Dogs 13-0.  Nederland offense is looking pretty good.  Good QB play.  I like #1 in the backfield.

Central playing a soft zone pass coverage.  Dogs lead 6-0 with jus >:(t under 8 minutes in the 1st.

Opening kickoff,  Nederland #30 goes down with a knee injury.

Lucky for the Dogs,  Mitchell still in street clothes.

I thought they had put in turf over here but i guess its bette ;)r to potty train puppies on grass.

I have always loved the black and red color combos so I would have to go with Memorial and Kirbyville.

Not saying our offense is prolific but what offense has the Nederland defense faced that was all that?  3 of the teams you'll faced (Barbers Hill,  Vidor,  Livingston)  basically ran the same offense that is physical with a very small percentage of passes.  I think GC-M runs a spread but they are nothing to write home about.  WO-S offense is simply not what it use to be as we can tell so far this season.  And PN-G is not what it was the last 2 years when the had the QB that went to Oregon.  The most prolific offense you'll play in the regular season will probably be Ozens.  So we'll see just how good it is this Friday...

Soulja, let them make their predictions man.  Think back over the last several years as to pre-season picks on standings.  When has Central been picked to finish first, none that I can recall but we have on a couple of occasions and had some deep playoff runs too.  Central has been picked many times to loose over the years when ever they are playing a school that is supposed to have one of their better teams but we come through in the end.  You remember Jordy Matherson?  He stepped in that year as a Sophomore after the starter went down with a broke leg in the first game and had a great year despite everyone picking against us.  Not saying Central would have beat Livingston this year, I don't know.  But when Rob went down and his status came out, the kids gave up, the coaches didn't know what to do and the fans didn't believe.  Well all that has been corrected.  The kids are now in a situation where they have to play as a team and not rely on 1 or 2 people.  The coaches have finally got the right game plan.  And the Jaguar fans will be in affect in Nederland. We (Central as a whole) are use to being the underdogs and dealing with adversity.  See all you Dog fans in Nederland and enjoy the band...

I just want to take a stab at Channel 12's game of the week this week.  Nothing against the 2 schools but I say... Hamshire-Fannett vs Hardin-Jefferson

Soulja,  if i recall that year (2006) Nederland was also supposed to have the better team.  It was also the Bulldogs homecoming that year as previously stated.  But i remember it being 28-0 at the end of the first quarter.  Nederland will be the Kings of 20-4A this year but won't win this one this Friday. I don't predict scores but i do see Central winning this one.

Lumberton had a 3 year run (out of the norm) where they took no prisoners.  Except it, this is not your year and may not be your year for a long time. It would also help if you were a little more creative on offense.  See you'll in a couple of weeks...
