  1. No not yet. There is a school board meeting tomorrow night but we are not expecting a final answer at this one. Probably won't get that answer until January 18th. But we (a group of people trying to keep the schools separate) all know money is what makes the world go around and this decision is about money saving to the BOM. So that's why I say 2 high schools in Beaumont for 2018-2019...
  2. It seemed to me that Ozen did a lot of substituting, going further into their bench, especially in the 1st half while Central ran with mainly the same 6 or 7 girls. By the 2nd half you could see the Lady Jaguars tiring, along with the pressure from Ozen, in making a lot of turnovers. Also, Ozen has 2 girls that are solid and have some height which created a lot of rebounds and easy put back baskets. My first time seeing Ozen play this year. No excuses, also found out 2 starters for Central were suspended for the game last night. Going to be interesting next year when these 2 teams are 1. 1 starter for each school was a freshman and they both played pretty good, they'll be teammates next year.
  3. Barbers Hill Baytown Lee Beaumont Central Beaumont Ozen Crosby Dayton Nederland Port Neches-Groves Vidor Problem is, Beaumont will only have 2 high schools starting 2018-2019.
  4. Committee
  5. End of the 3rd... Ozen 32 Central 19
  6. Halftime... Central 18 Ozen 16
  7. End of the 1st... Central 7 Ozen 6
  8. Exactly what you said...
  9. From what I gather from the last couple of meetings that I've attended, there won't be any "sending the kids" anywhere. The address that you have will determine the school that your child will attend if they are indeed merged. 2 different boundary lines are currently in play. #1, Using I-10 from the Thomas Center to where it splits into Hwy.69/96 going towards the mall. I think it incorporates also everything North of Hwy. 105 would go to the merger school. #2, Using I-10 that runs besides Babe Zaharious from east to west. Just imagine if I-10 didn't turn to the left when coming from Babe and just kept straight through the west end on Gladys. North of it would go to "what is currently" none as West Brook (name would be changed). South of it would go to the Ozen campus. I'm personally pushing the #SAVECENTRAL campaign but if that doesn't happen, I'd prefer option #1. Either way it goes, TexasBall you are correct, need to get the kids out of the hallways and back on the field.
  10. Soulja, why do you even respond to people like that. Let him enjoy his perfect world...
  11. From the meeting I attended last night, the next board meeting is Thursday, December 14th but BISD is not planning to release their final decision until Thursday, January 18th at that board meeting.
  12. Going to a meeting tonight concerning Central, Ozen and the possible merger. Hopefully will have some more insight into the situation...
  13. What about Baytown Lee who was in 22-5A last year? Barbers Hill (1559) Baytown Lee (1553) Central (1309) Crosby (1779) Dayton (1513) Nederland (1546) Ozen (1151.5) PN-G (1493) Vidor (1331)
  14. For the sake of their football team only, they needed to drop or for the merger to occur. In anything else, they hold their own. Just not getting the kids to turnout for football.
  15. Yes Ozen has been confirmed 5A by 2 student body's...
  16. After that article and some phone calls, I don't think the merger will take place for the 2018-2019 school year.
  17. Crazy...
  18. Does Crosby play on grass or turf? Nederland and Vidor will be our only grass fields. I'm bored y'all...
  19. With PN-G and Crosby being in the same district, we won't have to wait until the playoffs to see another 72-69 game...
  20. Nope, I was talking to someone about that the other day. The old AD made Ozen and Central play West Brook despite having half the attendance numbers. Central and West Brook has been a competitive game over the last couple of years with the Jaguars coming up short but it's been real rough on the Panthers. They don't make West Brook play Central in basketball but we are forced to play them in football. Many West Brook fans have said the games don't benefit them when it comes to district play.
  21. Well looks like my oldest son will get the opportunity to graduate as a Jaguar in 2019. Barbers Hill (1559) Central (1309) Crosby (1779) Dayton (1513) Nederland (1546) Ozen (1151.5) PN-G (1493) Vidor (1331) If this district comes to fruition, I would like to see our 3 non-district games against WO-S, Lumberton and PA-M.
  22. So the saga continues. This is why I said on an earlier post that I wasn't feeling so confident anymore that the 2 schools would merge along with all the work that is going on over at the main campus.
  23. And the saga will continue...
