OK, had some bad luck Friday...house broken into. OC Sheriff department is on the case. Anyway, because of this I miss the Pirate scrimmage Friday. So, I do something I normally don't do and invest $1 in the Beaumont piece of crud newspaper on Saturday morning, turn to the sports section and there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about any of the scrimmages in the paper. I'm sorry, but the biggest sporting event in this area is high school football and you have nothing? Last dollar I waste. I'll buy the Vidorian from now on....

You can't rate a football team on scrimmages. Most coaches aren't going to play their hosses that much...Nederland has a good team and it will a battle in 20-4A this year. I'm not silly enough to believe a scrimmage result...check back about three games into the real season. BTW, all of this is coming from a Pirate fan.

The win / loss ratio and records on Lonestar Football are correct.

Once every four years, like the Olympics, they come to Vidor. Sooner or later, we're going to be their homecoming. BTW, I think if you look @ our schedule from last year we played both of the Bmt schools @ "da B_tch"....both were Pirate victories. Personally, I wish you all would schedule us for your homecoming. I like seeing the opposing teams mascara running down their faces...

[/quote] SoulJa, thanks for the great post. Class act and I always feel that the Central / Vidor game is our game of the year. Great rivalry with good hitting. Anyway, you know Montana's my boy but there are several others on that team who will bring some heat this year. Watch Jon Boy Smith who is a definite college prospect along with Austin Rodriguez and Bryce Cooper. Godeaux will be tough at linebacker as well. Stephenson is gonna show as one of the district's top running backs as well. Throw in the guy I think is the best coach in the are and I expect a lot from this Pirate team....and I think they'll deliver.
