  3. Kountze JV 34 Hull Daisetta JV 0
  4. NEderland will be fine! Heard they have a sophomore QB that is going to be the real deal?
  5. In the live scrimmage KTZ scored 1 time against Hardin and one against HF. Hardin scored 1 TD and HF scored 0. In the 1st part of the scrimmage where Ktz went 12 plays O and 12 plays D, Ktz scored 2
  6. Their bench will still be the best bench in the district and better than most starters on other teams in the district.
  7. Looks to be another very solid group for sure. I do not think they will be as deep, but could be just as good, if not better! Bush, McCain, Adams, and Barnes seems like 4 of the top basketball players in 4a next season. I believe Chris Martin will have that 5th spot in the starting rotation. That group is scary good
  8. Are there any middle school 7 on 7 football teams looking to get some work in and play some games? If so please contact me asap! Brady Byars 409-782-4247
  9. Let me make sure other people understand this.... I have respect for any person that takes time out of their life and coaches the youth.... And bro, you are right about MOST of the shoe sponsored teams... but not all. Coaching talented kids is not hard. Anyone can get a bunch of all stars and go compete with other teams. What are you going to do when you meet a team with even talent or better talent? I see it ALL the time. One team runs plays, the other don't...One team knows how to defend the pick n roll, the other don't. One team boxes out, the other don't...The list is forever long. Show me that you are teaching fundamentals and the actual game of basketball... Then I will be impressed. I am guilty of this myself... I started coaching select ball around 19-20 years old and was always focused on getting the best of the best instead of developing the dedicated kids that would do anything for me or my organization. It is a learning curve and I have met some amazing people doing it and it has helped me learn and develop into a decent young coach.
  10. Negatives and positives to both sides. And I would never take any of this personal. I have no idea who you are! A parent should always do what they feel is best for their kid. Me personally, I wouldn't be butt hurt over a kid leaving my organization. Especially if it is a better look for the kid. I have had plenty of my kids leave my team to go play for thugs and poor role models. That is what makes me sick. I know of a couple coaches that do drugs in front of the kids they coach and do a lot of things they really shouldn't in front of them. Bottom line is most parents will do what they feel is right for their kid. I just hate seeing it happen when the decision is made that is not the right one.
  11. My 2 cents? Find a coach who cares about the kids and works with the kids on and off the court. Do not fall for the hype of the "big name" organizations. Most of the coaches out here want to use your son/daughter for wins and throw them away after their career is over if they are not successful! It is really getting ridiculous these days. It is all about hype and a status instead of kids getting better and staying loyal. IF A PLAYER IS GOOD ENOUGH, THEY WILL FIND YOU. No matter what team you are on, no matter what shoes you have on, no matter where you are from. Colleges will always talk to the high school coaches anyways....
  12. There are kids on silsbee's team that don't touch the floor that are very athletic and will contribute the next couple of years.
  13. I think this years team was their best team. Even though I know that Devon, Jordyn, Bush, and Chris Martin are going to be animals 2019... I do not see them being as deep and complete as this years team. I still say they win at least 1 more but probably two.
  14. Mike... I think you will be impressed with Jarrel. They play bet fundamental and have shooters that don't even look like basketball players. Also, their big 6'7 kid is the most skilled big kid I've seen on a long time. Probably about 280 pounds and can move. Very smooth
  15. I agree man. #12 has shot, what, 5 threes already? from real deep.
  16. Mike, Lipan plays great man to man defense, but Dime Box looks like they are playing pick up ball.. No plays being ran. Pretty hard to watch
  17. I hope your right and I'm wrong but I don't see it happening. Silsbee will win, but I don't see more than 20 points. They would beat Yates also. This team knows how to play basketball and the program knows how to win big games. Their girls just won their 3rd straight Staye Championship yesterday. They are good in football and everything else. They will be very discipline and not turn the ball over as much as you think. Their coach is a hell of a coach. Silsbee wins 78-61
  18. 59 points is the most a team has scored on Argyle all year... this is not going to be an easy win. Silsbee has ALWAYS struggled with fundamental teams that can break the press and play great half court defense. This is the matchup that losing McCain will be obviously severe... That being said, this is the best team Silsbee has ever had... silsbee wins 78-61
  19. Great team that have been playing together for so long
  20. Devon McCain is Silsbee's best player. PERIOD. Silsbee is very deep and have plenty of pieces. Trajan Harris is the best SCORER, Bush and Adams are the best shooters, Newton and Bush are the ultimate competitors, M. McCain is the slasher, Barnes and Jones are ridiculously athletic on both sides of the ball, plus all the defenders they have... it's hard saying who is best but D. McCain is 6'3, athletic as all get out, great vision, unselfish, can score at will, and rebounds! Silsbee will win state without him, but it's a little harder to do so. As long as they stay focused and take it one game at a time, there will not be a game within 15 points for the tigers. They may only have two kids that have committed to D1 schools... but I see many more getting the same love soon.
  21. I even think my exact words were... no one in silsbee's district will beat them the next 5 years lol. So I would still be on track so far. I also said they would have at least two state championships within the 5 year period. Hopefully this year is the 1st
  22. Oh ok! I thought that's when I started it lol 2 years down, three to go!!!
