  1. I can just about bet that any team in the MLB that has as many every day players and key backups on the IR would struggle finding players to replace those guys like the Astros. No team has an unlimited surplus of good players. I think Houston is doing a fantastic job over the last 2 months with what they have to work with due to the injuries and losing the players to free agency and trade. So many baseball experts have been praising the Astros on what they have done this season. But here you go again trying to use a small sample size (6 games) to try and make a point. Completely ridiculous. But using your "if' prophecy, if Houston plays like they did for the last 2 months, they will win the West by 12 games and be 1st or 2nd in AL in wins and losses. You calling me a sourpuss is hilarious. Like I have been saying, you only come around when you have opportunity to be negative. Houston losing 5 of the last 6 gave you that opportunity. Pretty sad. BTW, my prediction of the Astros being in first place in the division by All Star break came true. Up by 5 games as well. But you heavily doubted that and called me crazy. SMH
  2. Here is the current active roster for the Astros and their hitting statistics: [Hidden Content] You tell me who should be in lineup in place of or with these players: Altuve, Parades, Walker, Diaz, Smith, Caratini and Dubon. You have Hummel, Trammel, Short, Whitcomb, Matthews and Corona to choose from to play in the other two batting positions or replace one or two of the players above. Keep in mind that Pena, Meyers, Alvarez, McCormick, Rodgers, Melton and Dezenso are all on the IR. It's a given that Pena, Alvarez, Meyers and McCormick would be every day players if they were not on IR. So my thoughts (and what any person with any sense could see) is that Houston puts in what available players they have to fill the lineup for each game. Pretty dang simple. Let's hear your thoughts.
  3. That statement that I put in bold is all I need to know about what little you know. Entering today's game, Houston is 1st in hitting in the American league and MLB with a .259 team batting average. They rank in top five in OBP (.324), Slugging (.411) and OPS (.735) in the American League. Now, had you said their hitting of late (last 4-5 games) or first part of season (first 20 games) has not been good, then your statement would have been accurate.
  4. 1. Astros went in defensive mode when replacing Altuve to protect lead. 2. In extra innings, you start your at bat with a runner at 2nd base. Whoever made last out in prior inning is put on 2nd base to start their next inning at bat. 3. same as #2. MLB started this a couple of years ago to shorten games. In extras, you start with a runner in scoring position (2nd base) to make it a little easier to score so that games can likely end sooner. No more 12+ inning games. I think since MLB implemented this rule, no games have gone past 13 innings.
  5. Moving Brown up in rotation to pitch today, He will not pitch in All Star game. If Hader is used today, I don't see him pitching n All-Star game. Astros pitching got 19 K's last night.
  6. Not sure where the girls coach went.
  7. McCullers with 83 pitches in the first 3 innings.
  8. He was also their star QB. Had offers from several Power 5 schools.
  9. That is their #1 prospect. He played his high school ball at Atascocita.
  10. All the above. Just shows that Houston has a good farm system and made some good deals. Houston has dealt with more injuries to every day players and starting pitchers than any other team in MLB.
  11. The Astros have played 93 games and have had 88 different lineups. They still haven't used a single lineup more than twice.
  12. My point was we don't hear from you unless something negative is going on with the Astros. Then you make your presence known. You only come around when you have opportunity to be negative therefore why you make a post after a three game losing streak and not when they were winning 28 of 38 games and playing the best in the MLB the last month. I posted a while back that you wouldn't be heard from until Houston had a 3-4 game losing streak and well, here you are.
  13. Source: The Astros are calling up No. 1 prospect Brice Matthews to join the team Friday, MLB. com has learned. Matthews is slashing .283/.400/.476 with 10 homers, 39 RBIs and 25 steals at Triple-A, while playing mostly 2B. Matthews was set to play in Futures Game.
  14. I agree. I would hate to live in negativity like some obviously do.
  15. Just like I predicted. On cue after 3 straight losses. smh
  16. Got mine three weeks ago. 😉
  17. Brown finally having a bad outing. He was due one.
  18. Gordon pitches tomorrow for Houston.
  19. Believe that's 25 for 25 in save opportunities.
  20. Astros sign relief pitcher Hector Neris. He will be available for today's game. Houston sent down RHP Alexander to AAA to make a roster spot for Neris. This is Neris third stint with Houston. He pitched for the Angels and Braves this season.
  21. Houston having BP tonight. Currently lead 17-1 in top of 6. Astros with 5 HR's tonight. 17 runs on 17 hits
  22. Ok. Didn't look at the private rankings.
  23. Been doing the 4th down here for the last 11 years. Love it.
