It's not a knock on Lumberton having them as Homecoming, it just happened that way. Didn't want to have homecoming too early in the season like against Katy Tompkins or Vidor or too late like against Livingston. Central only has 4 "home" games this year to choose from. The Raiders were Central's homecoming last year and pushed them to the end of the game before it was decided...

UIL reshuffling forces end of annual Beaumont Bowl

I doubt Deer Park and Houston St. Pius are going to play each other... -
That must mean the coaches son is at QB...

I agree on the Whaley part. Good kid and would love to have him back this year but the offense was too predictable. I think the other kids depended on him too much. The Jags started the year out playing mostly in a one back set. It wasn't until district I think they that they went to a 2 back set with the Foster kid and that's when he started having great games. Defenses couldn't just key on Whaley. Foster and Corbin will be the feature backs this year and they both are juniors. If any kind of passing attack develops, the Jaguars in my opinion could push for the district title.

Here is my official way too early prediction...The district will end in a 3 way tie with PA-M, PN-G and Central. PA-M will beat PN-G. PN-G will beat Central. Central will beat PA-M. 1T. Beaumont Central...9 starters return on defense. A bunch of juniors and sophomores played last year along with the district champs in JV translate to good things this year. In my opinion, with Whaley being gone, it will benefit the offense in opening it up and not being so predictable. The one district loss comes on the road agains Indians... 1T. Port Arthur Memorial...after playing much bigger schools like North Shore, Deer Park, etc., dropping down is a big confidence booster for the Titans. Because of this, I could see them just as prolific as the team that went to the state quarterfinals a couple of years ago. Along with Coach Harrison trying to keep his job, the Titans will have no mercy on the smaller schools of the district. They do stumble cor their only district loss against the Jaguars. 1T. Port Neches-Groves...the Indians will continue to reload and Faircloth will COACH this team to a piece of the district title. Indians only district loss will come at the hands of the Titans. 4. Nederland...Nederland is Nederland. Neumann will find a way to get it done. He may not win district this year but they will be in the playoffs again. Bulldogs will loose to all 3 district front runners. 5. Lumberton...Babin and the Raiders will come up a little short of making the playoffs this go around. 6. Vidor...the style of offense will keep them in many games, the defense will let them out. 7. Beaumont Ozen...gone is the all district QB but they do have the best RB back in the district. He is not enough and with the lack of depth at other positions, he won't have numbers like last year. 8. Baytown Lee...no longer the cellar dwellers. 9. Livingston...the new cellar dwellars.

Ha ha, no excuses. Just stating facts about the schedule. We've been playing PA-M since the school was created so no fear there. Can't say the same for the rest of the district with the exception of Ozen.

Beaumont Central 80 Humble 45/Final
Alpha Wolf replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
One game at a time... -
Not confirmed from Coach Foreman yet but if this is Central's 2016, I don't like going back to PA-M, Nederland and PN-G this year when we played all those games on the road as well in 2015. It's way early but because of that, it is quite possible that will be the only 3 losses the Jaguars have this year. And I don't like PA-M having their bye week the week before the Central game. Week 1 Houston St. Pius Week 2 @ Katy Thompkins Week 3 Vidor Week 4 @ Port Arthur Memorial Week 5 Bye Week 6 Beaumont Ozen Week 7@ Nederland Week 8 Lumberton Week 9 @ Port Neches-Groves Week 10 Livingston Week 11 @ Baytown Lee

UIL reshuffling forces end of annual Beaumont Bowl

That's the only way it would work. I feel for the Seniors on both teams next year. How do you crown a Beaumont Bowl Champion? You can't... -
Yes, as of yesterday...smh. All the schedules that were made out have to be redone...
-
No disrespect to Lumberton because they have been a district foe for a while now, but like I said in another thread somewhere else, if Memorial looses that game and misses the playoffs, the Titans will have a new ball coach in 2017...you heard that here first...
-
What you said...9 starters on defense...
-
Foster and Corbin...speed backs...
-
I was waiting for this one from him. This started in another thread. I asked for real predictions...
-
I know school has not even ended for this year but most of us have an idea what their particular school has coming back. Now that we have our finalized district, how do you see it playing out? Here all 9 teams listed in alphabetical order... 1. Baytown Lee Ganders 2. Beaumont Central Jaguars 3. Beaumont Ozen Panthers 4. Livingston Lions 5. Lumberton Raiders 6. Nederland Bulldogs 7. Port Arthur Memorial Titans 8. Port Neches-Groves Indians 9. Vidor Pirates
-
Appreciate the facts Bigdog. But to not take away from the title of the thread, I'll see if I can find the prediction thread for the "new" 22-5A or create a new one. Then you can join me over there for a little friendly debate...
-
After beating up on 3 small schools, the Raiders came in a little confident. In the end, the better team won...and you can come back to this thread and find this in October...PAM, Nederland, PN-G and Central, in no particular order.
-
Yea right along with Ozen, Lumberton, Vidor and Lee...
-
Yea, more than I want...
-
The entire district schedules have to be redone due to the bye week being rotated instead of everyone having week 4 off...
-
West Brook will probably drop Deer Park and Central will probably drop Houston St.Pius. They would then be able to play the 1st week where they normally play each other (sucks)...waiting to hear back from Coach...
