Ha ha, no excuses. Just stating facts about the schedule. We've been playing PA-M since the school was created so no fear there. Can't say the same for the rest of the district with the exception of Ozen.

Beaumont Central 80 Humble 45/Final
Alpha Wolf replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
One game at a time... -
Not confirmed from Coach Foreman yet but if this is Central's 2016, I don't like going back to PA-M, Nederland and PN-G this year when we played all those games on the road as well in 2015. It's way early but because of that, it is quite possible that will be the only 3 losses the Jaguars have this year. And I don't like PA-M having their bye week the week before the Central game. Week 1 Houston St. Pius Week 2 @ Katy Thompkins Week 3 Vidor Week 4 @ Port Arthur Memorial Week 5 Bye Week 6 Beaumont Ozen Week 7@ Nederland Week 8 Lumberton Week 9 @ Port Neches-Groves Week 10 Livingston Week 11 @ Baytown Lee

UIL reshuffling forces end of annual Beaumont Bowl
Alpha Wolf replied to hsforlife89's topic in High School Football
That's the only way it would work. I feel for the Seniors on both teams next year. How do you crown a Beaumont Bowl Champion? You can't... -
Yes, as of yesterday...smh. All the schedules that were made out have to be redone...
-
No disrespect to Lumberton because they have been a district foe for a while now, but like I said in another thread somewhere else, if Memorial looses that game and misses the playoffs, the Titans will have a new ball coach in 2017...you heard that here first...
-
What you said...9 starters on defense...
-
Foster and Corbin...speed backs...
-
I was waiting for this one from him. This started in another thread. I asked for real predictions...
-
I know school has not even ended for this year but most of us have an idea what their particular school has coming back. Now that we have our finalized district, how do you see it playing out? Here all 9 teams listed in alphabetical order... 1. Baytown Lee Ganders 2. Beaumont Central Jaguars 3. Beaumont Ozen Panthers 4. Livingston Lions 5. Lumberton Raiders 6. Nederland Bulldogs 7. Port Arthur Memorial Titans 8. Port Neches-Groves Indians 9. Vidor Pirates
-
Appreciate the facts Bigdog. But to not take away from the title of the thread, I'll see if I can find the prediction thread for the "new" 22-5A or create a new one. Then you can join me over there for a little friendly debate...
-
After beating up on 3 small schools, the Raiders came in a little confident. In the end, the better team won...and you can come back to this thread and find this in October...PAM, Nederland, PN-G and Central, in no particular order.
-
Yea right along with Ozen, Lumberton, Vidor and Lee...
-
Yea, more than I want...
-
The entire district schedules have to be redone due to the bye week being rotated instead of everyone having week 4 off...
-
West Brook will probably drop Deer Park and Central will probably drop Houston St.Pius. They would then be able to play the 1st week where they normally play each other (sucks)...waiting to hear back from Coach...
-
That will be interesting because Central and West Brook were to play in week 3. Could this be the 1st time that they don't play each other in a school year???
-
So I guess Ozen's enrollment numbers were right keeping them in 5A?
-
Beaumont has a nice football stadium that yes I'm proud of and proud to have my 5 boys play in over the next several years. All 3 schools play there. Now each school has their own campus of course and workout facilities. I hadn't been in the other 2 lately but I do know Central's is in need of a makeover. Does that stop the kids from taking pride and putting in work to get better? No. Go by there during the school week and see how much work is being put in by the kids and coaches after 3 o'clock, a ton. There will be no indoor facilities coming this way unless all 3 schools can have it and that's not going to happen. We may not have the championships "yet" but we have many kids that have obtained D1 or any level of football scholarship without some fancy workout facility...
-
What this entire thread bowls down to is that some decision makers have screwed Ozen for the next 2 years in football. It would have been fun to watch and support them in 4A.
-
Sounds like that is what he was supposed to say. I bet if he was asked off the record, he'd say something else. This is his lively hood. Say if he goes 2-8 or 3-7 over the next 2 years, will he be around for the next realignment or will the Panther faithful run him off?
-
I wonder what Coach Suggs thinks about all this? He went from in my opinion a guaranteed winning season and possible deep playoff run with Tyler to a guaranteed 10 game season...
-
I only missed the Nederland game so I must have missed the low varsity numbers for Central. It only takes 11 on offense and 11 on defense plus special teams. There was really only one kid that played both sides of the ball and that was Bennett who started at FS and played some WR. I don't have my roster right in front of me but if my memory serves me correct, there were 23 seniors, 12 juniors and 6 sophomores on varsity. That's only 41, 50 would be optimal but that's just more kids standing around. I didn't make but one JV game but they finished 8-1 but had decent numbers on the sideline. I made all the freshman games which had between 50 and 60 kids, until report cards came out...
