Cedar Park Vista Ridge came in 3rd place and was just beat in the semis by GR. Their previous 2 losses came to Cedar Park and Austin Vandegrift who they beat in the regionals. I understand the not every body gets a ribbon thing but some districts warrant at the very least 3 teams making the playoffs.

I have never put much stock in the AP All State. It's based solely off regular season stats and most of the AP writers that vote are clueless.

Miserable assessment. This guy is who makes that Crosby offense go. Also, one of the most gifted guys I've ever seen at promoting kids and getting them opportunities at the next level. If GCM does their homework, I think Mann is the hire. Good luck coach.

Really good article.  So..Westlake and Lake Travis are two highest paid coaches in Austin area?  Where have I seen those school names before...Austin Westlake.  Austin Lake Travis.
Oh...that's right.  They're both playing in the 6A title game this coming weekend.  What a crazy coincidence.

It would be interesting to see which of the jobs out of Dayton, BH and GCM got the most applicants and where they came from. I think that would say a lot about how those openings are currently viewed by the coaching community. Especially the BH vs Dayton applicants.  

We have one of the best coaching staffs in the State of Texas. Trust me, they will have them prepared. The question is will the kids execute the plan and not take any plays off. I saw a little bit of that last game. Unnaceptable at WOS. This is THE game of games so the kids have to give it 112% every play, every series and every quarter. If we do that, we win. Plain and simple.

Yeah Buddy, Kennedale sure loaded that team up...how far did they get? My grandson's little league team from Whitney whups up on them regularly.

Im sure by February WOS will be all over the TXSPW all state team which includes regular season and playoff games . This happened last year as well (a poor representation of setx players on the ap all state team ) , to say the kid from silsbee is an HM qb when he played the same amount of games as the kid from liberty and put up numbers that was  far better than the Texarkana kid that made 1st team. Epler threw for 5,000 yards and 71 tds in 16 games last year . Dt had a total similar and all he got was an hm when that got eppler player of the year (offensive) and dt played in 14 games . Setx gets no respect

It's a cool thing how SETX football fans come together in moments like these. I can remember going to playoff games years ago in the Astrodome (and other stadiums as well) when West Brook, PNG, Nederland, Silsbee, BCP, French, were making deep playoff runs and seeing people from schools all over the Golden Triangle. One in particular was seeing people wearing custom made T-shirts saying "PNG supports West Brook" the year the Bruins won state. Good memories.
For every non-WO-S fan who will be attending the state championship game, it would be a welcome gesture if you would wear a shirt, jacket, or something that signifies the high school you support. We want to know where you're from, meet some of you, and thank you personally for showing up and supporting the Mustangs, So, wear your school names and colors proudly so we can identify you and say thanks. Feel free to post a reply in this thread saying you're coming and what school/town you're from. Thanks, and go Mustangs!

Our kids want the buses. The school offered Charters and the players turned them down. Going to work not vacation is what they say. Blue collar. 

if  I was with the kids the kids would be so hiper they would as coach to  stop the bus we will  run to Houston
