When we won our first football game against Beaumont Forest Park in 1975 after being 0 - 44, Crossroads parking lot overflowed into main street with partiers. There was even a band that showed up on a flatbed (I think it was Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs). This went on until daylight and the Vidor Police just let it go. If Vidor won state that would prove the Mayan calendar wrong because our world would end before December 21st. This had the makings of a great thread.

OK, one last time, just so the little puppies and indians understand, I didn't start this thread to get under your skin for fun...even though it ranks up there with the BH playoff win thread. It was started to ridicule y'all because you will post away on this site but don't show up for any of the broadcasts. I DON'T CARE ABOUT MID COUNTY MADNESS BUT OTHER LISTENERS DO. What will it take for you guys to show up and support the show and your team? Get it? Believe me, this thread would have gotten deleted a long time ago if I didn't have upper management support. I DON'T HAVE MODERATOR PRIVILEDGES....

BTW, I only need one good karma point to make 100....wow!!!

At da' Butch, Central's homecoming, Central has more speed than Vidor...is there a reoccuring theme here? Grant it, Pirates / Jags always a great game but here are tbe real differences. 1. Coaching. Definitely believe we have the edge. In high school ball, it's everything. 2. Stamina. We wear teams down in the second half (see Ozen game). Speed only last as long as you can breathe. BTW, have you seen Montana or Justin Moore with the ball? 3. Heart. Our boys don't quit so expect four quarters. I venture to say we have won the fourth in every game this year. 4. Your defense against our offense. If you can't stop it, your not getting many touches on the football and it will wear you down. Our defense has proven itself against speed this year (Clear Brook, Nederland, Ozen); ozen only had 16 yards in the second half. Close game in the first half, we pull away in the second. Vidor 35, Central 21.

Raidergirl, I was a Pirate when we went 0 - 44. I remember the pall that hung over our school, especially with the jokes like Interstate 10, Vidor nothing. Losing, or winning for that matter, never last forever. I admire your loyalty. My senior year, we went 5-4-1 and you would think we had won state. Two years later, we won district. Hang in there, y'all will turn it around....we did.

I think all of y'all are jumping to way too many conclusions way too early for the following reasons: 1. There are three reasons a head coach leaves; he gets fired because he stinks, he has the bizarre notion he can lead his alma mater to a state crown or, he gets a better offer. 4A head coaching gigs aren't a dime a dozen and last I saw, he's top 3 pay-wise in the area. 2. They feed that purple meth to those kids from the first grade on. He'll get more talent. 3. THIS SEASON AIN'T OVER! Should he get png into the playoffs, he'll re-obtain minor god status and all we right @ the mouth of the Neches.

Montana wouldn't see another down if it were my decision. Austin needs the work @ qb. This game is a little too chippy for me.
