That's not bad.

Bmt United (31-0) got out of the Montagne Center with an ugly win to keep the streak alive. Be it a rivalry or trap game luck and good defense brought them through. Westbrook left it all on the floor in a hard fought battle. No excuses for United's performance just regroup and on to the next opponent.

United had the most horrible game of the the year.  They missed SEVERAL point blank shots and layups.  They were probably under 25% from the free throw line.  And goodness gracious, the 3 ball refuse to fall.  WB hit every once in a while, but United played good team d, which is why they won.  And made fewer mistakes than Brook.  But the Shewolves will need to work on those free throws and 3 ball.  I don't think they'll be another game when Kirvin and the other tall girl misses that many point blank shots....

Very very sloppy game.  The holding the ball was started by WB in the first half, they were up by 2 I believe.  United went up by like 5 and did it.  Only reason United went to it wasn't to take time off the clock, but to get WB out of that zone defense.  Took WB a while to come out of it and start attacking, but they finally did.  
I think this game, the coaches should've just let them play and quit dictating the tempo.  Very few transition buckets, no dunks and a lot of pass, pass, pass and holding the ball.  And United needs to work on their free throws.  I was really impressed with WB's Big men.  Big 6'8" and Slim Thug Jr. clogged up the middle on the defensive end. I just don't know how you can beat NS by double digits and struggle to this team.  Ohh well, I hope it a all out their system...

Naw as long as any kid in this area can move on to the next level I’ll support them. Big name schools bring in other schools and smaller schools. More exposure in this area the better for everyone

Imagine if this group of Juniors from SE Texas played on 1 AAU team and played on anyone of the circuits. Nike, Adidas or Under Armour. Just a thought.

I'm reminded of the Barbers Hill Supt ragging on Vidor's field after a football game following 3 solid days of rain.  Durn right it was muddy, so that buffoon suggested Vidor ought to get a turf field.  Well okay high roller, let Barbers Hill pay for it, and while your at it, get us one in Evadale.

Seriously not trying to hurt any feelings here BUT...man the Nederland facilities are HORRIBLE. The long jump pit boards are all out of wack. Literally not even close to being a flat surface. Just old rotten out boards sitting at uneven angles. I thought for sure someone was going to break an ankle. The track itself is full of peaks and valleys and dip-de-doo's. Couldn't even see the curves because there are no lights. Kids literally having to run in the dark until they reach the straight away. Worst facilities bar non I've ever seen for a high school track competition.
I remember last year it was LIGHTLY raining and there were literally lakes forming on the track. A couple of teams actually just packed up and got on the buses and went home. Several athletes were stumbling and slipping.
I'm sorry if it seems like I'm busting on Nederland...I am NOT but at the same time I am. Those kids DESERVE MUCH BETTER. IT IS A SHAME.

Sometimes I think that THE POWERS tend to forget how the hiring of 1 person can affect the total environment and attitude of an entire campus and in some cases even a town...

Sounds like we agree on a few things.  I have no contact with the junior high kids and yes since so many people are renting homes or apartments (not in a mortgage), a few may move around but that happens everywhere.  I don't live in a box in Beaumont but every community has issues.  You will just hear about it more when you are the only town in the area with over 100K people. 
I totally agree about the coaching situation.  I even spoke at a board meeting about it.  He has a full offseason now so he won't be able to use that excuse if he has another 2-8 campaign.  Me personally, anything less than 5-5 and getting into the playoffs is unacceptable.  The district is top heavy with North Shore and West Brook, but those other 2 spots are up for anyone's taking. 

Cox would be a good fit, let him go...but ain't no parent sending their kid to Kountz to follow him if the kid has ANY serious potential.

Yes, I do agree and will be the 1st to say that the football hire at United was a mistake, I said it when it was announced.  That head coach in waiting won't get the reigns when AL steps down unless they make a playoff run in 2019.  I most undoubtingly agree that winning and scholarships is what counts and neither is happening but the cupboard is far from being bare at United...

Smh.  Move from Beaumont to Kountze?  Ok, let me know how that goes.  Funny how you say that yet I had someone walk in my office yesterday saying that United just received an incoming transfer in yesterday that will help in their secondary. 
PN-G has received one kid from us that was a starter on JV.  Not saying I know EVERYTHING that goes on at The U but I'm pretty close to it...

Cox?  Are you serious?  He was part of that horrible regime (the three stooges)  that made  Central football become a laughing joke.  He had athletes galore and had full control over the offense and put up historically low numbers while on Central's sidelines.  
I mean, I know he's doing well at South Park Middle school.  Maybe it is his calling to coach at the middle school level.  
Kountze don't have the athletes like in Beaumont. And he'll be in a district with the likes of Newton and Corrigan-Camden.  He'll get ran off the field with those games...
