  1. Lowe not the only one who left for HJ. Coach Dumas, top assistant, is now at HJ as first assistant to Hancock. Joubert told me he has yet to hire a replacement.
  2. Mariners lose to Mets. Astros can move back to 1 1/2 up with a win.
  3. [Hidden Content] Interesting bit from the article: Hader will not throw for three weeks after being diagnosed with a left capsule shoulder strain on Friday. He will fill that time with rest and strengthening exercises and be reevaluated to see if he can resume a throwing program. "We'll see how my body recovers and how it's taking on rehab," Hader said. "Right now for me, I'm trying to get as strong as I can for these next three weeks and see where I go from there." Once he's able to throw again, Hader said he would need an additional ramp-up period of about three weeks in order to pitch in games, which would likely rule him out of the remainder of the regular season. But, the six-time All-Star hopes to return in the postseason for the Astros, who entered Saturday leading the American League West by a half-game over Seattle.
  4. I believe there is a rule on it. But I believe someone (a coach) would have to file the complaint.
  5. PA is never ever to do play by. That's not the job of a PA. It's very very annoying. Just sum up the play and give kudos to a good play. Then give down and distance. Never should a PA talk during a play.
  6. I forgot to mention, when I was at WO-S at Lumberton scrimmage, Lumberton actually had a PA doing play by. Pretty sure that was a first for me. In fact, I can't recall ever a scrimmage I attended that had a PA, let alone doing play by. I guess they needed practice as well. lol
  7. Any reason given for the cancellation?
  8. I still can't get over the amount of players HJ had on varsity. 53!!! Coach said they had over 120 in the program. By far the most I have ever heard for Hardin-Jefferson.
  9. Orioles pitcher is from Lumberton. Brandon Young. It was his first start in Majors. What a debut!
  10. Astros with a 7-0, 1 hit loss. Seattle won so lead down to half game.
  11. To sum up: No team scored in the controlled part (20 plays each, 10 1st, 10 2nd). Kountze defense looked really good in the controlled part. In the live quarters, HJ got 3 TD's, Kountze 0. HJ moved the ball well after stalling on their first few drives. Kountze never could get anything going offensively. Attrition set in in the last quarter. Lions having to play too many both ways while HJ was able to platoon on both sides of the ball. One player for Kountze did stick out. #8 who plays DE is really good. HJ had problems with him all night. I think Kountze has a shot at making the playoffs as long as that defense plays this well. HJ can also make playoffs but their offense needs to step it up.
  12. Baltimore pitcher had a perfect game thru 7 2/3 innings. Urias reached on an infield single to break it up.
  13. As I am walking out, HJ with another TD.
  14. Back ups starting to be put in for HJ with 5 minutes left. I am out of here.
  15. HJ with the first score of the night. 22 yard TD run.
  16. HJ with another INT. Ball at the Kountze 34
  17. HJ picked up one first down but had to punt it away.
  18. HJ with an INT at their own 10 yard line.
  19. Kountze went three and out. HJ fumbled on second play.
  20. Bout to start the two live quarters. Kountze on offense first.
  21. Not going to bother posting any 2nd team stuff due to the number advantage.
  22. Kountze picked up two 1st downs and about 20 yards in their 10 plays. Both defenses are well ahead of their offenses.
  23. HJ picked up just one 1st down in their 10 plays. Bout 15 yards of offense.
  24. Kountze defense looking really good early in scrimmage.
