  1. A quoting error by me, it was an accident...
  2. Atlanta is a 4A school that is 237 miles from Central. Not going to happen. The only schools I'd hope our coaching staff would consider putting on the schedule is WO-S and maybe Silsbee. Other than that, it is usually 6A schools from scrimmages and non-district games.
  3. That is correct. No matter where he is on the field and where they are, when he blows the whistle, everyone stops what they are doing, faces him with their hands behind their backs and listens for his next commands. Like you said, commands respect and I think it will show on Friday nights, starting September 1st...
  4. Not being funny, which community are you referring to with low self esteem? Atlanta? The scrimmage or game against Central, not going to happen.
  5. A scrimmage, smh...
  6. I never got into the DISCIPLINE debate and I won't. What I will say is that the DISCIPLINE that was there when Stowers was head coach and that was missing the last 4 years, seems to be back. It's still early but I like the changes at 88 Jaguar Dr. so far...
  7. Yes I used the "D" word. Almost military like when they are on the field. He demands respect and they give it, something that hasn't been there in a while...
  8. Just my opinion... Things were pretty vanilla of course with at least one coach from every school in 22-5A in attendance plus some from West Brook. The defense seems to be ahead of the offense which is the case for most teams with a new head coach installing a new playbook. A few key returning starters didn't even play. I can promise you this, they will be a lot more physical than what you seen the last couple of years. And the dumb unsportsmanlike penalties that plagued us in key situations over the past will be gone. It's called discipline, structure and knowing who is in charge without a doubt. The coaches seem to be doing more teaching than what I witnessed in the past and not trying to buddy buddy with players. I didn't do a head count myself but was told there were 95 kids suited up, which doesn't include next years freshman class. They won't be backing into the playoffs off a Nederland technicality like they did last year. The lowest they will finish is 3rd, if that low...
  9. Didn't say that at all. The Raiders have played us pretty tough the last 2 years...
  10. Actually from what I seen, the Indians will come to Beaumont on Thursday, October 26th, not Friday. Don't know how much it will matter on a short week but the Indians previous opponent will be the Titans while the Jaguars will be the Raiders.
  11. NOW you are finally on board...
  12. Jags will play them starting in 2018, make it happen WOS Grad. I'd prefer a trip to Orange on a Friday night over the one we have to make to Katy Tompkins this coming season...
  13. Just don't let the jet sweep get ya...
  14. Definitely the 2nd one...
  15. Yea, he did that. Got behind us too, still haven't figured out how... October 27th is when the Indians come to the Butch. All I'm going to say is "Welcome to the Jungle"
  16. And practically no drive time for either school. I think one coach is scared and the other is glad... Seriously, maybe they can get it back on after the next realignment.
  17. Match up I'd like to see... Wish West Brook and PA-M would start playing a non-district game... or maybe a PA-M and Lufkin...
  18. New sheriff in town. I can only think of one guy on the Central varsity track team that didn't play football. An actually he started out playing and quit this year for whatever reason. All of the rest of them, including my boys, will probably tell you that football is their first love and that they run track mainly for conditioning purposes and to work on their football speed or that they were "voluntold" to do so by football staff. I hadn't had this much optimism that a coach knows what to do with all that speed since Stowers left...
  19. Man that's almost 25% the size of PA-M!!!
  20. Pretty good post except I'm a football dad, basketball dad, volleyball dad, softball dad as well as a track dad. I don't recall seeing any male Indians at Regionals in Humble except Keynel McZeal and he is a Senior and that was in the triple jump. Here is the link for the Region 3 results if you don't believe me...[Hidden Content] I think you meant Area which is still a great feat in itself...[Hidden Content]
  21. My thinking is what does WO-S have to prove to anyone? Nothing. What does Coach Thompson and the Stangs have to gain out of playing the Titans? Absolutely nothing. I don't see it happening. If they are still not satisfied, tell them to look at the hardware (rings, trophy, etc.) from the last 2 state titles. I don't recall what WO-S attendance numbers were at the last enrollment but I would say they are around a third of what PA-M is (2,098). Tell them in the barbershop that whenever the Titans collect a ring in 5A or 6A, then you all can talk. ...
  22. A vanilla spring game (more like a practice, don't want to give out too much information for our 1st game opponent) will be Tuesday, May 23rd @ the Thomas Center. Let me confirm the time...
  23. A school that's on the bubble of being back in 6A or at least on the big side of 5A after the next realignment, I just don't see it. They have the same kind of athletes and talent. In my opinion, if for no other reason, PA wins because of depth.
  24. With 5A going to the D1 and D2 split like the smaller classifications, I doubt we will have 9 teams in our district...
