nederville fans, we're selling visitor side tickets at the gymnasium starting at 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. if you want to get your tickets early. I went today and there were some puppy fans in line that got theirs. Plenty of tickets for your side available but the Pirate side is selling out pretty fast. 95% of reserve seating is gone.

I've had about fifteen cousins who graduated from Nederland High. Back in the day, been to a couple of their proms. Dated / lived with about five women from there. One of my best friends was a coach and still teaches there. The first time we EVER beat them in football was my senior year...1975/76. I've had that puppydog crud rubbed in my face now for 40+ years. I asked liltex if he wanted to go fishing Friday morning on the Neches River. He said "you sure you want to take the chance the day of the big game? The truck could break down, the boat could break down, you could hook yourself in the eye..." Good point. We'll go fishing another time. My boss asked me to work "a little while" tomorrow. Knowing my luck, one of the cat crackers will melt to the ground and I'll be stuck out here all day and miss maybe the biggest football game ever at the Boneyard. I told her that tomorrow is a "Holy-day" and I wouldn't be able to break religion and commit the ultimate sin against the football gods. Then I would have to go to my LDS friends I sit with at the game and ask for absolution. Nope, tomorrow is a holy-day and I live within walking distance of the stadium.... I'm saying because I'm close the school and have been Booster in the past. Visitor side seats 3500. Subtract band / drill team. Now, how many season ticket holders in Ned.? Same for PNG... both y'all pack the stands. Do the math. If we continue to put a quality team on the field, and we will, I can see the series moving. Get to the game early and you get tickets; no one is gonna send ALL their visitor game tickets out.  BTW, it's hard for the Vidor fans to get tickets as well. It's a big game for both teams.

Certainly, y'all ain't that ignert! We sent the appropriate amount for the season ticket holders, all others can buy their tickets AT THE VISITOR GATE! We don't allow Pirate fans on the visitor side and we're not selling those tickets until the day of the game. Please,quit being so dang condescending and grow up.

If it were up to me, you wouldn't have gotten any tickets...tired of the barking, cow bells and propane jugs with beebees in them. BTW, I still have those portable deer stands up; $300 a chair now.

[/quote] I can't speak for the rest of the fans on the board, only myself so here goes. First, I enjoy the smack talk as long as it stays about football and doesn't get into other crud. I'm a smart a__ and like it; why wouldn't you want to do that here...it's addictive. Especially when you do have a good football team, and we have a good football team. Second, we Pirates have enormous respect for the programs PNG and Nederland have...our goal all along has been to copy your success and we believe the formula is in place to do that. We're building on five pretty good years now and looking toward the future with some great kids coming up through Jeff's program. The problem is that a lot of people are condescending towards us because of our city's past whether some want to admit it or not; it gets really old after awhile and is a touchy subject. I think I've said this before but I'll say it again; there is about a nickel's difference between the kids @ Vidor, PNG, Ozen, Central, Ned, WOS...etc. I love it when people think they grow a better grade of child in their school district. Most of their parents work for petrochemical or petrochemical service industries. Vidor is no different. The demographics of our city have changed tremendously over the last 20 years and there are some extremely successful people that are from here and live here. The past is the past, we can't change that but we can change the future and have...GO PIRATES!!!

I think what impresses me most about him this year is his speed. Last year he got caught from behind a lot, this year not so. The one breakaway against Clear Brook showed his pace this year. Any college that gets this kid is gonna get a ballplayer in the mold of Dat Nguyen.

The Black Pearl sets sail on a recon mission up the Trinity scouting two possible playoff adversaries we may have to send to Davy Jones' locker!

Same defensive backfield as last year with Bryce Cooper playing sweeper.
