Well, regardless if they win or lose Saturday, I think he deserves a contract extension and around $120K a year. BISD shouldn't make this a revolving door. They found one good one, pay him appropriately to keep him. Now just find one for the other side of town...

Well Peabody is 14-3. Sounds like Maxpreps might be pretty close to where they should be. Maxpreps is not 100% accurate because all games are not entered into their system but it is the best we have besides human opinions...

Maxpreps has them ranked #29 in the nation and #3 in Louisiana so I guess I would still have to consider them a powerhouse.

I agree for the most part. Unless they have a total collapse, I'm not worried about them getting a playoff spot. The district title should be theirs to as long as they continue to do what they are doing, winning. It's just more about being recognized for the work that the coaching staff and young ladies have put in. Hey, if they don't get ranked all season but make it to San Antonio, I'd take that in a heart beat.

Updated for December 17th. It's funny that this poll doesn't have us anywhere on it at 17-0 but Maxpreps has us ranked at 22 in 6A.

I've found it best to just e-mail the head coach of the team that I thought won the game. They usually are happy to report a score when they win...

I was expecting a tough game. We knew they were going to want to come out and slow the game down to keep the score close and that's what they did. The girls and Coach Brown did what was necessary and got the win. With an enrollment of over 4,000 students, just say half are girls, you are bound to have a decent girls basketball team. You know what is ridiculous? How hard it is to get scores from other district games. If you don't know someone at the game, you are pretty much SOL.

If they can hang on and get the win tonight, in my opinion, they will have already beaten the 2 toughest teams in district in North Shore and Deer Park.

Man we have people that won the recent election by vote and have not been seated but just a couple months back a man was given a seat because he is the general manager at both Chick Fil A's in Beaumont. Get this, his child doesn't even attend a BISD school but instead Legacy but they put him in place to make decisions for the thousands of kids in the school district.

Good man? Yes. Prime example, he had the returning varsity players up at Baptist today passing out gifts to kids in the hospital. Good football coach? In my opinion, no. And unless he steps down on his own, they will bring him back next year. Ok, so what are you going to do different? What changes will you make so that you don't have another 2-8 season? The numbers and talent is there. But you know how men are with their pride and having to make changes to what they are doing...

I agree, it probably falls on deaf ears but I will continue to fight for the kids over there. I am glad for the kids at 8750 Phelan Blvd., I hope they pull it off this weekend. She got mad when I told her that she set our kids up for failure by making the hire that she did. Why can't Beaumont have 2 respectable football programs? She couldn't answer that. I'm going to another meeting tonight that she will be at just to ask her some other questions...

I never once anywhere on this website or in person to anybody mentioned anything about a championship, not even a district championship. But 2 wins??? How many more 2 win seasons do the kids have to go through before a change is made? Do you know the Seniors that were at Ozen before the merger NEVER made the playoffs and had 5 wins in the last 3 seasons on varsity? See the pattern?
