a new turf field in the next 2 - 3 years depending on the money situation; I actually believe our team plays better on turf. Anyway, the scoreboard we have is used, not sure who we bought it from but it is nice.
  24. Congratulations Indians on a great game. If I have my wish this year....
