  1. As far as this website is concerned, the game of the week has already been declared. Nederland and Vidor is our Big School Game of the Week. Nuff said.
  2. I think everyone has missed the boat here on what is the most important game in 20-4A. It has to be the Nederland-Vidor game. That is a playoff game in it's self. The winner will go, the loser will stay home most likely. Lumberton, Central, and Livingston actually can lose a game and still go to the playoffs. BTW, that is correct in that if 2 teams are tied at the end of the year, they will be declared Co-Champs. The only thing head to head decides is playoff seeding, not district championships.
  3. I see it two ways: Nederland 38 Vidor 31 or Nederland 14 Vidor 17 The higher the score, the better for Ned. The lower the score, the better for Vidor.
  4. Yes they did. Silsbee finally got the offense rolling. The Johnson kid is something special. He only contributed on 20 offensive plays(9 rushing, 11 passes) but still had 312 total yards, avg 15.6 yards a play. Barnes finally had a breakout game, he was due.
  5. 1. Nederland @ Vidor 2. West Hardin @ Evadale 3. Livingston @ Central 4. Sterling @ West Brook 5. Memorial @ Channelview 6. Dayton @ CE King 7. PNG @ Ozen 8. LCM @ Lumberton 9. Rusk @ Jasper 10. WOS @ HJ 11. Silsbee @ HF 12. Bridge City @ Orangefield 13. Coldspring @ Cleveland 14. San Augustine @ Kirbyville 15. Newton @ Shelbyville 16. Hemphill @ Woodville 17. Buna @ Hardin 18. Kountze @ EC 19. HD @ Sabine Pass 20. High Island @ Chester 21. Burkeville @ Colmesneil 22. Texas @ Texas Tech
  6. Jeremy Johnson, QB Silsbee passing: 8-11 72% 163 yards 1 td rushing: 9 carries 149 yards 3 td's total offense: 312 yards 4 td's Chris Barnes, RB Silsbee 8 rushes 133 yards 2 td's Patrick Steed, Silsbee DT 9 tackles 4 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery
  7. The games of the week are dead on. Good job, Mark.
  8. and Sam is doing this with what used to be the starting qb for a top 10 OU team.
  9. Actually, Bailey is not having a good year this year. He is playing the QB position but he is far from a quarterback. He is very small also, '5"8 160lbs. He would probably make a good slot reciever, but he hasn't played that position.
  10. Penny, you are wrong on a couple of things here. First, if Vidor loses to Ned but beats Livingston, they would finish 4-3, not 5-2, they already have 2 district losses. Lumberton is not assured of finishing 5-2. They have two games remaining and have 1 loss already. There is a possibilty of them finishing 4-3, but it's pretty safe to say they will beat LCM this week and rule that out. Nederland doesn't have to win both games, they could beat Vidor and lose to Lumberton as long as Vidor loses to Livingston. That would leave Ned at 4-3, Vidor at 3-4. Now if Livingston were to lose to Central and Vidor, that would create a three way tie between Ned, Vidor, and Livingston with 4-3 records for the last 2 playoff spots. What fun!! ;D
  11. Only chance that this game will get broadcast will be by KOGT. But, I believe they will be doing the Orangefield-Bridge City game. We are all obligated to the schools we have contracts with next week. Good news though, the HJ-Silsbee game the following week will be broadcast by your's truely. ;D
  12. I disagree. It needs to be Nederland and Vidor. It's like a playoff game, winner goes to the playoffs, loser stays home.
  13. HF always had some respect starting off. But if BC can keep a game close with silsbee im almost sure HF can keep it close and atleast get some scores. Close game HF 12 Silsbee 27 If a 3 touchdown win with a shutout to boot is what you consider a close game, you've got a lot to learn about football. :
  14. We will be broadcasting this game here on the site. Pregame at 3:45, kickoff at 4:00.
  15. Nothing clinched yet. There still could be a three way tie between HJ, HF, and Silsbee. It would then come down to points. So, nothing etched in stone. Yes but HJ has defeated HF and Orangefield. WO-S, Silsbee, HJ should be the 3 teams. HJ has beaten HF, Orangefield, and BC. But if they lose their last two games, WOS and Silsbee, that would leave them 3-2. If HF beats Silsbee and wins their last game, HF would be 3-2. That would leave all 3 with 3-2 records with each having gone 1-1 against each other. It would then come down to points. Right now HJ is a +9 and HF is a -9. If HF beats Silsbee by 10 and Silsbee beats HJ by 10 or more, that would leave HJ out of the playoffs due to their - point total.

  17. Silsbee looked better tonight on offense as Jeremy Johnson and Chris Barnes was able to get the ground game going. Johnson still passed for his usual 180 yards, but both he and Barnes had over 100 yards rushing each. The Tiger offense is still making mistakes with the penalties as 2 other Silsbee td's were called back due to the yellow flags. Silsbee's defense still playing at a high level as Orangefield only had a couple of long drives, the last one coming late in the game against Tiger reserves, scoring their last td with just 1 minute left. All in all, a solid win for the Tigers. A much needed convincing win that should build this teams confidence. Silsbee was able to overcome the adversity this week and that's a good sign.
