  1. In the end, it's all about money one way or another... Txprepfan, since you have never been to "The Butch", feel free to drive on over on September 1st and watch West Brook and Central.
  2. I hope this is the scenario, in no particular order, so that we go D2...
  3. Ok, I just picked up my copy of DCTF today. Looks like pretty much no information was gathered or given on Central. Central will not miss the playoffs as DCTF is predicting. And I'm sticking with my prediction...
  4. Well in my opinion, 5 games will determine how Central's season plays out... vs West Brook @ Vidor vs Memorial vs Nederland vs PN-G
  5. The new alignment will create more travel but interesting and more level playing fields...
  6. 1. Port Arthur Memorial- until proven otherwise, the Titans are the top team in the district. 2. Beaumont Central- Nelson knows what to do with talent and athletes that Foreman couldn't figure out. 3. Port Neches-Groves- the super sophomore caught everyone by surprise last year just on how good he was. No surprises this year... 4. Vidor- the system. I'd prefer Nederland in this spot so that my Jags can go D2 (something that has never happened since this format of the playoffs). 1 more "Q" to graduate... 5. Nederland- from 2nd to 6th, anything is possible with these guys. 6. Lumberton- just don't have the numbers to get over the hump. 7. Beaumont Ozen- 1 year away before they are a serious playoff contender. 8. Livingston- could move up as high as 6th if the ball bounces right. 9. Baytown Lee- 0-10...again.
  7. How about you get that list of 30 for us
  8. Well I'm pulling for Nelson and Thompson to put it on the schedule starting in 2018. Central was playing them until Foreman and Thompson had a "conflict of interest"...
  9. And a coach the last 4 years that didn't know what to do with all the talent that he had. Times have changed... Hamburger Depot meal on it?
  10. Roshonsbigbro, I know you stay out of town, you going to be able to make this one on a Thursday night?
  11. Vidor is going to consistently be in the mix because of their system that they run that they start from pee wee ball. Vidor will be in the top 4 this year. I was one of them that said PN-G's JV was weak last year and I stand by that. I understand your point of your brother being on Varsity, which at most other schools a 10th grader would be on JV. But there was nothing else, at least that I saw on that particular Thursday, that said to me that the cupboards weren't a little empty. As long as Johnson is taking the snaps for PN-G's Varsity, they will be in the top 4. Central will be fine. The best thing that has happened over there in the last 4 years is that someone decided to leave to go coach another program. Central will be in the top 4 this year. Until otherwise proven, PA Memorial is tops in the district.
  12. Hamburger Depot meal on the PN-G @ Central game?
  13. Hey man, I'm revoking your Central membership card. Time to change your picture to a tiger or something...
  14. Too bad today is the last day of practice or I'd tell you to make your way out to the practice field to see what I mean...
  15. A quoting error by me, it was an accident...
  16. Atlanta is a 4A school that is 237 miles from Central. Not going to happen. The only schools I'd hope our coaching staff would consider putting on the schedule is WO-S and maybe Silsbee. Other than that, it is usually 6A schools from scrimmages and non-district games.
  17. That is correct. No matter where he is on the field and where they are, when he blows the whistle, everyone stops what they are doing, faces him with their hands behind their backs and listens for his next commands. Like you said, commands respect and I think it will show on Friday nights, starting September 1st...
  18. Not being funny, which community are you referring to with low self esteem? Atlanta? The scrimmage or game against Central, not going to happen.
  19. A scrimmage, smh...
  20. I never got into the DISCIPLINE debate and I won't. What I will say is that the DISCIPLINE that was there when Stowers was head coach and that was missing the last 4 years, seems to be back. It's still early but I like the changes at 88 Jaguar Dr. so far...
  21. Yes I used the "D" word. Almost military like when they are on the field. He demands respect and they give it, something that hasn't been there in a while...
  22. Just my opinion... Things were pretty vanilla of course with at least one coach from every school in 22-5A in attendance plus some from West Brook. The defense seems to be ahead of the offense which is the case for most teams with a new head coach installing a new playbook. A few key returning starters didn't even play. I can promise you this, they will be a lot more physical than what you seen the last couple of years. And the dumb unsportsmanlike penalties that plagued us in key situations over the past will be gone. It's called discipline, structure and knowing who is in charge without a doubt. The coaches seem to be doing more teaching than what I witnessed in the past and not trying to buddy buddy with players. I didn't do a head count myself but was told there were 95 kids suited up, which doesn't include next years freshman class. They won't be backing into the playoffs off a Nederland technicality like they did last year. The lowest they will finish is 3rd, if that low...
  23. Didn't say that at all. The Raiders have played us pretty tough the last 2 years...
  24. Actually from what I seen, the Indians will come to Beaumont on Thursday, October 26th, not Friday. Don't know how much it will matter on a short week but the Indians previous opponent will be the Titans while the Jaguars will be the Raiders.
  25. NOW you are finally on board...
