Yeah......definitely....i ve been saying it all year that if the coach would change her line up and play man to man defense that HF could challenge HJ for first.. I believe if HF plays this way against Orangefield...then we can beat them. HF guards didn't shoot the ball as well as they usually do.......probably due to the competition and big game magnitude.
I agree bucket, HF has not beat Orangefield in a long time. This will be a interesting year no doubt. If the Parents would leave the girls alone at Orangefield they could do well. I think they are adapting to that concept. Time will tell.

Beaumont Ozen vs. Vidor Game Thread/Ozen wins 62-26!

I agree, that was a bad call but when things are moving fast those calls are going to be made sometimes. Just the way it is. ;D ;D -
Beaumont Ozen vs. Vidor Game Thread/Ozen wins 62-26!
Riding Solo replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I am really happy for Vidor that they are doing good because they was down for many years. That being said, I made a comment earlier in the year that size and depth would be a problem for Vidor down the road. I think Ozen exposed that, Ozen is clearly the best team in the golden triangle. Vidor has good guard play but that will only carry you so far. -
Can I say... Whatever? No one here saying this is the best team to ever step foot in the longhorn gym.. Just TRYING to be positive about a talented group of CHILDREN (that read this stuff!) who are about to start district play. They have everything they need to advance to the playoffs and their fans should be behind them supporting their efforts. They all bring 100% to the game and none deserve to be slammed on a public forum. btw solo they're not ranked 17th because they are a bunch of slackers! AND no... I do not have a daughter on this team.
I can tell you are woman, let me say this my comments are directed at the parents. As for the kids maybe they should use my post as motivation.

Sorry guys but you have no clue about girls basketball. The HF teams of 06,07and 08 would beat the current team of HF by 30 points. Believe me I have watched girls basketball for a long time. There is no athlete on the current team like Memri Cameron, Cheyene Craigen, Meagan Gary or Kendra Wright. The same can be said about Orangefield the teams of 05, 06, 07, 08, 09 could beat the current team at Orangefield by 40 points. You parents are so funny can I say"Rose colored glasses".

Navasota vs. Silsbee Game Thread/Navasota wins
Where is the talent in Silsbee? The girls use to be a firm lock for the playoffs and a appearance in Austin. Did they all move to HJ and Ozen?
They decided to concentrate on volleyball and softball instead. -
I wonder if Vidor will make the rankings after they upset the big Ozen team. :o ;) ;D
Sorry to disappiont you VP32 but Vidor has no chance against Ozen. They are in a league by themself in the golden triangle. I know you was just being funny. ;D ;D -

Does any one NOT want it? It always kills me when someone says they wanted it more. If you have ever played sports, have you ever not given everything you had to win? If someone wants it more, then someone must want it less. If you want it less then you need to GET OUT OF SPORTS!!
Obviously being in sports (?) you've heard about the jungle vs zoo animals, or some facsimile to this story. There are players you can take to the jungle and others who act like zoo animals. Zoo animals are dependent upon others to feed them and protect them. Jungle animals live in a world where you hunt or be hunted. I think (today) most players are zoo animals. They usually participate in practice or in sessions with their private trainers. In games, they run team plays. No aggression and playing w/0 instincts and no urgency in their game. They feel they deserve a scholarship & playing time just because they put in time and effort no matter what their potential. Kind of like the zoo animal who expects to be fed. Now on the other-hand, I also feel the court is the jungle. This is where players with the jungle mentality perform. They are aggressive and will fight and scratch when they get a sniff of blood, sweat & tears. They don't care if it's their grandma on the opposing team. They go for the kill. They do not wait passively. They hunt and eat it. Those with the jungle mentality find success because the zoo animals are unable to defend against the mentality and aggressiveness. The jungle animals take it to the opponent. Does everyone want it? Sure! But some are not willing to go the extra mental mile for it and just satisfied being there. Some are just happy not losing by a large margin to good teams ;)
Never heard it put that way but I like it. Good post, very original.
It take OF a little while to get things going, always has. It's taken this group a little longer then normal. When is the last time HF beat Orangefield?
Not sure about this but I would say 2003. -
Hamshire ** not Hampshire. Its going to be a fun race in 21 3a. H-F is def a jekyl and hyde team they are either clicking on all cylinders or they look just clueless. They have some really good guards they just need to find a way to get them some seperation and let them shoot the ball or cut into the lanes. I refuse to ever overlook Orangefield because they have such a good coach and they have some girls who can really play. If they start gelling and playing to their potential they can be really, really dangerous.
Sorry for the misspelling. ;D ;D I hate when I do that. I agree with everything you said. Orangefield is also a Jekyl and hyde team. Lots of issues in Orangefield right now. Hopefully the girls can get past the issues and just play basketball. -

I like you basball25, I tried to rattle you chain and you was calm. See the girls side gets no action so I like to stir it up a little hoping the girls side will get the respect it deserves. That being said, I hope Hamphire does good this year except against my lady bobcats of course. Good luck to you guys. -

Sometimes you can throw matchups out the window. It is, what team shows up on any given night. -
its all about matchups, HF and buna match up really good with guard play, I have seen Fannett and OF play and Fannett is the better team!!! its hard to go by scores and how much somebody beat a team by and then what the other team beat a team by!! I mean HF killed lumberton this yr and ofield beat lumberton by like 8 its hard to go by scores, its all about matchups.... and if I am not mistaken fannett might have beat buna already by like 20 early in the season in a tourney I could be wrong.
Sensitive, All I am saying is Hamshire does not have a lock for second. I honestly though they did. I guess it depends on what Hamshire or Orangefield team shows up on a paticular night. ;D -

Orangefield beat Buna 64-45. That makes things a little more interesting in 21-3A.
