  1. Cazzie Francis was pretty good passer, Buster Ascol was the best running QB, but I believe the best QB at LCM was Clint Plant. Darryl Carr was the best QB at LC.
  2. I would have loretta in the lineup as well, sometimes he would play second. Others he would be at 3B, or SS. Sorry to hear about you and Barry.
  3. He'll be a first ballot HOF'er. He won't get 99% of the vote, but he'll be a first ballot entry. He really compares pretty well with a lot of guys on the list. As far as time for a change, your probably right, but not with anybody on this roster. Looking at the avg's, he would still be on my starting lineup. Apparently Biggio himself is starting to realize this. But the Astro's owe Biggio, he and Bagwell could have left for big money in the prime of their careers but they were loyal to the franchise. It is now the franchises turn to return that loyalty. Biggio is a class guy and deserves to be treated right by the Astros. I have been at the Dome with my kids when they were younger, and as he was leaving the complex, he would often stop and sign autographs for quite awhile. Good to see a good guy get his due, especially when espn expects to stop and worship a punk like barry bonds. This guy exemplifies what is right about baseball.
  4. Here is a comparison of players with similar stats. 5. Actually his BA is higher than Ripkens.
  6. Didn't they try a 2-point conversion on the final score that failed?
  7. "Our first and foremost responsibility is to have students come here, get a top-quality education and graduate," Moffett said. "But there is a side of the university outside of the classrooms. That's student organizations, and that includes our athletic programs. ... It (the return of football) has kindled a spirit and an enthusiasm; an engagement that we didn't have before." This is the part that prior LU administrations did not understand, but I believe the current one does. Hopefully they can make this happen.
  8. He can be mad, but he needs to shut his mouth. Michael Young also sat the bench as does some players every year. I believe he was called a RESERVE. Looks like there may be a deeper rift between those two.
  9. Texas can do no worse than a tie according to their website. [Hidden Content]
  10. I would think we adults could understand how some kids might react if they read some of these comments. These are not profesional athletes, they are teenage girls. When you question the validity of this team, you question the girls on the team. Not really that hard to understand. :
  11. Let's try to keep this positive and let these girls enjoy their recognition.
  12. Scott said in a postgame interview, that he was yelling for him to go the whole time. Sounds like Lee got a bad break on a ball that was obviously in the gap, and then had a mental mistake in not taking the catcher out.
  13. This kid reminds me of a bigger Jason Tyner. Something about the way he moves.
  14. I really hope they can put it all together. If they could be a successful program, that would be great for this area's softball.
  15. The other night when I went to the game, I met a guy named Sorrentino. He is VP of Astros marketing and broadcasting. Anyway, I noticed he had this huge ring on. As we started to talk I mentioned his ring. He asked me if I would like to look at it. I thought he was just going to hold it out so i could look at it, but he handed it to me. It must have weighed a half of a pound. It had the broken star on top and his name was forged on the side. The star was lined with diamonds. That was pretty cool!
  16. Went to the game last night and it was great. A Stro's win and the roof was open all night.. The beer was cold too.
  17. You might try a call to the Texas Attorney General's office to see if they can help. The school is a branch of the State of Texas.
  18. Thanks, I am more proud of the person she has become than anything else BTW, no danger of me making that list. : Yeah, That was me, as far from the umpires as you can get and still be in the park. ;D It was an exciting weekend, over 2300 in attendance on Saturday.
  19. Making it a 3-way tie at the top of the SEC. LSU Alabama Tennessee LSU @ Georgia (3 Games) Alabama @ Tennessee (3 Games) LSU has the tiebreakers with both teams. Next weekend ought to be a great weekend.
  20. A&M led 5-0 after 5. Clayton has 3 k's and has given up 3 hits through 5.
  21. Probably so, but it would be hard to walk away from a $1,000,000.00 annuity. Especially two of them. Financially he is set, he has the facilities and has been able to recruit the top players across the country. What else does ne need.
  22. He also showed that you can win at a&m, making it that much easier to attract another quality coach.
