  1. I agree on the domination part. I will not comment anymore on adjustments or lack of adjustments pertaining to that particular game. Looking forward to the one at hand Friday. I will say that i would rather be 1-2 but knowing what changes/adjustments need to be made because of things getting exposed going forward then to be 3-0 and false confidence. With Livingston and Lee as the Indians next 2 opponents, the Indians should start out 5-0. It doesn't get any easier after that with maybe the exception of Ozen. I would venture to say that the 3 teams we have played would beat the 3 teams the Indians have played... West Brook would beat Silsbee... Katy Tompkins would beat Goose Creek Memorial... And Vidor WILL beat Lumberton. In my opinion, the Titans are the only team in this district that could possibility run the table this year but they are yet to play a complete game so we don't really know where they are at. 1 loss does not have the Jaguars out of the hunt for the district championship, i would say 2 does. We'll be ready Friday night...
  2. Total different style of offense between Vidor and PA-M. The Jags are use to playing spreads, not wing and slot T's. The held Denley from West Brook in check despite loosing that game with around 60 yards. They held the Tompkins RB to less than that. I'd be surprised if the PA RB gets over a hundred. PA's biggest gains will be off of playaction passes because the Jags will be so aggressive towards the run. Besides hurt feelings and #9 suffering an ankle sprain, Jags came out of game healthy. I hope #9 can go on a short week because he is a valuable piece in the secondary but i don't know...
  3. It's been 48 hours now, so like the kids must do, I've said what i have to say and put it behind me. I trust and believe that coach and his staff have learned from it and will be ready to compete for one of the 4 playoff spots. The Jags will get in. I will be in PA wearing my maroon and silver, supporting the kids and coaches and posting updates. I believe none of these young men will except what happened to them this past week and will come out to make a statement. This will be the Titans 1st complete game and the 1st game outside of Butch for the Jags. Buddy, you and i know if any team in this district is going to be intimidated by the Titans, it won't be the Jaguars. I was a little late getting to practice today, but what i do know this week, we won't be 1 dementional...
  4. Only thing i took from that was "got a 911 call"...thanks for serving. Good analysis...looking forward to the game.
  5. Oh, to answer the original post, i still think the Dayton loss was more of a surprise. Since Matthews installed that offense at Vidor, it has been a problem for Central, no matter the coach...
  6. I still don't think it's even close...football.
  7. Lol, he'll get it together...

  9. Before we close this thread out, i had to do a little research... Since the inception of Central (1986), the Pirates and Jaguars have played 25 times. From 1986 to 1994, the Jaguars were 10-0 against the Pirates. Because of classifications, the Jaguars and Pirates didn't play again until 2002. From 2002 to 2016, the Jaguars lead the series 11-4, making it 21-4 overall. I initially started this research to see if the 48 points given up Friday by the Jaguars was the highest ever to the Pirates. The answer is no. In 2009, under Coach Stowers, the Jaguars edged out the Pirates 57-56. That Jaguar team went 3 rounds deep before loosing to Friendswood and finishing 9-4 overall. Besides this years loss, the other 3 are... 2004...Pirates 17-14...Jaguars were 1-9 that year. 2011...Pirates 28-15...Jaguars were 2-8 that year. 2012...Pirates 40-21...Jaguars were 3-7 that year. Every year, that the Jaguars have lost to the Pirates, they finished with a loosing record...ijs...
  10. I really have nothing to say, i won't be on here much. Not ever going to pick against my Jags. Going to visit a few practices to see who is taking the snaps this week. Depending on that, i may stay home Friday and prep my boat and rods for a tournament on Saturday. I luv the kids and program, been following since I graduated in 95. Just hard to watch when the team as a whole is not being given the best chance to win. Winning cures all...
  11. Coming off a loss to the Pirates to open district, the Jaguars travel to Port Arthur and look to rebound against a Titan team that had a BYE, has only started playing 2 games, neither of which was completed. Your predictions...
  12. Good night, I'm done with this thread. I'll see you on the Jaguars vs Titans thread. About to watch my recording of the Longhorns...
  13. You make some valid points buddy. I'm not on here to bash him or any other coach. I was once on the sideline before changing my profession for the benefit of my family. It's easy to always 2nd guess on this board after the fact. I have 2 kids and other family in the program. If i need to talk to him, which i don't, i have access to him as well as him to me. My job title is Process Operator, no longer firefighter, corrections officer or COACH. So I'll intrust him and his staff to get it together. There are 7 games left in district play. Win 5 of those 7, and we will be guaranteed a playoff spot. It won't be easy but they have the kids to do. You and others may think I'm crazy but i think his playbook is fine, it just requires the threat of a passing game. Hence the Jaquet years. If a DC knows a offense can't beat you with the pass, how do you think they are going to play you? Give #2 Davis the start, after today, what's the worse that can happen? You can always go back to the other if it doesn't work out. The offense technically only scored 3 TD's today the other was on a kick return #12 Moreaux. 3 last week against Tompkins and 3 against West Brook. We have to get more balanced to be successful... The Defense will be fine. They'll put there big boy pants back on and get ready for the Titans next week... Hope Ruffins ankle doesn't keep him out next week.
  14. Very well said, maybe it's best i don't know. I met Coach Matthews years ago at my time at Legacy. Class act then and as far as i know, he is still one. He came over before the JV game and talked to a few of the Central fans that he knows. It looked like he learned some things, hell a lot of things since week one and made the proper adjustments. I want to believe that the Jaguar coaching staff will learn from this, the good and bad and put these young men in position to compete and be successful for the rest of the season...
  15. Don't need Whaley and Jaquet. Just need to use the offensive weapons that he does have properly. Whaley was 1 good back, we have 4 this year. In my opinion #8 & #12, the better of the group didn't get enough carries. But it doesn't matter who is back there if you don't have a threat of a passing game. #2 doesn't have Jaquets wheels but I'd put his arm, accuracy and pocket presence up against his.
  16. I don't know how he is still allowed on here after some of the stuff he has said in the past...
  17. Just curious to know what Pig said before it was erased...
  18. Tough kid. Hell that entire team is tougher than most of ours from what i seen with the exception of a few...
  19. He was actually playing the nose in the 5 down lineman set...
  20. I won't say it's favoritism but i won't speak about it on this board...
  21. Pirates 48 Jaguars 27 Final
  22. It won't happen but if we don't start #2 Davis in PA next week, Titans will embarrass us too. Too 1 dementional with the other QB in...
