  2. That game has not been agreed upon yet.
  3. and just lost their QB Lagway may be forced to play now.
  4. Due to some scheduling conflict, Kountze will be needing an opponent for next week, Week 2. Kountze was scheduled to play Hull-Daisetta but HD double booked for that week on accident with Danbury. HD will be playing at Danbury in Week 2. Also, West Hardin lost their opponent for next week as KIPP canceled their entire season due to not being able to field a team. Kountze is hoping to work out a game with WH next week. Please contact Coach Todd Paine at Kountze HS
  5. Yep. May hedge it later in a late Saturday parlay.
  6. First, yes those kids are in the district. (not all attend regularly). Also, it's more like a hand full play football, not some. And a few of those parents work and pay taxes. The rest do not. Now my sources to all this info is very good. I have a family member who lives in Cleveland ISD and her kids go to school there. I also have a friend who is in law enforcement over there and works that area daily. I also know a coach on staff at Cleveland very well. They all confirm what gary has posted. What gary posted above is all true. The fact is Cleveland only has a 6A enrollment because of this "alien" community that is geographically within the Cleveland ISD boundaries. Cleveland has a 6A enrollment with 4A facilities and 3A football (based on participation numbers and talent). It's a no win situation and will only get worse. Over half of that "alien" community do not benefit the town of Cleveland. It's a terrible situation. My cop friend says it's like a third world country over there and the Mexican Cartel has a big claim to that community. Very sad to say the least.
  7. What issue do you have with that situation?
  8. As for the officiating? I saw two that should not have been called and one that should have. I didn't see the holding on the long run by Fuller that set up LC-M at the 10 in the first Q. Flagged looked like it was behind the play and did not effect the play. One of the PI's should have been called. Not sure about the other. Those no calls or calls did not determine winner, IMO.
  9. Correct. Fuller. Don't know where I got Winters. I thought #5 (believe that is Worster) was the better passer. Both ran the ball decently but #0 has more speed and quickness but maybe not the durability and tough running that #5 brings.
  10. Some observations from me standing on the sidelines last night. Both teams had key personnel playing both ways. HF had WR Pirtle and WR Starns playing Strong Safety and Linebacker (Starns playing defense is a first). LC-M had their QB #0 playing Safety but more importantly had their starting RB Fuller playing inside LB. Having those offensive guys playing key defensive positions is a tell that both teams defense needs help. HF lost 8 starters from that side of the ball so early on having some key guys play both ways is probably necessary. Peevey did exactly what I thought he would do and that was play "keep away" when he was on offense. They ran the ball majority of the time (I think that is their strength and early on will be HF defense weakness) and ran the play clock down on every snap. LC-M tried to limit HF offensive possessions as much as possible. Best defense was keeping HF's potent offense on the sidelines. Conditions were not good. Rain and muddy field limited passing game and somewhat the run game. HF was able to complete some passes but it was mostly from HF QB Braxton biding time with his legs and the secondary finally breaking coverage, QB is much more mobile this year than last but I will like to see how he plays against a much quicker and faster defense. He alluded some sacks but LC-M was not very fast on defense. A quicker defense probably gets at least 4 sacks last night, some with large yardage losses. Both teams struggled with the conditions. Will like to see these two later in the year under better conditions to see what each team can really do.
  11. Of these games, these are my plays: #7 Notre Dame at #20 Texas A&M(-3) #14 Clemson at #1 Georgia(-13.5) #13 LSU(-4.5) vs #23 USC Colorado St at #4 Texas(-32.5) #19 Miami(-2.5) at Florida #8 Penn St(-8.5) at West Virginia TCU(-9) at Stanford CHA CHING!! Also took LSU/USC over, ND/A&M under, Rice -9.5 and La Tech -8.5
  12. I agree. I'll be checking it out next Wednesday.
  13. Summer Creek, Atascocita and North Shore defeated their Week 1 opponents by a combined score of 115-7 … their opponents were Shadow Creek, Lamar and South Oak Cliff. District 23-6A is gonna be unbelievable in 2024 West Brook and United are deliriously happy they are no longer in this district.
  14. Kilgore beat Carthage too.
  15. I stood on those sidelines tonight. Trust me, the field didn't need watering at any time.
  16. This win extends Silsbee's regular season win streak to 24 games.
