  1. Went out to Bridge City today. Hard to see the heartbreak in peoples faces.
  2. Actually Water was over the road from Taco Bell South just about all the way, but got real deep at Park. MacArthur Drive was also underwater for a good bit. Bridge City has been hit real hard with storm surge. Of course downtown Orange was flooded and even some in West Orange. Basically if you were close to any waterway you were probably in trouble. The levee in PA held back the storm surge, so they were lucky there. Good Luck
  3. Winds are beginning to pick up with some pretty strong gusts. Bostwick said the worst should reach us around 2:00 A.M. or so. Stay safe and I will try to update in the morning
  4. I saw them play in Houston. Pretty good softball. I believe Kim Nesloney played CF and made some incredible catches. The speed of both teams was very impressive
  5. Congrats Kid!!!! NSU may never be the same!! ;D ;D JK. Anyway, I hope I get a chance to see you play. Good Luck!!
  6. Congrats, way to go after your dream!
  7. Way to go Ash, but I always knew you were a Demon! ;D ;D ;D Good Luck and I know you will do a great job.
  8. Congrats Megan!!! Good Luck this coming year and when you get to ULL.
  9. Hey, what happened to your other announcement?! Someone has a friend in the moderator community. ;D
  10. The GT Shockers were eliminated today by Texas Blaze 3-0. Still what a great accomplishment. Congrats Girls!!
  11. This is a post for Seniors-To-Be who wish to announce their commitments. I will try to compile a list and delete most reply's to keep it readable an on point. Please include Name, HS, College, and Position.
  12. The Shockers lose game 2 to a very good Washington Lady Hawks Team 2-0. The Lady Hawks won their first game this morning 11-3. This team seems to be there every year, so not a bad showing, but the real deal starts tomorrow.
  13. Congrats Girls! Way to start. Good Luck the rest of the way!
  14. Hey #13, let me know what you think of the CA Cruisers' coach. He and I went 'round and 'round a couple of years ago at the Batbusters' tournament in L.A. He has even less respect for umpires than your buddy Ken Glass. Fortunately, my head was harder than his. Is that the little Hawaii'n dude that keeps yellin com'on kid? I remember him well, gets kind of annoying after awhile.
  15. Congrats on a great tournament and a successful run. These girls will all be better for their experiences as a team. JT
  16. Kristen Schmidt probably averaged around 55-57 MPH the year she won the MVP of the WCWS for LSU. She is probably the only player to win that award on a losing team. While I don't remember Cody's speeds, she was once clocked at 63 in 12U and her Sr. Year she was clocked at 68 against Brenham. I read an interview once by Ragan Blake in which she said that you had to throw 61 to get the true hop on the riseball. With that being said, movement is what it is all about, and I am sure the avg speeds of successful pitchers are all over the board. Cat would be another example of a pitcher who didn't throw too hard but was pretty successful.
  17. Congrats Robert. What a great job this year. From a concept to a Gold National in one year is quite an accomplishment. It's no coincidence that the two toughest coaches I know have both brought teams to the Gold Nationals.
  18. Thats why we never did that, not even in HS. Not sure why Texas HS allows it, when no one else does.
  19. Some colleges use them, not sure of the results. One thing to remember is that in baseball the weighted ball has ruined a many a young arm. Not sure if that would be as evident in softball, but i would check before starting a young pitcher on them.
  20. Good Post. Despite warnings, I took a wait and see attitude, should have took the warnings. I said his actions would speak for Him, and indeed they did. Lastly nothing that was said could be an excuse for the disorganized mess that went on, on College St.
  21. That's true, I don't know Lee, but I heard he stepped in and did a great job of getting the 18 pod organized. As far as the original UIC, I am not sure what happened to him.
  22. I believe I read that there were 2 or 3 teams from the midwest awarded a bid because they were the only one to register for those regionals. They need to award those bids to another region next year.
  23. Your gonna hurt his feelings if you keep talking like that.
