  1. Tiger Coach, Alex is very good, but not ready to be mentioned with this group just yet. She would however be my freshman of the year, if we were naming one. I believe in one or two years she will be something special, but like you said she is only a freshman, just give her time.
  2. Christina, would be my leadoff hitter, and I would probably have her somewhere in the outfield to take advantage of her speed. Don't act like someone took a shot at her. I like her and think she is one heck of a player, I just think the other two are a little ahead of her defensively. She is good enough to play at the next level, and I hope she is contacting schools now. It doesn't matter what level she starts at. If she starts JUCO, I am sure she will be recruited after those 2 years are up. And since I am there, don't think schools are going to come beat at your door, no matter who you are. If you want to play at the next level, and you are in High School, you need to be contacting schools right now!!!!
  3. If I remember right beltway 8 north off of IH-10 Wallisville Road West. [Hidden Content] Site for Houston area stadiums, look toward the bottom right. Their baseball and softball stadium is near the football field. 150125 Wallisville Road if you are using mapquest or yahoo.
  4. There something west of the Trinity river? JK, sounds like todays game is going to be a great one.
  5. I believe that the striking out comment was in refernce to walk-off's statement, that she hadn't struck out all year. She obviously is a very good ballplayer, but sometimes supporters can exagerate accomplishments.
  6. allright, allright. When I looked it had been edited. 8)
  7. Just when I was starting to like you. When did H-F get so high and mighty?
  8. Their softball spouted the same kind of crap. Oh well! Sounds like he is threatening to run up the score if he gets the chance. Let's remember these comments , maybe he'll get a chance to eat them.
  9. We need more OF nominations. Please no homers, but players who deserve the reward.
  10. The point is you may have 3 SS to consider and really no 2B. These positions are basically interchangeable, so instead of naming a 2B that may not be deserving name MIF that deserve the reward. In baseball that would be unheard of, but in SB the stronger of your 2 MIF positions usually plays SS. Just a suggestion.
  11. a little before my time, but rumor is a lot of major league teams barnstormed across the south for spring training. Supposedly some names were carved in the old backstop. When I played Pony and Colt ball there I saw some carvings in the backstop, but couldn't make out any names. They may have been playing the old Beaumont Exporters at various parks across the triangle.
  12. Let see a game early in the season, where you have already pitched your entire staff earlier tournament vs. a warmup game to get you ready for the playoff's. I guess theres a little difference. BTW dnalreden try to use some facts in your next post if you can.
  13. I have to amend an earlier post. The longest homerun I have ever seen was hit by Craig James of Houston Stratford at Westend Park at old Stark High. He hit it to dead center field (about 425') and it went way over the oak tree, that was beyond the fence out there. Yes, the same Craig James that was part of the Pony Express backfield at SMU with Eric Dickerson.
  14. Are you talking about a meaningless tournament game? Oh maybe it wasn't meaningless to you.
  15. I didn't see how BC did against the other common opponents, but judging by the LCM game, it would have made a big difference.
  16. I think LCM's winning streak was that long.
  17. This 4A district was pretty tough as well.
  18. Don't beleive I have seen a 2nd baseman all year who is worthy of this team, but there may be 2 or 3 shortstops. Maybe we should just name 2-3 shortstops at the MIF position.
  19. Hard to compare stats from 2A to 3A to 4A, the competition is a lot different. Defense is definitely the biggest factor. Offense is just gravy.
  20. Christina would be my Utility Player. I believe she is capable of playing many positions and is big threat offensively. 3 steps and she is on 1st. Not quite as polished catching as the other two, but I would definitely have her on my team.
