  1. I know all about civil disobedience. I just don't see this as the same. I also do not think redistricting should be on this bill. That should be on a separate bill all on it's own or not even put on a bill. Let the voters decide.
  2. I get that. But if Reps (both sides) were to do this all the time without any immediate repercussions, then how can legislature work fluidly? I can certainly understand voting someone out because they no longer rep your beliefs and values. But I don't need to vote someone out if they don't show up for work. That should be handled accordingly and immediately. Just my opinion. Would feel this way if the sides were reversed.
  3. Redistricting should ALWAYS be about the numbers and not political gain or loss. When the population landscapes change, that is time to redistrict. That's warranted. Any other reason for redistricting is simply to gain a political advantage. Neither side should do it. I will say, the Dems that have fled to break quorum should be replaced. Immediately!
  4. So what you are saying is Republicans need to be more like Democrats. Got it
  5. Astros with an 8-2 win over the Marlins. Stops a 3 game losing streak.
  6. Astros currently taking care of business. Up 6-0 top of 7th
  7. Held back when? How large is this "group"?
  8. If he averages 180 yards per game, then he will get 1800 in the regular season. If he averages 150, then he will get 1800 in 12 games. I see PAM playing at least 12 games this season.
  9. How does this "group" get an extra year of football?
  10. I agree. Just wanted to hear if there was some actual logic to the redistricting other than it being political and one side trying to get an advantage over the other.
  11. High school football officially kicks off today. Good luck to all our coverage area teams. Give us some early reports of practices for this week.
  12. Houston is 6-10 since All Star break and 2-8 in last 10 games. Lead over Seattle is down to 2.5 after leading by as much as 9.
  13. Astros score just 3 runs on 14 hits. Of those 14 hits, only one of them (Walker's HR) was an extra base hit. Houston had 14 LOB's today. Can't win too many games leaving that many on base.
  14. Pena not in lineup today. Altuve in leadoff spot playing 2B. Correa playing SS, Urias at 3B.
  15. Transferred to Hardin-Jefferson
  16. Houston's lineup for tonight: SS Jeremy Pena DH Jose Altuve LF Jesus Sanchez 3B Carlos Correa C Yanier Diaz 1B Christian Walker CF Taylor Trammell RF Cam Smith 2B Mauricio Dubon P Hunter Brown
  17. Astros make way for Carlos Correa, Jeremy Peña. Brice Matthews and Jacob Melton back to Triple-A
  18. They wanted Arrighetti and Houston said no.
  19. Being that MLB doesn't have a salary cap, taking on Correa's salary isn't all that big a deal. (particularly since we don't have to pay 33 mil of it). We needed an every day 3B since Paredes is done for the year. Correa should do fine there. He is hitting for average about the same as Paredes. Just will need to hit for more power. Be curious to see where he ends up in the batting order. Getting Sanchez was a bonus. Houston desperately needed a left handed hitter. He should help bolster the outfield and may allow Altuve to play 2B more and lead off as well. I would have liked Houston to have picked up a starting pitcher. They are really short handed there, particularly since they gave up Gusto to get Sanchez. Overall, I give them an A-.
  20. Astros actually gave up more (as far as players go) getting Sanchez than they did Correa. Houston just added more salary with getting Correa.
  21. Paredes is good trade bait for next year.
