1. I personally think she is good for Orangefield. Yes, she is young but knows volleyball. Any of the established coaches in this area will tell you that and would love to have her on their staff. The problem with Orangefield is all the drama that goes on and  Orangefield is not the only school. There is drama in every single girls sport. Just the way it is. LOL!!!!!!
 2. In no particular order: PNG Nederland LCM Silsbee HF BC Sorry I had to put 6.
 3. You take Brittany Scott and Brittany James off those WOS teams ,they do not go to the regional tournament 3 years in a row. Matter of fact they do not make it out of district.
 4.
help me understand the diff between good and great bobcat?? is it wins , playoff success, student success after bb, or just what exactly seperates the 2??
I think it is all of the above and some. Ancelot in her first year took a team who had a losing record the year before and went 20-10.  I think you set yourself apart from the others when you win with less talent. After that first year Ancelot had talent. So it really hard to say if she is great or any other coach in this area for that matter. I would say we have had some really good ones but not great ones.
 5.
Ancelot is the best hs girls basketball coach in the area when she was coaching. if that isn't great i don't know what is.
Sims from HJ is right there with her.  ;)
 6.
So you men/women think its okay for a coach/teacher to say such things in front of parents and young children?  I don't!  If they feel the need to say such things to their players, then say it where no one but them can hear it! I don't expect them (the coaches) to be all surgery sweet to the players; however, when they (the coaches) are in the presence of the parents (aka: supporters) and young children, WATCH YOUR MOUTH! For whoever said my son deserved it: you are a real piece of work.  Just for the record my son did not play that game; he was sick.  I was still there though, supporting the kids.  Working the concession stand.  Buying the sodas.  Ordering the shirts to support the team.  As a matter of fact, it was the same day that I turned in the sponsorship money that I had collected for the baseball program.  Don't talk about what you don't know!I know Coach Rojas would get onto the players; however, I don't recall ever hearing him curse like that in public.  Practices yes, NOT in public for everyone to hear. As far as Coach T; I loved him when he was my PE coach in high school and I would have been furious had he not been appointed as AD.  I think he will do a wonderful job.  He has the knowledge, expertise, and personality that just makes him such a wonderful man.  I'm sad to see Coach Hooks go; but couldn't ask for a better replacement.
That would be me. Maybe I was a little rough and I am sorry for that. Shea Landry is a fine young man and the kids will love him. He knows baseball. Believe me these young kids have heard cuss words before. Not saying it is right but don't condem the young coach so quickly. Give the guy a chance. Today is calm compared to 30 years ago. Most kids and parents would not except the coaching methods of 30 years ago which is sad IMO.
 7.
well I guess my son won't be playing next year because I think Landry is a smart butt.  Anyone who calls the kids "f(*&ing punks" and doesn't care that he says it in front of a parent deserves and gets no respect from me!
Wow, some parents amaze me. This one takes the cake. Thought this only happened in Orangefield, guess not. LOL!!!!
Shea is a outstanding young man and will do well. Great move by Coach T. The kids will love him, I do. As for you queen, if in fact that did happen which I doubt your son probably deserved it pretty much like you.

Anybody who questions this persons loyality to EC has no clue what they are talking about. This person truely Bleeds green. This person has no kids involved anymore. Why should this person care? That person does and always will. That is a true Buc.
Who's on first?
Please explain?????
 11. Bradley Dale did good. Congrats Zac. You will be playing for an awesome coach and team. Never seen you play but now I will.  Awesome!!!!!!

 13.
I'm sure NO ONE has asked Huck to leave, but I know for sure certain people are trying to run him off...what a great loss for OF that would be!!!!  I'm so sick of parents making it all about themselves...GROW UP!!!!!!  The kids needs to play sports because they enjoy playing...not for their parents.  If kids can't have moral character & make the grades, then they need to get out of athletics!!  Let Huck stay in OF....he's the best coach we've had in years!!!!
Awesome Post, I love it.
 14.
Just for the record, no one in OF has asked Huck to leave or anything of that nature so not sure what is being said but that is the farthest from the truth.  If he is leaving it is because he has made that decision not anyone else.
Really, if he made that decision than it was because people want him out. Why would he want to leave? Every coach that as ever coached there said the kids are awesome and work harder than most. Plain and simple it is the parents. They are a joke. The best thing for their kids is in front of their face and they can't even see it. You included "Wildcatter".
 15.
he aint goin anywhere
I hope so because he is the best thing that ever happened to Orangefield in a long time. Old school supports you coach.
 16.
Could not agree with you more Riding Solo.... ;) What is going on at Orangefield with Coach Huckabay is an embarrassment to the school and community. When he was hired he was very clear to the board, parents and students as to who he was and what he stood for and now he is being “beat up” for sticking to his word. For those of you who don’t remember, Coach Huckabay, had numerous parent meetings and in fact all athletes were required to have a parent attend. At those meetings he gave out a rulebook and stated his belief that participating in school sports was a privilege earned by hard work, discipline and following the rules and now that he has actually kept his word and enforced those beliefs he is paying the price. Coach Huckabay turned boys into men and helped make them mentally tough and it carried over to the football field and that is why we were more successful than previous years. Surely people can understand that….
Dam good post. I know, I know we are getting off the subject. ;D ;D ;D
 17.

ther not going to listen to you !! lol ... 6 finalist but decision has been made .........
Thats probably right. They go through the motions for appearance sake, but most all things athletic or otherwise are usually settled long before anything is even posted. I am hoping this could be an exception, but I am highly doubtful of it. Huck, with his history at 2A OPP and his program instilled discipline, is THE best candidate for EC.
Could not agree with you more. It is all about turning boys into men and he is the man for the job. If we lose Huck it may be many more years before we have a winning record. I am just wondering how many coaches is Orangefield going to go through before they are happy. My bet is ALOT!!!!! ;D ;D Because they are never happy.
 18. I don't blame Huck for wanting to leave. It is a no win situation at Orangefield. Hard working kids no doubt and if the kids had a say so I bet they would want Huck to stay. If Huck leaves it will be a step backward for Orangefield. Why can't parents mind their own business. If I was a coach Orangefield would not be on my list as far as places I would want to coach. Not because of the kids, they are great. To much drama and complaining. Orangefield looked like a JV team compared to most of their opponets and they went 7-3. First winning season in a long time and they want to run this guy off. Go figure!!!!!!
 19. Congrats to Kori, she won the 1A high jump with a leap of 5'6".
 20. Awesome job Rebels. That tells me that the school and parents are completely behind the kids. Wish more schools were like Evadale.
 21. BC is a pressure cooker when it comes to baseball and softball. You have to have thick skin to coach there. Apparently coach Landry does, good for him. ;D ;D
 22. Taks is the worst thing Texas could have ever done to the educational system. Taks, Taks, and Taks what a joke. Don't get me started. ;D ;D
 23. I thought he game was tonight. What happen?
 24.
I think you said EVERYTHING else BUT......I never said don't play HS.....I mean when a parent/athlete walks up to a HS Coach and gives them an ultimatum, unbelievable....I think you have more issues than the topic that was started on this thread which was mainly about "supporting HS sports"...I support HS Sports 100 percent, but I also don't have a problem with kids working on their dream during the sport in season and on their own time, and at our school that is a no-no...Good luck to anyone that has a dream!!!!  My daughter has a dream and I'm driving her back and forth to Sugarland to try to get her back on the court from an injury.....I sure hope I get at least one more opportunity to see her play.....best of luck to you and your daughter.....
Great post.
