Robanadana is spot on with this.  I seriously doubt that any school is "scared" to come into 22-5A.  They will line up and take their chances.  My question is a bit opposite of one asked earlier which is, why the eagerness to have either Dayton or the Hill join 22-5A?  If the UIL manages to keep Nacogdoches to the North and Lee, Dayton and Barbers Hill to the west, the longest trip in 22-5A (or whatever the district is named after the realignment), the longest jaunt for a district game will be from Port Arthur to Lumberton.  I think that would make A NUMBER of AD's, as well as fans, very happy!

No matter where Nac goes someone is gonna complain. Actually, them coming to 22-5A makes about as much sense as Livingston did. If I had my way we would be divided into 5A DI and DII districts but I don't get my way.

Need us for extra points, field goals and last minute saving tackles. Just saying. I'm from the school that says your football team plays futbol in the off season = better football both ways.

. . . And the district gets even tougher, smh. Porter has about 1,800 kids right now. They'll probably be right at 2,000 for the '18 realignment. He basically is getting the same type of athletes and enrollment he had at K-Park. Very good hire for Porter. 

TXHOOPS I think you make a good point about the mid-range jumper and I'm a believer in defense if we get back to high school ball and away from the pros. Three things Brian English emphasized coaching while he was at Vidor:
1. Defense...every practice.
2. Free throws...every practice.
3. Mid range jump shots. It is awfully hard to beat a team that does these three things well...especially shoot those little 10 footers that kill the other team. I don't see too many teams that play that game anymore and I don't think it's emphasized anymore. Go to the hole and throw it out for a three...pretty well everyone's game plan IMO. Good old school jump shooting teams are hard to find.

Our bigs in the USA are limited in their skills compared to foreign  bigs who are in the lab learning the fundamentals, like shooting,  passing,  blocking out,  footwork,  mid range  and CATCHING the darn ball. Hmmm,  did I say dunking? Oh,  that's us in this country who care more about dunks than the fundamentals of mid range shooting and learning the game. 

Kids playing summer ball > kids on the streets

Depends on the organization and coach. But overall, yes Kobe IS correct. But playing AAU ball, even for a coach that doesn't teach you anything, is better than sitting at home all summer playing video games or getting into trouble. It's the lessor of two evils.

28 pages is alot to go through but it's been fun going back in forth with Texans and cowboys fans.  but I nailed it 10-6 , 9-7 fighting till the end. 

Wouldn't have give O'Brien a chance to be back next year after 5 games into the season.  But with all the trouble at qb and Foster going down, he has actually done a great job this year.  Maybe he's a better coach than I have given him credit for.
