  1. Mr. Thamm: I am the head baseball coach at Deweyville and I have a kid that just might fit the bill for you. Jacob Howell is the young man's name. He is exactly what you were talking about in your post. He is 85-87 with a good deuce and a developing splitter. He throws strikes and keeps the ball down with good sinking action. The kid is a bulldog on the mound and would be a good addition to your team. I pitched professionally for the St. Louis Cardinals so i have a pretty good idea of what it takes to get to the next level in baseball. He has a good frame he is about 6'3" and 180. I have him on a weight program to get him stronger and it appears to be paying off. We will see this spring how much he develops.
  2. The Deweyville varsity baseball team is looking for games for the upcoming season. Due to budget constraints we are only able to attend one tournament this season. As a result, We need games on Feb. 15 or 17 (scrimmages), and regular season games on Feb. 23-25, Feb 28 and March 1-3. We are looking for a 1A, 2A or 3A varsity team or a 4A, 5A JV team. If you are interested please leave me a message on this board or call me at (903) 926-2592. Thanks and best of luck to everyone this upcoming season.
  3. I think Coach Smith has really done a nice job at Warren and I wish her the best the rest of the way! She is one of the fine up and coming coaches in the area I believe!
