The new coach is supposed to be signed and made public this week.

Coach Williams will be stepping down as head coach at BU, taking her and her daughter to LC-M.

Michael Trahan comes over from Deweyville where he was 25-16 overall, 12-2 in district play last year to try to get the SheWolves volleyball program headed in the right direction.

First I never made an excuse about any lost. A lost is a lost. Second I'm negative because because I feel differently about something. The turf is fine. The design I don't care for. Nothing wrong with me not liking it. It's a bunch stadiums and arenas I don't like. I like infinity war better than I like endgame. Guess I'm just a terrible person and guess what, I COULD CARELESS ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE THINK. if hair piece can say what ever he wants and get elected, then I don't see a problem with what anybody has to say ever.

Yes, congratulations Mrs. Locke.  Hopefully we can have two playoff caliber teams in Beaumont soon.

Mark Crooms would be my choice if I was GCM. I think he would want to stay there and could get some excitement being a Baytown guy.
To speak to some other topics in the thread, Baytown Lee had a good run from 1994 to about 2007. It was a pretty good, long run with a shot or two or three in there to make a run at the state semifinals.
I think the Ganders could surprise some people this year. They finally have a set of athletes coming together in close enough grade levels to be competitive.  I guess we will see.
 

A sad day for PN-GISD, but a happy day for Coach Comeaux.  I am not sure if she is retiring, semi-retiring, or simply leaving the coaching ranks so she can devote more time to teaching and overseeing the girls athletic programs at PN-GISD, but whatever she is doing, she has earned the right to do it.  If it is retirement, good for her.  I hope that she enjoys every second of it.  Whatever makes Coach Comeaux happy, I am all for it; she is entitled to it.  As a great coach, educator, and lady, she has given PN-GISD more than the district can ever repay her.  1971 or 1972 to 2019...she has given PN-GISD, the Rock-a-Noos, Rock-a-Noo fans, and PN-G alumni 47 or 48 years of greatness.  She has put a ton of hardware in the PN-G trophy cases.  Thousands of wins, three state championships, too many district crowns to count, and her career at The Reservation paralleled the tenure of seven head football coaches (Ken Watson, Doug Ethridge, Butch Troy, Danny Malone, Tim Owen, Matt Burnett, and Brandon Faircloth).  What more can you say?  She is a legend.  If PN-GISD has a Mount Rushmore of greatness, Barbara Comeaux is on it!  All the best to one of the best!  PN-GISD was lucky to have her.  She is one of the pillars that upholds the foundation for PN-G's core values of HONOR, PRIDE, and TRADITION!

The article does not list the 7 finalists.
They have said they want to present a name to the May school board meeting. That meeting is scheduled for May 6th. 

GCM has never won a playoff football game. Should have beaten Central in 2009, but had some big plays called back and fumbled an option pitch inside the 20 (my son was the one who made the option pitch). Being the 4 seed is a tough road- for any team.
That being said, they have enough talent to "compete" for a playoff spot. Probably not win the district, but they should compete.
Of course, one high school would have helped considerably. There is enough football talent in Baytown to win some games. Don't get me wrong, it would not be a North Shore or Allen type of program, but it would give us a chance.
FWIW: Goose Creek Roughnecks, Black and Silver, Silver Oilers' derrick on a black helmet. They should have just asked me.

Im hearing from a very good source that Lamar's new coach will be the top assistant from Kansas that has a lot of ties in Texas for recruiting.  If true this will be a very big time hire for Lamar!

Several local girls, including mine are playing for team out of Houston and we played in North Carolina this past weekend and they had at least 20 major Div 1 coaches watching them. With probably another 15 smaller schools. I’m sure 99% of the we’re watching HJ’s phenom (Man she is good and fun to watch), but hoping some of the others get noticed in the process! The recruiting process seems to have changed from offering early to waiting late in the game now. Glad to see Lamar hires fast since they are going to need to start recruiting.

Greatly hope ya'll pass the stadium bond, otherwise, you might want to ask what good swimmers you have available coming up to put on the football field (aka water/mud slosh pit).  Prayers for your stadium bond improvements.

That's part of the problem, but only as it relates to participation numbers and UIL classification.
The two years in 6A set GCM back four years at least. Many of the better athletes left or focused on one sport other than football. Very few are willing to take a beating on Friday Night for honor and glory.
The UIL could help all of the GCCISD schools by matching them with Pasadena ISD. It's a more comparable demographic and there is no reason for Humble ISD to be in that district.

Yea it pretty much died out after being shot down last time. GCCISD and MOST of the city of baytown is ok with Mediocrity. 

I know United is supposed to participate in the McNeese camp.  The dates that I have are May 30, 31 and June 1st. 

We all pay for the public education that MOST of us attended and MOST DO attend though......... So WHY NOT make it as good and as top notch across the board as possible??!?!?!? If that's an extra $30 a month then so be it! Or you could just vote no and things can continue to be sub-par and you can continue to send your kids to old schools and quality people will move away, including educators...This is why our country is great though... There's quite a bit more at stake than $30 a month for Nederlanders here IMO.... 

I didn't know that Livingston was open but got an email from the new coach yesterday.
They hired Brittney Jefferson.
She should have a very competitive team - a lot of girls returning off a team that won their district and made it to the regional quarter finals.
 

Nothing yet but the person everyone seems to think will get it including me came out of West Brook himself but nothing official yet...
