And rumor has it Mr. Bolinger might be joining them.  8)
That would be a smart move on David's part....stay in shape for next year in college. It will take a couple of weeks to get in sinc but I believe Larry can get them there. I think we will surprise a few people come district.
  5. For everything you have done for our community, our school and our kids. We are extremely proud of you and the Pirates and looking forward to next year with great anticipation. You are without a doubt the best Athletic Director in 20-4A and mentor to our children. God bless you and your family.

  7. The great thing about this year now is that most of this team is back NEXT YEAR!!!!
  8.
Congrats Vidor on a great season. Y'all had a heck of a team and played hard the whole game. Now for the fans I got one word, WOW. The fan support is amazing and they stayed loud throughout the whole game. It was a pleasure playing y'all.
Same here about ya'll. You have a heck of a team.
  9. Super Pirates, thank you for an outstanding year and a great run. You played to every ounce of talent you had and with a lion's heart. For some of us old guys, you were an answered prayer for all the years of heartache we've had to endure. Seniors, God bless you all in your endeavours in life; take the team work and tenacity your learned from this and you will do well in life. Juniors and underclassmen: 2012 FOOTBALL SEASON STARTS TODAY!!! There is no "time off"!!! A district championship and another run at state is earned this summer running and in the weight room. We expect HUGE things from you next year, GO OUT AND GET 'EM!! 10. You have a great team; size, speed and talent. Well coached and good game plan. The better team won the game and I think you will do well in your run for state. Good luck as you advance. Oh, BTW, we'll be back! Most of our team returns next year.
  11. I'll be moving over to the basketball thread with Montana and Steve Dahlenburg. Great year!!
  12. We appreciate all the support we got from the area. Thanks to all the area schools....GO DOGS and PANTHERS!!!
  13. Great season for both teams. Broncos with tradition, Pirates starting theirs...
  14. I thought those words would ever come out of this fervent Pirate fans' mouth but there is nothing I would love to see more than Black and Gold Bowl 2. How about let's keep the good karma going and both win for SE Tex....you know they'll need Reliant Stadium to seat us all. Good luck against Dawson tomorrow. 15.

I am a Pirate fan that has bled black and gold from the time that I was 4 years old . My brother was on the 1979 team and I looked up to him with the upmost respect . I can remember wearing his Pirate helmet around the house even though it was heavy enough to make me fall over . I can remember never missing a game from that point until now . My brother and I would always go to the games together after he graduated and root on our beloved Pirates no matter what our record or the the situation was  and it seemed like our love only grew fonder for this underdog of a team . I can remember watching the 44 game losing streak but never losing faith in the thought that this team and community that was never given a chance would one day overcome adversity . Well my brother died in 2000 and I found myself going by his grave today to tell him " I wish you were here to see it bro " "this team is special " . See , Its so much more than football to me and my family . It always has been. Its about a community that has been made fun of and ridiculed and sterotyped for as long as I remember . This team is changing things and as I look at the monitor through my tears with snot running from my nose I can truly say that "  I  AM PROUD TO BE A VIDORIAN " .
AMEN! Lost my dad in 03. Wish he was here to see this in person. Too many times I heard him tell people the Beaumont area when asked where he lived. I'm proud to say that his grandkids (one on the team) will be the first to say I AM FROM VIDOR. As of late, the response is "I've heard of yall, yall have a good football team." That's from Oklahoma to Port Lavaca,TX. Times are changing and the past is dying.
I lost my father in '98 and he actually took me to the game we lost to San Marcos. Like you all, I wish he were here to see his beloved Pirates play. He was a season ticket holder and never missed a game until his health got too bad to attend. I worked in Baytown last week and I can tell you personally, we have a heck of a lot of respect from 19-4A and that idiotic stigma is going away. I AM PROUD TO BE A VIDORIAN AS WELL.

Here we are Dayton,Ned,Ozen,Vidor once again @ least another week in hs Playoffs in rd #3.Once again by all the site polls all picked to lose starting tonight.Only 1 week ago we were all in the same boat, according to the pollsters 1 that was doomed to sink.Wait was it a miracle that happened 4 times-NOT, these gritty Setx teams hit em in the mouth.Facing the giants w/multiple weapons and speed DCTF staff pics it-Manvel by 9-Angleton by 8-LaMarque by 7 Dawson by 2 .Teams who is your GIANT today and tomorrow.David slayed Goliath w/a slingshot and we got 4 top of the line slingshots so LET'S DO THIS For Your Team,Your Community,Your Pride,& Your Commitment to NEVER GIVE UP-GO SETX ;) ;) ;) ;) 8) 8) 8) 8)
I like that line of thinkin liltex... Ya know, Polls have alot in common with opinions... 'nuf said!!  ;D
I totally agree with both of you. I think next year I'll save my $20 and Dave Campbell can keep his magazine.
  17.
What about the Vidor Pirates short playoff run which had a massive offensed Line and a great running game just like this years team, but I feel lacked a passing game. I remember the 3 headed monster #25 Pitman/Tate and #30 Peevey .It seemed as if Peevy had all the tools to make a good college football player,he had speed, could block, catch ball.I was wondering if he is currently playing college football anywhere.
I enjoyed watching ya'll thoroughly. Friends with the Larramores. I thought ya'll did a great job and set the groundwork for this year's team. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for all ya'll did that year. Collin, you had a great year, not taking anything away from the '09 team.
  18. Just hoping he get's another chance to try those Jedi mind tricks against my Pirates in a week or so....
  19. is in today's Vidorian Shopper. I'm sure it will be in The Vidorian Friday as well. Huge tragedy. God bless his family and loved one's through this trying time.
  20.
The winner's high for Vidor will wear off as the week goes on and realism will set in.  Angleton 52 Vidor 21
If your defense can't stop our offense, there is no way you score 52. You can't score if you don't have the ball. And we love taking 5 - 6 minutes to punch in TDs.... Vidor 42, Angleton 28.
"Spoil the child and avoid Child Abuse Charges"...Ever heard of that..... ;D ;D
Unfortunately, that's the problem today.  Children get no discipline today and run wild.
